Certainly, responsibility for a wrong must come with some unpleasant consequences. Gonzales seems to think that taking responsibility simply means that he can learn from his mistakes. "I take responsibility" has become akin to "I apologize for that." Meaningless. I don't know, but it seems obvious to me that that aspect of his testimony should be dissected on the spot. Cabinet members are supposed to fall on their sword to protect the administration, not prove the incompetence and corruption of the administration. This sleaze-ball acts like he's fighting for a Post Office job because he needs to feed his family. A cabinet position is not meant to be your entire career.
