Did Cheney ask for a timeline?

Did Cheney ask for a timeline?

“At a news conference after the meetings, Mr. Cheney acknowledged that the Iraqis had given him no specific time commitments for legislative action on issues the Americans have identified as crucial.”

UPDATE: From last night’s CBS Evening News: “The word ‘time’ came up a lot during his meetings with Iraqi political leaders, as in time is running out, time to act on volatile, unsettled issues like real reconciliation, disarming militias, sharing oil revenue and Cheney warned Iraqi lawmakers this is no time to take a two month summer vacation, still a possibility.”

Why does Cheney hate our troops?

  2. War4Sale says:

I want a timeline and benchmarks for Cheney’s arrest and trial for war crimes.

  3. big papa says:

I hope they DO go on vacation…

…and leave the governing of Iraq to L’il Dick and Bushiva for real…

…maybe THEN we can get some International intervention…

    …and war crimes prosecutions…

    …a’ la Saddam…

  4. stopthecons says:

the only timeline that Cheney wants is counted in generations. not months, or years.

  5. stopthecons says:

#2 – arrest and trial is really the only way to go – the sad thing is that none of these criminals are ever held accountable. that’s why we should never back down from demanding impeachment, no matter what excuses the politicians gives us for why they just can’t do it.

Constitutionally, there’s plenty of reasons to do so:

  6. Jay Randal says:

Cheney went to Iraq for only one purpose to demand that Iraq’s parliament passes the OIL stealing agreement. Darth Dicky gets a cut of the profits if the 30 year OIL swindle get passed.

  7. Zooey says:

    Tick Tock, Cheney……

  8. Mr. President says:

The word “the” came up innumerable times, y’all know what that means right!?!

  9. Zimzone says:

While ignoring Iraqi congressional requests for timelines , Bulldog Cheney took time to go shopping in Baghdad for a rug for his bald head.

Later, when a reporter asked him what was on his head, Big Dick said, ‘Damn, get off of me, McCain!’

Did wasted time, four years worth, come up? Nah, I doubt it.

  11. Dumb_Fox says:

I posted this on the other thread but it bears repeating. Bush said the following when he vetoed the funding bill:

“I believe setting a deadline for withdrawal would demoralize the Iraqi people”

“sharing oil revenues” What a load of sh*t. Be nice and share with Exxon Mobile.

  14. Keith H. says:

    Mr. Cheney ? . . . WTF ??

That’s giving the ultimate sleazy, belly-draggin’ scum, wayyyy to much respect.
    Impeach the SOB . . . NOW !!

cheney was spending too much time scouting a new location for halliburton headquarters, and figuring out how to say “go f**k yourself” in arabic

Iraq occupancy in ‘last throes,’ Cheney says

  18. Tim says:

Getting the Iraqi parliament to pass the oil law, which basically gives control over Iraq’s oil fields to western multinational corps, and putting the oil contracts into place is what Bush and Cheney are desperate to put into place before they leave office.

It’s also what Maliki, the Sh’iia, the Kurds and the Sunnis are trying to prevent.

If we’re ever going to get out of the region, get our own clean, sustainable and renewable alternative energy policies off the ground in this country, right the wrongs that have been done around the world in our names, 86ing that oil law is the way to do it.

    I’m beginning to wonder if…

..those mortar crewmen in the insurgency who’ve twice…

…hit (and missed) in the green zone…

    …during L’il Dick’s “visits”…

    …were U.S. trained?

  20. blabla says:

yep, sure explains why the Missed the green zone… … …

  21. blabla says:

yep, sure explains why they missed…
