Well pretty much everyone wants Gonzo gone. Maybe the Republicans need to gang up on Bush in the back rooms. And if he doesn’t comply? Heck I don’t know. Give him more money for a-waring?
What a bunch-o-losers our leaders are. Powerless stooges.
If I embezzle thousands of dollars from my company, my ‘resignation’ isn’t enough, and Gonzo’s ‘resignation’ isn’t good enough to excuse his crimes, either.
Gonzo is a criminal, and needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I’m sure the prosecution will be willing to take time off the sentence if you’re willing to turn state’s evidence, Al…
Sorry Chuck, but BushCo has established it’s a country governed by men. There aren’t two laws – one for the rich and one for the poor. There are no laws for the rich.
The Republicans have spent the last eight years grovelling before Bush, hitching their wagon to him, and throwing out every bit of their agenda that he’s not behind. They have been as blindly, ferociously loyal as the Manson Family to him, and what does he do?
He spits on the party, and dooms it to electoral massacre, just to protect a personal friend and avoid looking like he’s giving in.
Ha ha. If a Perot-level third party challenger runs in 08, the GOP won’t even come in second.
Poor Hagel is overlooking one very important fact — neither GDumbya nor Gonzo nor Darth Cheney nor any of the rest of this administration has the slightest concern for what may be in the interest of the American people.
They all answer to a higher power — Big Oil, the religious wingnuts, big business, “the base” and their own selfish interests.
Sadly, there are several trolls here who have made it plain that they do not want this to be a country of laws. The same appears to be true of most of the other 28%ers.
I watched the testimony with Comey yesterday. I thought it was stunning. I am stunned but now not surprised with how Gonzales was put in the position of AG. I am stunned the level of unethical behavior Gonzales was willing to take part in – and you know that it was at the request of the President – to pressure a man in critial care (who had already passed off his title of AG to #2 man under him) to sign off on something they all knew was illegal, while totally bypassing the person now in charge.. TOTALLY AND OUTRAGEOUSLY UNETHICAL!! Then, to have Bush put him in the job after Ashcroft resigns absolutely blows my mind and makes it absolutely clear how utterly contemptable and corrupt this entire Administration is. They ALL need to go NOW!
Hagel is a pathetic RINO desperate for attention.
I pray that he runs as an anti-war candidate. this would be great news for the Republican Presidential candidates.

Oh, dear st*pid lunatic child. Your entire party leadership is RINO, that’s why Hagel and *intelligent* Republicans are so pissed at you! You don’t stand for any traditional value – instead you’re nothing more than a wing of the Christian Fascist (KKK) movement that you shunned a century ago. You’re a big old fat bigoted loser!!!
If ‘traditional values’ stands for cutting social programs for the poor, sick and the most vulnerable of our citizens, for promoting hate (especially against gays – though it appears it is perfectly okay to practice it themselves in private), hypocrisy and corruption on every level, for lying and manipulating, by putting big money and corporations before the needs of this nation, by ignoring the needs of those absolutely devasted by Katrina and Rita, by lying and manufacturing evidence to take this country into an unnecessary war that decimated a country and has taken tens if not hundreds of thousands of lives all for the sake of oil, by jacking up our national debt and spending this nation’s treasury like a drunken sailor, and the list goes on and on and on..
Give me UNTRADITIONAL values any day. The Democrats have represented ALL the people in this nation, from the poorest amoung us. They don’t just look after the top percent – the people with the real power and money – you know, the only ones that appear to matter. As for all the so-called ‘traditional values’, that is a load of crap. Words are cheap. They say all the right stuff to appeal to the right people, but the words don’t match what they do. What they do is despicable. Jesus didn’t talk of power and making lots of money, he didn’t talk of controlling the world and forcing your belief system on others, he talked of peace, love, taking care of the least of society, etc. He wasn’t afraid to talk with or eat with people who didn’t fit the ‘conservative’ mold. He showed love to everyone. I wonder how that has gotten lost in the conservative message..
The people making decisions now have taken the bible and twisted and distorted to fit their own political agenda. What they are doing now is not ‘traditional’, nor does it have any ‘values’ attached to it. I have never witnessed so MANY incidents of corruption at one time in my entire life. Each morning I get up wondering what is coming out today..
They should be ashamed and yet they can’t even do that. It’s shameful and embarrassing.
And what I had to say does not apply to ALL conservatives. I have lots of friends who are conservative, but in the real sense of what conservative is supposed to (or used to) mean. I am referring to these extreme nuts who have latch onto control of the power of our government.
They need to go before they bring this entire nation down. They do NOT respresent the people of this country by ANY stretch of the imagination.

An excellent post!
You summed it up perfectly. I was going to say “beautifully” but that would not have been the proper adverb to describe the despicable crimes of Bush&Co.
I too have many conservative friends, but I find myself a bit more distant from them in recent times, because I find it increasingly difficult to understand how they can continue to look aside in the fact of all that is going on around us.
I can certainly understand their authentic conservative values, but I don’t know why they don’t see that those values are only spoken of by the conservatives in power, and not practiced.
It’s increasingly difficult for me to hear their prayers without a private cynical thought.
I respect them and their efforts on a personal level, but I can’t help but question why they don’t speak out against the injustice and criminality.
Gonzo, stop making an ass of yourself and just resign.

The rest are Chimpyloving Repuke Crooks and Traitors.
We are a nation of laws, and the legal system needs to put these Republicrooks in jail.

The people that make the laws, will always break the laws!
Without Civilian Review Complaint boards like they have in NYC, there is no way to do anything about it.
