Right-wing radio host Laura Schlessinger, “in Salt Lake City on Friday to speak to Army families at Fort Douglas, said she was tired of hearing the complaints of lonely and overwhelmed military wives whose husbands are deployed. ‘He could come back without arms, legs or eyeballs, and you’re (whining)?‘ Schlessinger asked before taking the stage at the base theater to host her daily program on ethics, morals and values. ‘You’re not dodging bullets, so I don’t want to hear any whining — that’s my message to them.’”

I heard her tell a woman who was obviously deeply depressed (she had said she could hardly get out of bed in the morning) that she was nothing but a whiner and a slacker and she had no one to blame for her problems but herself. And she continued to berate this poor woman for about 5 more minutes. When I got to my destination I called the radio station I had been listening to and told them what I thought of "Dr. Laura" (she supposedly had a doctorate in physical education). The lady I talked to said that they had complaints about her daily but the owner of the radio station loved her.
I haven't thought about her in years but now that I think about it, she reminds me a lot of Ann Coulter. They are both very evil women.

The Lebanon war, was at least vaguely justified by the kidnap of Israelli military personel, the Iraq war was justified by outright lies.
America is America's responsibility, and besides there are louder voices in America's political landscape speaking from Saudi Arabia.

When he was trying to explain the circumstances, she only admonished him with "everyone has a story" and basically shamed him into committing to returning to Iraq himself. Such compassion.

She could not be speaking at these bases, to these wives without an invitation of the post and or the wives and the consent of the leadership. Why would anyone be surprised that when they knowingly invite a rabid dog into their home that it bites them?
And Schlesinger is not a nutritionist. The article says that her PhD is in physiology but it is actually in physical education. It aslo says that she was a family therapist in Cali. If that is true then any Californian looking for a therapist might want to check very closely the credentials of any potential therapist.

What she is saying is absolutely true. These women need to butch up and stop feeling sorry for themselves. They need to steel themselves while living as productive and fully as they possibly can. But I feel humble, as I really didn't think it took much effort to see the similiarity between VileVenus' complaints about her"whining sister-in-law" and other so-called "whining" by progs/liberals and the very hypocritical Dr. Laura. As the younger one in the Army is deployed in dangerous areas, it is probably just a matter of time until he comes home minus limbs or in a coffin. Or totally messed up psychologically. As they grow older and wiser most people naturally grow more conservative and trend to the right as they have had more time to think through the issues. Not one person here has demonstrated they have thought through the doctor's advise. Perhaps they think it would be best for these woman to wail through the night in their loneliness and make everyone they come into contact with miserable and guilty, including their husbands in harms way.
