Thank goodness Wolfie was able to save face…

Another one bites the dust! I would have had a Wolfowitz resignation party and the drinks would’ve been on me! WOO HOO!

  4. toasterhead Says:

Wow - this ending was almost as surprising as Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader!

  5. Eargy Earp Says:

It seems that Wolf is as well loved abroad as he is here at home.

Next appointment? Envoy to Iran? You know Bush is going to get him connected somewhere cause the cronyism never stops.

High fives all around, and let’s put a couple of nails in the door so when it hits his ass on the way out a lil message gets sent.

  9. puttin' the gone in gonzales Says:

talk about a golden parachute…dude architects the war a smidge better than brownie does the katrina response and bushie rewards him with a 400K (tax free) salary and he fucks it up. the funny thing is that this surprises no one, not even that hot girlfriend of his.

    What? Was he hanged?

  11. dbadass Says:

Forgive my shallowness especially you ladies. The arrogance and lack of humility of this guy is beneath my capacity to comment but I must admit that I feel some rejoice in the fact that his fall and utter disgrace on the world stage was ultimately driven by a totally butt ugly lass. I really feel bad about that but I can not help but think it. It is one thing to be a total butthead but to have the world thinking “what the hell were you thinking?” Priceless. Sincere apologies to all the wonderful but less they asthetically pleasing women who I adore. Feel free to attack me as I acknowledge my weakness here.

  12. dbadass Says:

Then again, he is seriously unattractive as well. Upon further reflection, I quess every pot has a lid

  14. Wayne A. Schneider Says:

So his “severance package” includes another month’s pay, eh? Oh, well. Maybe he’ll use all that money and buy himself a new pair of socks with no holes in them.

This man should just STFU and go away. I’m sure he has enough money to never have to work for anyone again. I hope no one ever hires him for a job. In fact, I would say that everyone should boycott any business that hires this despicable man. Send a message: We won’t support businesses who employ people like Wolfowitz. Then again, any business that would hire him clearly doesn’t care about ethics, and probably even less about what people like you and me think.

Unfortunately, and as it usually happens with the well-heeled, politically-connected white-collar criminals, Wolfowitz will walk away from this situation only mildly embarrassed in without as much as a slap on the wrist. His girlfriend will share the same consequence-free fate.

Meanwhile, she laments that she felt under attack. Boo hoo.

I was in Europe a few months ago, and I had the same experience.

  20. Jay Randal Says:

I am glad that Wolfowitz has resigned from the World Bank, but he was allowed to cut a deal getting a golden parachute bonus of $$$.
He does not leave till the end of June, which is the same time Tony Blair retires, so there could still be something fishy going on. What if Bush bombs Iran at end of May or beginning of June? Would Blair then refuse to leave and Wolfowitz as well? Will war on Iran save them?

  21. mongo Says:

It sounds like everyone was pretty upset…oh the humanity!

  22. JPark Says:

mongo, what do you know about humanity? Nothing? K, thanks.

  23. fred Says:

i hope somebody kicks him right in his shriveled up little testicles on the way out the door !!!

    POS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. Largo Says:

    Good riddance, dickhead.

  27. doro Says:

What beats me is a) the thick skin these guys are having and b) their whining.

I am sure people like Mr Gonzales and Mr Wolfowitz really believe they did nothing wrong. There seems to be a genuine fault in their psychological make-up.

What is disturbing, however, is the fact that getting a career going is more and more subject to this kind of psychological make-up. I see it in the private sector as well. Skills are overridden by political prowess. A company fires a competent expert before they fire an incompetent crony of someone. That’s because the management are cronies, too.

And in the end, when things are falling apart, they don’t know what went wrong, they did everything right, didn’t they.

On topic: If I have to ask the ethics committee, if it was right to promote my girlfriend, I abuse the ethics committee. They are not there for covering asses.

  28. Tom3 Says:

    Ding, dong, that Wolfy’s gone,

Let’s all smoke a big fat bong,

Ding, dong, that Wolfowitz is GONE!!

  29. Perry Logan Says:

This is a preview of the party the world will throw when the Bushies are thrown out.

  30. wwz Says:

After his threats it was unwise in the extreme allowing him to remain in his post for another month. Absolutely foolish, IMO.

  34. Peter Says:

    I agree, Perry (30),

Think how good the country will feel after impeachment.

  35. Kay Says:

He’ll sign multi-million dollar book deal.
Like Tenet, he’ll cry scapegoat and laugh all the way to the bank.

Wolfoshitz is just another one of the Bush Cabal. Another War Criminal.

  36. Rocks911 Says:

Another grey haired hopelessly out of touch WASP leaving with a complete severance package after being forced out by scandal. Being crooked pays. America needs better, and quick.

  37. Dr. Wu Says:

I wonder how many neocon wingnut-welfare queens are going to “win” multimillion-dollar contracts from the World Bank during Wolfie’s victory-lap month?

  38. DM Says:

    #30 #35 ~ Agreed.

  39. Tom Says:

Check out Wolfie’s face at msnbc.com and click over to slate.com for Gonzo’s visage.

    See anything similar?

  40. Kate Henry Says:

“and utter disgrace on the world stage was ultimately driven by a totally butt ugly lass.”

Have you looked at Wolfie lately? He’s not exactly Mr. Handsome. The two of them deserve each other. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when his girlfriend read what he said about her (you know, it’s all her fault). If she is still with this loser, it speaks volumes about her.

  41. tarazan Says:

World Bank lover Wolfie was sent home,to his girl.
Everybody at the bank is happy that this ‘Romeo & Shaha’ play is over.

  42. Tom3 Says:

(sung to the tune of Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead)

    Dong, Dong, the Wolfie’s out

Cause he was a cheating lout

Ding, Dong, that asshole Wolfie’s out!!

  43. Tom3 Says:

We’re going to miss Wolfie’s holey socks and his comb-licking technique. And his adulterous antics!!

  44. Jay Randal Says:

I will not celebrate Wolfowitz’s resignation from the World Bank untill he actually walks out the door on June 30th. He has extorted the bank board, because they agreed to allow him to stay on for 6 more weeks and they are giving him a $400,000 bonus too. They should have fired him and forced him to leave immediately.

  45. Tom3 Says:

I heard Wolfie’s wife left him and also his whore left him too.

Poor Wolfie, all alone with his golden parachute.

    Somebody call Wolfie a WAAAAAH-mbulance.

  46. doro Says:

    # 41 Kate,

I would never like to be a fly on the wall in any given exchange of the two…. yuck.

  47. Peter Says:

    Doro (46),

Me neither. Too many other flies around, I’d imagine.

  48. Spo_K_Calb Says:

Hating the Repukian Mafia Daily (#17 you forgot my sign off)

  50. Thad Says:

“Everyone ran into the hallways and were clapping and hugging each other.”

Huh. That’s about how we reacted in the dorms at Northern Arizona U when the D-backs won the World Series.

  51. Uosdwis Says:

Ding dong, the ‘Witz is gone
    Which old ‘Witz?
    The Wolf-o-witz!

  52. Triumph Says:

    #50

That’s cold, Thad …. (Comment by Triumph, … a lifelong Yankee fan …)

But … celebrating the departure of Wolfowitz is worth the nasty 2001 World Series flashbacks !!! …

    :-)

  53. nullaeskylos Says:

Why are you cheering? Bush puts in the replacement and it looks like Phony Blair. You think Wofowitz was bad?

  54. nullaeskylos Says:

Why are you cheering? Bush puts in the next chief and it looks like Phony Blair. You think Wolfowitz is bad? Wait.

  55. demdandy Says:

Wolfowitz is not gone. He has been run out of the World Bank by European powers and World Bank staff which, by the way, should be applauded for hating Wolfie’s lying guts so much it lobbied tirelessly for his removal. But gone? No. He will reappear time and again as long as he lives to proselytize his litany of fascism, fear, war and greed. Will he open another hatemonger’s think tank like his old pal Dong Rumsot? We must start thinking in decades, not years, in planning our counterattacks against the insidious, monstrous idealogy espoused by Bush, Wolfowitz and their coterie of PNACers. We have to think in terms of encouraging new generations of liberal political candidates who are appalled at the fact that Pelosi, Reid and other pacifists are ignoring our calls for Bush-Cheney impeachment.

  56. ernieson Says:

We can express our satisfaction at people like HoleySock Comblicker’s resignation, but there will be yet another Bush appointee crony put in the position and the process will start again.
Sometimes it seems so hopeless- the struggle to rid the world of deceptive people of authority who are more concerned about enriching their circle of cronies than they are with the welfare of humanity and the planet. Greed and power are their motivators. Death, destruction and profiteering are their mechanisms. Smearing opponents and creating fear while blaming others for their bungles are additional weapons in the arsenal.

  57. republicanSScareme Says:

He will hang on the Capitol steps if 9/11 proves to be an “inside job.”

  58. republicanSScareme Says:

    Who’s next?

Gonzo. Then Turd Blossom. Then the impeachment of King Duffus and his side-kick, “Big Bag of Shit” Cheney.

    Looks like a good plan.

    Keep up the good work.
