Brownback thinks he has a uterus.

Brownback thinks he has a uterus.»

During last night’s presidential debate, Sen. Sam Brownback (R-KS) repeatedly motioned to his stomach to argue against pro-choice policies. “Here in the womb,” he said, there “is a child that we’re talking about doing this to.” Brownback argued specifically for prohibiting rape and incest victims from obtaining an abortion. Watch it:

Screenshot

No matter how much Brownback gesticulates, there will never be a child in his “womb.”

Digg It!

Transcript:

BROWNBACK: And I think that’s the thing we’ve got to really look at here, is, what are we doing? We talk about abortion, but abortion is a procedure. This is a life that we’re talking about. And it’s a terrible situation where there’s a rape that’s involved or incest.

But it nonetheless remains that this is a child that we’re talking about doing this to, of ending the life of this child. Will that make the woman in a better situation if that’s what takes place? And I don’t think so, and I think we can explain it when we look at it for what it is: a beautiful child of a loving God, that we ought to protect in all circumstances in all places, here in the womb, somebody that’s struggling in poverty, a family that’s struggling. We should work and look at all life, be pro-life and whole-life for everybody.

Hey, what the hell, right? The woman would be just as raped if she had an abortion, so why not force her to carry and give birth to her rapist’s offspring. It’s not about her when she gets raped, why should it be about her when she’s pregnant because of a rape?

No, no, no. They couldn’t go to Purgatory because that’s where minor sinners go, and babies are pure of personal sins yet Guilty of Original Sin. you are right, this is a hate fest from the left wingers, like you, towards Christianity.

Left wingers attack, make fun of, etc, etc anyone that disagrees with their ideologies, but God help he/she who dares question the left wing ideology or who is a Christian. You will feel the wrath of the left wingers who claim to be compassionate, tolerant, open minded, and to accept all point of views.

funny enough, as it is always shown in left wing blogs that talk about Christianity, the left only loves Islam, but hates Christianty.

you Christianphobes, and intolerant, closed minded bigots.

Not just Christianity. ALL organized religion. ALL OF THEM. Your religion doesn’t make you any more or any less loony than other religions. You religion doesn’t get any more or any less respect from me. Christians are no better than Muslims, who are no better than Jews, who are no better than snake dancers. You are all crazy.

  91. Bluedog49 Says:

unbelievable, Hitchhiker’s guide is a very fun book. “The Wanting Seed” is part of a group of stories Burgess wrote in the late 50’s and early 60’s as cautionary tales he wanted to tell before he died. It was written about the same time he did “A Clockwork Orange.” A doctor told him he only had a few years to live. The doctor was wrong, but Burgess cranked out some great work under the fear of dying early. It’s a classic.

  99. unbelievable Says:

“As oppose to Muslims who teach their children how to become suicide bombers, right?”

All monotheistic religions are equally absurd, dangerous and pointless. I reject them all equally - not just your crazy variety.

” You consider taking a child to get to know Jesus Christ a form of mental abuse.”

Considering the guy is DEAD? Yep. Read the bible. All of it. Jesus could be a real douche bag if you weren’t into his sermons.

“Yet you support the Palestinian families that teach their children how to kill Jews. Nice, only a Libtard would say such idiotic things”

Actually, YOU said that. I did not.

“WRONG! if you felt guilty that is on you child. The Church just tells you that there is wrong and right.”

RIGHT! LOL You need your diaper changed again Mr Crankypants…

No, it was stupid dogmatic lies that feelings of sexuality during puberty were a sin. They aren’t. It’s a natural human feeling.

    Right and Wrong are subjective.

“If you do wrong, there are consequences, if you do right, there are consequences. How you feel when you act, that is on you. Not much of a thinker are you, eh? quite obvious”

LOL. That’s hilarious. You actually just regurgitated the church propaganda, without thinking, and then accused me of not being a thinker. All thinking men (and women) are atheists and agnostics.

“No one forces you to give up anything. Complete and utter lie! You give it up willingly and if you don’t want to, that is ok too.”

And then you’d be told to feel guilty…. LOL

“I think you weren’t a Catholic and don’t knnow much about the Roman catholic Church.”

I was as Roman Catholic as it gets. I’m even half Italian. You just can’t stand that people like me walked away, and are happier, more moral and don’t crap their pants.

“The only thing that the Church says you must give up during Lent is eating meat on Fridays and eating one regular meal on each Friday of lent and Ash Wednesday. And even this, depending on the age and health of the individual doesn’t need to be given up.”

Stupid custom regardless. There’s already enough unnecessary suffering in the world - why inflict moreon yourself for some dead guy? Beyond stupid.

“Why do you lie? You obviously don’t have a clue about the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings————————————-

Dawkins seems pretty hardcore Atheist to me. I thought he said that the only difference between an Atheist and an Agnostic is ‘guts’… I suppose we could ‘google’ it.

I have to say that I think there is officially enough evidence against any sort of god/creator - it’s just not out in the open. 93% of the members of the National Academy of Sciences are Atheists. I think there’s a pretty valid reason why the people who live science research are convinced themselves…

There was a point (well, more like a line or perhaps a shape) in my life when I read every piece of sf I could find and was even a respected (and reviled) critic. I read space operas from the 20s and rode the New Wave. For some reason, I could not get into the Hitchhiker series. Dunno why. Lately, I’ve actually reread a few favorites from my youth; maybe I’ll give Adams another try.

Better check to see if there’s a new Terry Pratchett novel out, as well.

Hey, that last comparison pretty much sums up VTH’s arguments, lacking in all logic and common sense as they are

Good translation, Bluedog. About the only time Hater put together some sentences “articulating” beyond his/her usual “poor stupid lefties/Islamofascist-loving libs” schtick, it turned out that it was something lifted wholesale without any attributions from a rightwing site–in other words, plagiarism. Hater seems to be a neoCON programmed robot without an original thought in its head.

Watch a few episodes of the cheesy old British series — not the more recent movie. Ugh. You’ll get a sense of the rhythm of the thing, and hear that narrator’s voice in your head. Might help. There’s great wisdom in all that crazy stuff!

  134. Jack Belson Says:

I am a Progressive Christain as I said in my other comment. I am sick to the core of hearing people refer to sexist men as “religious” and I am sick of my religon being dominated by the close minded right wingers.

I think it is wonderful that many progressives are open to the fact that not all Muslims are terrorists and I feel exactly the same about many of my Muslim friends. So why cant people on the left be open to Progressive Christians like me?

Martin Luther King was a very Liberal Christian and look what he did for black people. Not only that but alot of people didn’t know that he openly admired Planned Parenthood’s founder, Maragert Sanger. He always stated how great her ideas on a womans right to decide wether or not to bring children into the world was, and how he felt that equality for women was just as important as equality for African Americans.

It is really wrong to make people like me feel excluded from the ProChoice side of the debate, when right now, it is essential that we respect each others beliefs wether we are Christian Muslim Jewish Atheist Agnostic Buddist Hindu and so forth.

It is important that we have the open mind about beliefs that we wish the people in our government would have about women’s rights.
