this follows a story many months ago that bushco was slowly and deliberately replacing ig’s with litmus-tested bushies… these must be the ones that stuck around…

And, yes, I DO take it personally

  2. SouthWest Bob says:

It is now clear that one of the main neo-con objectives was to infiltrate and take control of the federal government agencies so that they policies of the neo’s would continue after bush is termed out or impeached.

    By whom, exactly?

    Inspector Admirals?

    Inspector Generallissimos?

    Inspector Field Marshalls?

It certainly does seem like a pre-meditated attack on the U.S. Justice system doesn’t it?

  5. margaret says:

    from the article:

“If they’re breaking all the rules they’re supposed to be enforcing, then obviously we’ve got a problem.”

It was very smart of Rove & gang, I must admit, to target the enforcers!

It’s because our ‘watchdogs’ have been acting more like daschunds rather than german shepherds.

This makes me wonder if the investigation of three of the IG’s isn’t serving as a smokescreen to get rid of Bowen….who has revealed significant problems with the reconstruction efforts in Iraq.

  8. Devil's Advocate says:

It’s political payback for bringing to light this Administration’s corruption and waste of public funds. Hoipefully, the Dems are on the case and won’t let this Rovian machination succeed.

When Zero Mostel was black-listed after appearing before the HUAC, he appeared in a Broadway Review where he sang a song titled I wonder who’s investigating the man who’s investigating the man who’s investigating me.

The whole Islamofascism farce has merely been an excuse to bring back the ‘best’ of McCarthyism: blacklists, warrantless wiretaps, arbitrary arrest, confinement without bail, torture, and wholesale looting of the Treasury for political purposes.

It has been 1984 since 2000. How Orwell must be laughing from the grave with a Cheshire Cat smile saying “I told you so”

  12. paul says:

Is it unprecedented and troubling due to the quality of the appointments or due to over zealous democratic lawmakers that are more interested in partisan attacks than honest lawmaking?

  13. mikeandjeffsmom says:

    Hey, Kelso #6,
My dachshunds could take your German Shepherds any day! Or, at least, take some chunks out of his ankle. Anyway, if the IGs were acting like dachshunds they would be looking under every tree and into every hole and killing whatever they find in there.

No, IGs are acting more like obedient Golden Retrievers, eager to please their masters.

  14. KO says:

The investigation of one of the IG’s mentioned, Robert Cobb at NASA, actually turned up no evidence of any ethical wrongdoing. The “disciplinary” action recommended (and which he undertook) was “charm school” – an anger management course which is said to help people become more effective managers.
