“I’m prepared to continue to kick their fanny until the last day I’m alive on this Earth because they have mistreated too many people,” said Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS). Lott “became one of tens of thousands of Gulf Coast homeowners whose claims were rejected when State Farm decided the damage to his house was caused by flooding.”
Or until they give ya a nice $500,000 donation for your next run…
PS Still can’t find my glove…
May 21st, 2007 at 3:15 pmIt’s amazing how cons change their tune on things when they are personally affected by tragedy.
Nancy Reagan and Stem Cell Research
William Safire and the domestic spying program
Trent Lott and the insurance industry.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:15 pmSince it effected him, he’s all up in arms. Bet if it didn’t, he wouldn’t give a rat’s a**.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:16 pmGee Mr. Lott, guess this wasn’t an issue when it only affected them darn nigras.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:16 pmTP, please cover this!
Goddamnitalltohell. This makes me so mad. We’ve been criticizing the GOP for dismissing the will of the people in similar ways and now Democrats want to give these tactics a go!
Goddamn Rangel!
May 21st, 2007 at 3:17 pmLottie doesn’t like being treated like one of the “little people.”
May 21st, 2007 at 3:17 pmIt’s nice that a prominent GOP politician is willing to stand up the corporate fat cats, but it would be nicer if it wasn’t the result of personal financial interests.
It’s like when Barry Goldwater embraced gay rights after haing a gay grandchild. Kudos, but it would have been nicer if he had arrived at that conclusion objectively rather than subjectively.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:17 pmTrent Lott was for big insurance companies before he was against them.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:18 pmLott’s just pissed because he and the bush baby can’t sip mint julips on his new porch yet…Blessings
May 21st, 2007 at 3:19 pmNow all we need to get health insurance industry reform is a couple of politicians being denied bone marrow transplants or some other treatments for cancer.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:21 pmLet us all pray!
I’m sure he won’t be doing this “fanny kicking” through use or support of a lawsuit against the insurance company. We all know how Republicans HATE lawsuits and have tried to limit individual rights to file lawsuits and capped damage awards, so surely he wouldn’t think of going that route. I guess he’ll just write a strongly worded letter to State Farm . . . that should do it.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:23 pmTypical repukian morals & ethics….it’s ok till it effects them, then they are outraged….go sit on a sharp stick Lott. I’m sure he will shut up as soon as they pay him off.
Hating the Repukian Mafia daily
May 21st, 2007 at 3:24 pmHey Lotty; Karma is a bitch ain’t it
May 21st, 2007 at 3:45 pmI agree with Lesly. Cover the trade deals please.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:49 pmthis week on a very special “110th congress”: senator lott discovers empathy.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:50 pmshow us that you aren’t taking their money first trenty poo.
May 21st, 2007 at 3:53 pmshow us, I will apologize if you haven’t taken their payoffs.
Alternate ending:
“I’m prepared to continue to kick their fanny until the last day I’m alive on this Earth because – the insurance companies and I are into that kind of kink and hey that’s just how we roll.”
May 21st, 2007 at 4:00 pmTHANK YOU LESLY!!!!!! These Democrats will sell their very soul for campaign donations. Their only concern is gaining power in 2008, and I would like for them to have it — but not these people because they are not Democrats. The DLC is nothing but the Republican Party infiltrating Democratic ranks and they must be expunged: Emannuel, Biden, Carper, Baucus, Pelosi, Rangel, and yes, Clinton. We want Democrats that represent the unrepresented: we, the people — average American citizens who just want a better life for their kids than they had, a dream that is fast vanishing.
The corporate types are all gaa gaa over this trade deal. They seem to be the only ones that know what’s in it — perhaps they’re the ones who helped these “Democrats” write it, just like Cheney let the oil companies write our energy policy.
May 21st, 2007 at 4:21 pmThis is how conservatives are. They hate lawyers, the ACLU, government regulation, etc., until THEY are in trouble, then the ACLU is their best friend, along with lawyers, regulation.
Rush Limbaugh is the best example of this. He always trashes the ACLU and lawyers, until he got busted with Oxycotin.
Personally, I don’t think Lott gives a shit about the people of his state, just his house. This is what you get Mississippians when you vote for a guy simply because he hates fags, niggers, Jews, Catholics, and liberals. You can bet that Lott doesn’t give a fuck about you, either.
May 21st, 2007 at 5:02 pm“I’m prepared to continue to kick their fanny until the last day I’m alive on this Earth because they have mistreated too many people. Normally, that would be fine with me — I mean, a buck is a buck, right? But this time I’m one of the ones mistreated. And this I will not stand for.â€

May 21st, 2007 at 5:51 pmA liberal is a conservative who’s just been screwed by a corporation?
May 21st, 2007 at 9:40 pm#12 Buck Fush; I have an ample supply of pungi sticks for your use on Trent. C.O.D. or Mastercharge, I don’t accept Amerikan Express. :-)
May 21st, 2007 at 10:48 pmLott is as honest as a three-dollar bill.
May 21st, 2007 at 11:54 pmSubjectively is how most people grow and mature as humans. Reminds one of the saying, A Recession is when your neighbor is out of work, but a Depression is when you are out of work.
May 22nd, 2007 at 6:32 amA sidenote…I used to work for the insurance industry. A co-worker of mine at a major, nationwide insurer spent her time making sure claims were cut to the bare minimum…until one day when she was rear-ended by a motorist insured by, yes, that’s right, our employer. The claims supervisor took her into his office and proceeded to tell her how the claim was going to be paid out, at the benefit and whim of the company. That’s when she told him to go to Hell and she got a lawyer. Then she went about finding a new employer.
Oh, is this hypocrisy? I thought it was when you have a President supported by the National Organization of Women and they leave the women he molests, flashes and sticks cigars in out to dry. Or that hypocrisy was a party that calls the other party racists that should be kicked out of office while harboring a KKK member as a Senator themselves and giving a pass.
