Conyers, Leahy respond to McNulty resignation.

Rep. Rahm Emanuel (D-IL): “Another resignation won’t make the unanswered questions about the fired U.S. Attorneys disappear. We continue to wait for answers: Who developed the list of the US Attorneys to be fired? How did U.S. Attorneys end up on that list? What happened to the public corruption cases those U.S. Attorneys were investigating at the time of their departures?” Responses from Judiciary Committee chairmen Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT).

What war? The legal one in Afghanistan or the illegal occupation in Iraq, which isn’t a war at all? Or are you talking about the Global War on Terror, which is only being fought in Afghanistan and needs to spread to Pakistan where Osama bin Laden is?

Sad for the trolls that they can do no better than pretend it unimportant when their beloved party leaders are implicated in a vast criminal conspiracy. Sad indeed.

9 mistakes for such a short paragraph, I think you flunked out of intelligent America School. You’re another one of those left behind! Don’t blame us though, we wanted more money for schools, not empty slogans, and endless wars.

  14. Briseadh na Faire says:

What happened to the public corruption cases those U.S. Attorneys were investigating at the time of their departures?

That’s the crucial question! Did these firings succeed in obstructing justice?

  17. Vinnie says:

I read some of the Mr. President posts this morning. I was convinced that someone else hijacked his name just to post some really stupid annoying crap. Now I’m convinced that this guy is just a nut who’s declared it their mission to post here and annoy.

The funny thing is that their presence here is really a compliment to TP. They obviously feel that TP is doing some great work that needs to be countered. Keep it up TP!! If you’ve gotten under the skin of the conservative nut cases, the you’re probably doing something really good.

  18. lex says:

my oh my, impeachment loaf is getting easier to swallow.

Wow… why are they waiting for answers rather than telling Bush to light a fire under someones butt or get impeached.

  22. Mr. President says:

    Comment by Vinnie — May 14, 2007 @ 9:25 pm

Your first point is correct sir.

Your second, not quite. Ya’ see, I found out about TP when accessing my college e-mail, I saw Sheryl Crow’s horseface on the MSN.com homepage, with a caption reading something about that shit with Rove. I found it too funny, so I read the article. Therein was a link to TP, which I clicked, and the rest is history.

  23. Kate Henry says:

“What happened to the public corruption cases those U.S. Attorneys were investigating at the time of their departures?”

That is certainly a good question. Another good question is what did all the other US Attorneys do to make sure they were not on the list. I would like to see Congress investigate every case against a Democrat brought by the US Attorneys and see how specious they are. Considering the fact that the US Attorneys have been directed to go after Democrats…I find it odd that few Democrats have been convicted of anything (as opposed to many Republics who have been).

  29. Mr. President says:

It isn’t really, if you just wanted to point out that I’m not “acting my age”, or if you seriously wanted to know. But if you could detect my age from post #22 somehow, then I have to admit I am puzzled.

Really? Why would that puzzle you? It’s simple deduction. I’m a college student myself.

  31. Vinnie says:

“Think Progress is an excellent source of news. Even harsh conservatives like Mr. President read it every day.” Did you hear that dude? “EVERY DAY”. That’s the truth!!

Good run-down of the 1st half Vinnie, do ya have it in ya to finish your commentary of the whole game!

  38. Zooey says:

No potatoes around here, Mr P. Idaho is a very big state.

  39. Mr. President says:

Hey Zoo, doesn’t seem like there are a lot of angry people who come to this site?

  40. JPark says:

Mr. President, shut up. People care and that is why you are going to be a minority for the next decade. You might as well get used to your voice meaning nothing (as if it meant anything now).

  41. Vinnie says:

#37 – I really don’t know what you’re asking. But yes, I could finish my argument if you had a cogent point to argue against.

You have to admit that something keeps drawing you back to this site every day. I come to TP because it has some very good information and I enjoy hearing what people have to say. Only a loser would come to a site they didn’t like with the sole intent of annoying people.

You complain about people being ‘angry’ here. Well, what do you expect when you come to a liberal site and just spew crap and put down liberals? I might have some respect for you if you actually tried to make an intelligent point from time to time.

One thing you probably don’t realize is that the ‘liberals’ here mainly come across as rational, calm and informed. You and patrick1 and others come across as petulant children with nothing of interest to say. You admit you just come here to annoy people. What do you think that tells the average reader about conservatives?

  42. Zooey says:

Hey Zoo, doesn’t seem like there are a lot of angry people who come to this site?
    Comment by Mr. President — May 15, 2007 @ 1:35 am

If you’re talking about the trolls, well….they’re trolls. Who can understand them?

If you’re talking about we liberals and progressives, yes, we’re angry. We don’t like to see our country ripped apart by hypocrisy; we don’t like to see the Constitution treated like a “god damned piece of paper”; we don’t like to see our military thrown into a meat grinder for GWB’s vanity war for oil; we don’t like seeing our education system getting so warped that it pumps out functionally illiterate graduates; we don’t like seeing jobs leaving this country, with nothing to replace them; we don’t like to see the middle class disappearing, and the poor getting poorer.

Maybe that’s just me, but it f*cking pisses me off.
