Wolfowitz resignation deal has been completed,
NBC is reporting. World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz and the Bush administration had been “seeking a face-saving deal with the board that would allow Wolfowitz to resign and escape some blame for the furor involving his girlfriend’s compensation.”
UPDATE: Wolfowitz’s resignation will be effective June 30.

Because when Wolfowitz wrote his own employment contract in 2005, not only did he demand his salary rise to that of the IMF President, but that he awarded himself a $400k ‘performance bonus’ for ’satisfactorily completing 2 years of service’. This 2 years of service happens to fall on June 1 2007, giving him a month to collect his ‘bonus’.
Note that thsi $400k isn’t his severance pay, which will be at least one years’ full salary.

This Gonzalez Gate heating up, NSA Wire Taps needing answers (Ashcroft looking like he has morals-what’s that about?), Cheney with impeachment articles to battle with, 150 Regency graduates working for the administration, Bush’s approval rating in the gutter, The War at pitiful lows, and many many more….
I am finally hopeful this will all be over soon… The Democratic leadership is proceeding with dignity and respect. Having less than 5 months under their belt and they have brought morality and consequences back to The White House-Yes it will be slow, the framers of The Constitution intended for the process to require time. Impeachment is the answer, but can we benefit from letting The Republican part implode…
