Army coaching recruits on how to beat drug tests.
“As the war in Iraq rages on, the battle to find new fighting men and women is waged everyday in recruiting offices. Before they can carry a gun or fly a fighter jet, new recruits must pass a drug test.”
The potential recruits are given one chance to pass their drug test when they show up to the Military Entrance Processing Station, but a hidden camera investigation carried out by San Antonio NBC affiliate WOAI caught recruiters volunteering to help recruits ace the drug test at home or in their office before ever heading to MEPS for that official test.

One enterprising young high school student from here in Colorado did this. He caught recruiters telling him how to beat the drug test by drinking stuff that flushes you out.
One recruiter was even caught on video taking a recruit to a nearby head shop to buy the drug-flushing stuff.

Helicopters are often flown by warrant officers recruited from the ranks.
So it is quite possible for a recruit to become a pilot.

many officers do come from a long list of family members who were military and more likely officers like them. But there are quite a few officers that were never rich, don’t have this tradition. And some officeres actually rose through the ranks, rare, but it happens.

Rich or poor, anyone can go to the military academies. Rich kids have gone and poor kids have gone. What the militiary looks for is grades, SAT, ACT scores. Just like any other college. the nice thing about the academies is that unliek all other colleges, you don’t pay tuition.

Further, whether fighter pilots are on drugs or not is not the issue, (in reality many fighter pilots take amphetamines to allow them to stay awake during long missions) the issue is that recruiters are acting in contradiction to an army policies.

The Army says you have to put 2 people in a month or we ruin your carreer. They have to make at least 2 appointments a day or they don’t go home at a reasonable time. These guys are under extreme pressure and no one wants to sign up. The pool of possible canidate’s for the military is aweful. Most have police records and do take recreational drugs. Lets not forget the Hawks who want this don’t sign up! their kids don’t sign up. You Repubs want to show your patriotism bring your kids do to the recruitment station, your country needs them! Sounds like some pretty absurd demands they place on recruiters. Has the pressure to recruit increased since the ill-begotten quagmire in the Middle East started?

A lawyer? when the hell have I ever claimed on TP to be a lawyer? My poor lying friend, please! put up date, time and post where I have claimed to be a lawyer. Get a clue!
Second, I stand by the FACT that recruits are NOT jet fighter pilots. That jet fighter pilots don’t take drug exams in MEPS. This is a ridiculous assertion by TP and those that prepared this hit piece against the military.

Just for fun, and because I am a little bored, let’s examine TP’s statement using symbolic logic.
Here, P represents passing a drug test. J will represent a recruit becoming a fighter pilot.
TP’s statement is:
Before they can carry a gun or fly a fighter jet, new recruits must pass a drug test.
This is logically equivalent to (restricted to matters of P and J):
J -> P
Now, if as you claim, recruits never become fighter pilots, then we always have:
-J
Using basic logic, we know that this does not directly imply -P. Rather, applying modus tollens gives us
-P -> -J
Or, not passing a drug test prohibits a recruit from becoming a fighter pilot.
Never does TP’s statement lend itself to P -> J, no matter how you much you would like it to.
