It makes me laugh how everybody expects Bush to somehow be in the Oval Office, all the time, doing nothing at all but coming up with some magical solution to the problem in Iraq.

I don’t want to go into a political rant because I could go on for pages about how stupid the majority of Americans are, but people have to realize that our government is made of people too. If they’re smart enough to get into politics, especially in America, don’t you think these people care about the fact that thousands of lives hinge on their every decision? You people don’t give any quarter to our government, you expect them to be some sort of larger-than-life epic heroes or something who never make mistakes.

Yes, there have been a bunch of scandals in the government. But scandals are nothing new, people are just using them indiscriminately to Bush-bash. Yeah, because Bush is running the show and knows all about every little thing that goes on in a government that exercises authority over 400 million people. *sigh*

I can’t blame him for trying to get out and interact with the people he’s leading. And I imagine having the chance to conduct an orchestra is a nice little much-needed break from touring tornado-devastated towns, dealing with the issue of nuclear proliferation in the one of the most turbulent regions of the world, managing the war, and all the other small things that have come to be expected of the president to do, even though they have little to do with the original functions of the presidency.

Congress runs this country, ladies and gentlemen. Once a majority vote gets up to stop funding for the war, they override the president’s veto and it’s over.

Oh, and 152……you said it……it was INSIDE THE WHITEHOUSE where nobody had to witness it. Public vs private. Big difference.
