Ok, Einstein, the headline said “Bush threatened to veto a 3.5 percent pay raise for U.S. soldiers.” As usual, TP is distorting the facts. He didn’t threaten veto it because of the 3.5 percent and we all know it. It was because of the timeline. I think we ought to be out of Iraq, so don’t tell me I’m defending Bush. I’m just ponting out the obvious distortion of facts in the TP headline. As long as we all know it’s a lie, fine. Maybe you should try to keep up with the thread before you post.

uptight left – You truly are an idiot. The bill Bush is threatening to veto is not the emergency appropriation bill that includes timelines, it was an “on the books” funding bill for the military. You really do need to get your talking points straight. You are sounding more and more like a 12 year old who doesn’t know how to read.

I’ll try to make it a little clearer for ya, stupid. I think we should have left Iraq long ago. I don’t think we should be there. We should bring our people home. All of Iraq is not worth the death of one of our service people. See, that is not a defense of Bush. It is disagreement with Bush. Do ya understand the difference, bud? But unlike you, I don’t think disagreeing with someone makes it ok to lie about what they’ve said or done. No matter what Bush and his crooked cabinet have done, it’s still not right to try to get people worked up by lying about what was said. Is it any clearer to ya now, buddy? ;)

I haven’t found anything, except on liberal sites, that show that Bush threatened to veto the bill over the troop pay raise, though he did say he didn’t think the extra .5 was necessary. It appears he threatened the veto over timelines, not troop pay. Is this another instance of TP distorting the truth to try to advance their cause?
For the record, I’m all for getting our people out and letting the blood thirsty Islamists wipe each other out. Apparently a lot of Iraqi’s were happy the U.S. got rid of Sadaam, but failed to take into account the fact that they would have to take part in establishing peace by ratting out the insurgents and standing up to them.

And he ran it just as well as he would a business.

BTW: I was on a connecting flight from Denver to DC last night, and passenger “Alberto Gonzales” was paged just prior to the flight. I wonder if it was the smirking little bastard (I didn’t bother looking up from my paper to see). Does anyone know if shitbomb was out west yesterday?
