Now that matter is cleared up Wolfie should have his job back. It’s not that bad that Wolfie should resign now that his girlfriend is gone. Look everyone makes a mistake. Gonzales, Bush, Cheney and others have had to lie to protect the American people. Yes invasions are now legal and torture is ok for others but not against American soldiers. The DOJ has the right to by pass the Consitution and any law. The President is above any law of the United States as President Nixon said the President is higher then the US law or any Branch of Government. Americans elected Bush twice and as the Dems have brought the US to war based on false information Americans should fight to keep Bush as President for as long as he lives. This is all Bill Clinton’s fault as he has brought the US to war and left the US Treasury broke. For the past 6 years Clinton has taken this country to the lowest ever, he has made the nations around the world distrust the US. George W. Bush will be known as the best President the United States ever had and he should be allowed to continue to correct the errors made by Clinton.

  34. Grand Moff Texan Says:

Well, the gravy train was cut off, so she’s not going to wear the school girl uniform any more, nor will she speak with a Japanese accent. What? Did Wolfowitz think she did that for him ’cause he was hot?

Money. The only reason conservatives get laid. OK, that and lite beer. Higher taxes and beer purity laws will allow us to eliminate the race of conservatives.

I’m in the minority, maybe, but all indications were that Shaha Riza was a competent capable person with real skills. I cringed every time the MSM called her “girlfriend.” She’s not 19, fer crying out loud.

Their final kiss on a Hilton Hotel balcony is so passionate that even the chorus of anarchists in the street below is moved to stop rioting. The whole cast breaks into the showstopper “Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.”

Riza wanted to remake the ME into a democracy even more than Wolfie. I think they were ideological soulmates rather than sex-crazed lovers, lol. Somehow, I don’t think the attraction was physical. Also, he may have lost luster in her eyes when he lawyered up and began circulating misinformation, then later blamed everyone around him for his downfall. He had to be dragged out kicking and screaming, lets face it- how attractive could that be in her eyes? To be connected to a man who was a global embarassment??

I think the implication is that she got help by giving head to a powerful man…Somebody had to say it.

His “sexism”? Incorrectly using the socialist handbook and playing that card, right? Want to play the victim, huh? Yeah, that’s the ticket!

This is completely an open thread, and you’ve stated it yourself at least once while defending another user. I’ll pull it up.

Overrate yourself, go ahead. And while you’re at it, offer evidence (or a backtrack from your previous statement(s)) that this isn’t an open thread. Otherwise, you should believe that it is.

  75. Bobo Says:

I guess the incredibly hot sex just wasn’t enough to keep her interested.

  82. proud atheist Says:

Everything I have read about Shaha Riza suggests that she is highly intelligent, and dedicated to good causes. She had a 10 year history at the World Bank and was forced to leave when Wolfowitz join, even though there seemed to be no policy against open relationships. I understand everyone’s harsh feelings towards Wolfowitz, but I do not think that is good reason to disparage someone with statements like “She saw nothing but dollar signs.”.

  83. Fair and balanced Says:

Your statement proves it, it’s an open thread. So, that all of a sudden not true for your convenience? You need to be held accountable like every other right-winger out there. All common sense states this is an open thread. Give me a technical argument - how is this not an open thread?

Have a GREAT day. Partisan hack.

Jonny spews a whole comment’s worth of misogynist crap, I call him on it, and then call you on your own crap — and all you’ve got is — this is now an open thread because I had the nerve to hit back?

    You need an upgrade, fool.

  88. proud atheist Says:

    Re 83

Read Shaha’s letter to the World Bank Ethics Committee which can be found in the “Ethics Committee Case No 2 and President Papers” on page 78. It at least provides you with her perspective on the matter, something that has been completely overlooked by both the press, and the progressive “blogosphere”.

As for being dedicated to good causes, I would think that working for the World Bank is a good cause in and of itself. She has previously worked at the National Endowment for Democracy, a non-profit organization whose supposed mission is to spread democracy (as I take it, the organization isn’t without its own controversy). The Wikipedia page on her is rather sparse, but it does shed some light on her educational background and previous experience.

Part of the problem I have with the coverage is that everyone just rushed to the conclusion that she was just hanging onto Wolfowitz’s coattails and had no professional qualifications of her own. That, at least, does not appear to be the case. I think some of the statements directed at her are unfairly critical.

    > she got the promotion and raise if she was forced to leave?

As far as I understand it, the position she received was compensation for being pushed out of the World Bank.

  89. CompTROLLER V-1 Says:

    Comment by Zooey

Take a look at your previous postings. You’ve affirmed this is an OPEN THREAD. What more to I have to say? Stop dodging the question. Give me a TECHNICAL answer as to how this isn’t an open thread.

You believe that “needing an upgrade” consists of taking on left-wing drivel? You must think pretty highly of yourself. Go take that Political Science 101 course, but it won’t help because college is America’s most overrated product, surely. Fool!

    The louse’s marital status:

They married in 1968, had three children (Sara, David, and Rachel), lived in Chevy Chase, Maryland, separated in 2001, and, according to some sources, were divorced in 2002, though, according to other sources, their marital status appears to be uncertain.[4][5][10][11][8] Paul Wolfowitz still lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland.[2] After separating from his wife in 2001, he began dating Shaha Ali Riza,” — wikipedia

Clare Selgin is now shaved bald and wears insecticidal clothing, including a t-shirt with the phrase “I should have known when he licked his comb.”

The most successfull, richest people on this planet never cared to attend college, Zooey. You’re part of some false hype, that’s it. There are plenty of prominent professionals who agree that college is a clearly overrated experience. Heck, the richest man on this planet never graduated from college. He did well, but said he wasn’t into it.

Get over YOURSELF. You’re not at liberty to tell any one “what they’ve made out of themselves.”

By the way, you’re giving me free advice. Aren’t I supposed to sign up for and pay for your course BEFORE you advise me?

Not at all. Considering your need, you can consider this pro bono.

How much do I owe you?

Nothing whatsoever. The satisfaction I receive from helping out those with special needs is reward enough. ^_^

  111. brownbuffalo Says:

Thanks Paul in LA for the reply to my question!

  112. Left Coast Oracle Says:

You’re all missing the obvious: This is a case, once again, of a competent woman being pushed aside to accomodate a man.

Ali Riza was employed at the World Bank when Wolfowitz came there. I’m not surprised that she was angered at her treatment; I would be too. By all accounts she is a brilliant woman who had a job that she liked and didn’t want to be moved out of the way. I would have demanded consideration, too, if I were being required to give up a job I loved because of a situation I didn’t ask for or cause.

When is society going to stop viewing women as appendages to men who can be moved around as pawns on a chess board?

  113. Lilly Says:

Listen, Wolfie could have avoided the whole flap by divorcing his wife and marrying his mistress. Shaha must be dumb as a box of rocks if she couldn’t figure that one out.
