The weirdest thing about the Jefferson case is all the FBI leaks on the investigation, then promises in may 2006 of charges being filed within 6 weeks. Since then, nada

The only reason I can see for charges not even being filed yet, is they don’t think they have enough to make it stick in court yet.

Something is definately weird in that case, from both sides.

I’ve never heard/read a single Republican protest the removal of Jefferson from the Ways and Means committee.

I disagree. I am a democrat, but I favor a political system with multiple political parties. I would, however, favor the removal of the republican party. We could just have the dems, the green party, the VPA, and the SEP. There would be four parties, and no republicans. I don’t mind that.

I keep forgetting that it is a Republican Justice Dept. I’m going to have to admit that Democrats certainly are not as “ethically-challenged.” I wish I could cancel out any previous arguments in relation to that on this post, but TP doesn’t allow (as far as I’m aware).

Honestly, I don’t know. The last time she tried, she came under a ton of republican criticism. The right-wing tried to say that she was just wanting to get rid of him because he is black. I want to get rid of him because he is crooked and makes the dems look bad. I don’t care what color he is, he had 90 grand stuffed in his freezer. But Rush and Hannity did such a tremendous job of defending Jefferson that most all of the right-wing got on board, and now we’re stuck with the SOB.

If they have a case, you can be sure they would file charges against any Democrat before they would charge a Republican.

Thats not saying there are no crooked Democrats, maybe they are smarter than the dumbass Republicans that have gotten caught so far.

Facts are, moreRepublicans have been charged, under a Republican Justice Dept, than have been any Democrats.

But then it may be a case of “looking good” next to the biggest thug on the planet by comparison???

Whatever it is, it’s tanking the GOP and this white house further into the dark abyss from which they will never escape.

You may be right. I hadn’t seen much of Joe before today. Jake is prone to mildly criticizing Republicans at the start of discussions, just to establish some sort of credibility which he then proceeds to exhaust in short order. And their diction and rhetorical styles are similar… but i’ll take your word for it.
