A new indictment has been filed against the former #3 official at the CIA, Kyle “Dusty” Foggo. Via Atrios:
According to the new indictment, Foggo provided [his friend, defense contractor Brent] Wilkes with “sensitive, internal information related to our national security,” including classified information, to help him prepare proposals for providing undercover flights for the CIA under the guise of a civil aviation company and armored vehicles for agency operations. Foggo allegedly then pushed his CIA colleagues to hire Wilkes’ companies without disclosing their longstanding friendship.
[...]
Prosecutors say that in return, Wilkes offered to hire Foggo after he retired from government service. In the meantime, he allegedly treated his friend to a Scottish golf trip during which they racked up a $44,000 hotel bill at the luxurious Pitcastle Estate.
Burn em. If convicted, salt em away for life.
May 11th, 2007 at 11:35 pmBusiness as usual in the Bush administration. But trolls like it. Trolls think it’s good.
May 11th, 2007 at 11:37 pmOh my, hand in cookie jar big time!
May 11th, 2007 at 11:58 pm#2, I beg to differ – trolls don’t think.

May 12th, 2007 at 12:16 amLets get to the juicy stuff in this scandal: Dusty and Brent were Brokeback Mountain pals who hired male escorts for DC orgies.

What? How can this be true? They’re… they’re Republicans, and gosh, Mr. Randal, Republicans NEVER EVER do anything wrong! Just ask KKKarl Rove, or Dick “Bodybag” Cheney, or Dild O’Reilley, or Sean “Heil” Hannity.
May 12th, 2007 at 12:22 amWhat? He likes golf. The man’s a golfer.
May 12th, 2007 at 12:34 amOh FFS. How long have the Abramoff and Foggo investigations been going on.
May 12th, 2007 at 12:40 amWouldn’t it just be easier to get records of all trips to Scotland where golf clubs were checked as baggage and work backwards ?
And just another item in the long list of things patti1″, valiantdouchebag, bottomofthebarrel, the Pediphile, exlax, etc. will conjure ridiculous repukian spin on, okay, let’s hear from you repubutards, what kind of crap you have for this?
May 12th, 2007 at 2:27 amKilo,
Patience my dear friend, this isn’t Law & Order, it’s real life. Investigations and trials take time unless we just do away with warrants and due process… but that’d just be downright unAmerican.
May 12th, 2007 at 2:30 amI agree, Stupid Git
The Rethugs’ problems just keep spiraling further and further out of control. I’ve never seen seen anything like it. Like slow motion footage of the Hindenburg crashing. Time to just sit back w/ a cool one, and point and laugh…
May 12th, 2007 at 2:33 am>How long have the Abramoff and Foggo investigations been going on.
come on kilo, dont you read the news? recall something about prosecutors being canned and replaced without senate oversight? coincidentally, some of those prosectors were involved with some of those folks..and yes, SG is right, even without mnemonically challenged attorney generals replacing prosecutors for reasons he can’t recall remembering, its true that investigations, especially ones involving white collar crime, take time.. it usually involves a long process of investigation, flipping people, getting more info from the flippers, getting more people to flip, etc etc. in these cases theres no bloody murder weapon and no dna to match…also the people are probably at least smart enough to make an attempt to conceal their illegality, these are no cimes of passion…add all that up, and it takes along time to build a case that can survive reasonable doubt…
May 12th, 2007 at 3:14 amAre you sure that’s it ?
Judging from the 4 year Scooter Libby investigation, trial and result I would have guessed that the reason for the delays was to draw it out until everyone forgot what the original motivation for the investigation was.
I wonder did we ever pinpoint a date when “Fitzmas” died.
May 12th, 2007 at 5:33 amIt would be the most corrupt administration in American history–except they weren’t elected.
May 12th, 2007 at 6:51 amJeebus, what is it with the golfing trips anyway? You betray the public trust, you hawk national security secrets to the highest bidder, and in return you get… a golfing trip?
I swear sometimes it’s not the corruption that appalls me, it’s the paucity of imagination. Criminy, Cunningham himself couldn’t even get a decent yacht for his pains. Some piddling little 35-footer. The shame of it.
Chronic problem with being anti-government, I guess. If you don’t really value your office, you’re not gonna hold out for a decent bid when you put it on the auction block.
May 12th, 2007 at 8:07 amKilo–I’m with you on the golf club search. Plus you know the second you open their luggage you’re going to be slap ‘em with 5 years for fashion crimes. Those pants with the little tees and golf balls–shudder.
May 12th, 2007 at 8:16 amThat is our money they are cheating for and giving out to their friends. Somewhere, somehow someone needs to be made into a powerful example. Should it be these two, I don’t know but I am so sick of them having a great time on our money!! I want to go to Scotland and golf, I want to be rich too.
May 12th, 2007 at 8:36 amDon’t you feel safer now?
/sarc.
By the way, that one hotel stay cost more than the national median income (41k/year).
