The Orlando Sentinel reports:
In what could be a congressional first, U.S. Rep. Ric Keller of Orlando quoted early hip-hop star LL Cool J on the House floor to prove he was a longstanding supporter of a police funding measure.
“Don’t call it a comeback, I’ve been here for years,” said the conservative Republican lawmaker, citing the classic hit “Mama Said Knock You Out” from the early 1990s album of the same name.
"I like big butts and I cannot lie!"
May 15th, 2007 at 5:02 pmUm, why?
How embarrassing.
May 15th, 2007 at 5:06 pmI doubt he did it intentionally, he was just making a statement.
May 15th, 2007 at 5:08 pm"He then launched into 'You Be Illin' and 'FTP' and did a Karl Rove-like honky dance..."
Why, oh WHY are these idiots always from my state??? Fortunately I live in one of the only Democratic enclaves but STILL!

May 15th, 2007 at 5:12 pmOh, dear.
May 15th, 2007 at 5:12 pmA better choice would have been any of these songs from Public Enemy:
"Don't Truss It"
May 15th, 2007 at 5:17 pm"Don't Believe the Hype"
"She Watch Channel Zero"
"Welcome to the Terrordome"
Maybe he will sing "Hits from the Bong" next.
May 15th, 2007 at 5:19 pmFound this today :
For a fresher democracy try ImpeachMINT!
Let your Congressional representatives know how you feel about Impeachment by sending them an ImpeachMINT!.
I am definately sending some to my CongressCritter.
Pelosi needs people in her district to send her a few cases of them.
May 15th, 2007 at 5:20 pmSince he was trying to indicate support for a police funding measure, why not something from The Police themselves?
May 15th, 2007 at 5:23 pmLike, say, "Synchronicity II"
WTF?
May 15th, 2007 at 5:24 pmto quote tobias funke: "d0uche chill"
May 15th, 2007 at 5:24 pmI was thinking perhaps "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nothin' to F*ck Wit."
May 15th, 2007 at 5:25 pmUm, why?

May 16th, 2007 at 5:12 pmKeller was trying to bring some levity to the house floor (one of his trademarks if you pay attention). If your knee-jerk reaction was to think he's an idiot (instead of funny) for quotting LL Cool J on the floor, you know your partisanship has gotten the better of you.
