John Boehner Breaks Down Again, Weeps Openly On House Floor During Iraq Debate»

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) broke down on the House floor today, sobbing uncontrollably as he urged his colleagues to vote in favor of the $100 billion Iraq war spending bill.

“Members on both sides of the aisle feel differently about our mission in Iraq and our chances of success there,” Boehner said, pausing to compose himself. As he continued, Boehner began to weep openly, crying out: “After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them?” Watch it:

Boehner needs to channel his bottled up emotions towards a more worthy end — changing the course in Iraq rather than defending the status quo. Despite expressing limited patience and angst over Bush’s Iraq strategy, Boehner has been unable to put principle above party and demand a change in course.

In mid-February Boehner wept as he spoke about the need for a “solemn debate.” He then went to the House floor and proclaimed that escalation opponents were taking the “bait” of al Qaeda and using Iraq to “divide us here at home.”

A flashback to his last breakdown:

Digg It!

UPDATE: The Politico’s John Bresnahan writes: “While the issue was serious and somber, this is getting to be something of a habit for the Ohio Republican. One of his GOP colleagues noted that Boehner cries more often later in the day.”

Transcript:

BOEHNER: I know that there’s this — I know there are differences in this chamber. Members on both sides of the aisle who feel differently about our mission in Iraq and our chances of success there. I know when I came here and every two years since I’ve been here on the opening day we all stand here, we raise our right hands and swear to uphold and defend the constitution of the United States. There are a lot of my colleagues have heard me make this statement that I didn’t come here to be a congressman. I came here to do something. And I think at the top of our list is providing for the safety and security of the American people. That’s at the top of our list. After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them? Ladies and gentlemen, let me tell you, if we don’t do it now, and we don’t have the courage to defeat this enemy, we will long, long regret it. So thank you for the commitment to get the job done today.

As he walks up to the podium, he makes himself think of what his position would have been, had the rethuglicans won last November.
That is what makes him weep.

Bravisimo!!! The tears of the uncontrollable happiness for the profits of the war pigs…unbelieveable monstrosity!

  8. Angry One Says:

More on Boehner’s breakdown in February:

“We will embolden terrorists in every corner in the world. We will give Iran free access to the Middle East. And who doesn’t believe the terrorists will just follow our troops home?”

Boehner teared up before reporters as he listened to Rep. Sam Johnson, R-Texas, describe being a prisoner of war in Vietnam and learning of U.S. protests back home.

  9. Buck Fush Says:

And which terrorist would that be Mr. Boner….the ones that did 911 (Saudis) or the ones we have created (pissed off Iraqis)?

    Loser!

  11. stopthecons Says:

I wonder how many times he practiced this one in the mirror. Almost seemed real, but I know it’s all a sham. No one in their right mind could think that people, whose only crime was being born in Iraq, are our “enemies”

These criminals need to be held accountable for all the murder that’s gone on in our name since 1991.

War is not just the death of Americans, it’s more…

Boner(head) is crying for the complete failure of the Grand Old Pedaphile(sp?) party and his complete bottomless loss of power for at the next decade or more!!!

    THE GOP IS PH*CKING DEAD!!!!

I hope he has nightmares of his future in prison.

    CRY BABY LOSER PH*CK!!!

  18. Biff Says:

Hmmm, “these terrorists” that cost 3000 American lives? You mean the ones born in Saudi Arabia and trained in Afganistan? The ones who are regrouping in Afganistan and the tribal areas of Pakistan?

Nothing like a shameful man adding crocodile tears to further spread the insulting lie that Iraqis had anything to do with 9/11.

How much longer can ANYONE allow this kind of full-on lying to prevail?

  19. lestatdelc Says:

Me thinks Boner needs to take some of that new FDA approved contraception pill that reduces menstrual discomfort and mood swings.

That is soo childish, when I saw this I almost broke my TV remote because I clenched my fist so tightly!

Instead of listening to reason on Iraq there crying, but I guess they’ll do anything as long as it makes spending money on a civil war that we dont belong in o.k.

My Question: Why in God’s name didn’t Pelosi respond to this like she did to Bush’s veto?

Fed, you’re among friends. I wish you’d loosen up a bit and tell us how you really feel.

  25. Fed the Fcuk Up! Says:

    #18,

You are an idiot. Check the “scoreboard”, does it look like the neocons are losing? They just got a blank check bill through the House even though they are a minority party and despite the fact that the vast majority of Americans theoretically want out of Iraq.

If you wanna see a real loser, look in the mirror.

  28. Jason M. Hendler Says:

You hold the majority, but lose on the issue, so you turn to the solice of seeing an adversary cry - how little you have in your lives.

  29. mr. mario Says:

i think it gives our enemies comfort seeing the proponents of the war acting like vagines (as Borat would say).

wait… i just said something sexist.

    oh well.

  30. Ben B Says:

What a f*cking tool. I voted against him in 2006 before I moved from that election rigging state. Boo hoo. When are we going to stand up to the people who caused 9/11? I wonder, because from what I hear (and from the MSM, it’s not much), we aren’t doing too hot in Afghanistan.

After this week, I seriously wonder how good of a thing it was that terrorists weren’t able to fly that 4th plane into the capital and remove some of this filth from our government.

The replacements hopefully wouldn’t have been so tied to big money, and if there’s a reasonable chance that 450 deaths of politicians would have saved the lives of the 1000 or so soldiers that are doomed to die by year’s end, I say it’s a damn shame.

  31. OxyCon Says:

I’m 44 years old. In all of my adult life, the only two times I ever cried were at my Wife’s and my Father’s funerals. I think there is either something very wrong with grown men who cry at the drop of a hat, or who cry on cue. The Bush’s are masters at being crybabies. Watching Poppy Bush cry like a little boy because he knows there is no way in Hell Jeb will ever be President made me vomit in my mouth. Bohner’s fake tears make me almost as sick.

  32. Republicans are the Fear and Smear Party Says:

ummm…I don’t think there are very many people outside of the state of Ohio who take Boner seriously.

  33. 911 Dispatcher Says:

    Calling all Waaaah-mbulances!!

Please proceed to Capitol with lights and sirens.

    Boner is having another breakdown.

That’s why we are still stuck in Iraq.

Trudi Giuliani will soon be their Queen.

    > You hold the majority, but lose on the issue, so you turn to the solice of seeing an
    > adversary cry - how little you have in your lives.

    Two problems here:

    1) “You”

    2) He’s crying on his own, not because someone was mean to him.

    3) Awwww

  38. War4Sale Says:

It’s truly touching how much compassion Boehner has for George W. Bush’s legacy.

If only he had the same feeling for our troops and the Iraqi people, maybe he’d support ending the war?

  39. wisedup Says:

ohhhhhhhhh pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee ,what a sick cheap trick. My tears are for ALL who have died because of the Iraq war.

  40. Tom3 Says:

Look at the third photo at the bottom, the one on the far right.

This photo uncannily resembles a 1940 photo of a Frenchman crying as the Nazis goosestep down the Champs Elysses.

Boner is a wussy crybaby. We haven’t be invaded by Nazis.

He and his party got those 3400 kids killed. He’s the damn Nazi.

Maybe Boner will do us a favor and blow his brains out.

  41. Vinnie Says:

“After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on?”

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this very clearly implying that the people that conducted 9/11 are in Iraq? Isn’t this the brain-dead argument that even the great George Bush recently renounced? Shouldn’t we be in Saudi Arabia if we really want to take them on?

  42. LandSurveyor Says:

    Osama and Zawaqhiri!!!

    It’s not complicated.

They killed the 3000 they cry for!!!

  43. We'rethelosers Says:

What a worm! Crocodile tears… blah blah blah!

  44. Tom3 Says:

Actually, Bonehead, those 3400+ American kids didn’t all get killed by terrorists.

Actual Al Quaeda terrorists are only making 8% of the attacks on US troops in Iraq. Thats from the National Intelligence Assessment.

So Boner is LYING when he blames terrorists for all those deaths.

Most of them were caused by insurgents, Iraqis who are fighting for their freedom from the oppressors who illegally occupy them.

    And those oppressors are US.

  45. Fed the Fcuk Up! Says:

    #25,

This is how I feel: I have been a vocal opponent of the Iraq Genocide Project from the get go. But I was in the minority.

    and thousands were murdered.

And then I heard that the “progs” had decided that they figured out that this wasn’t a popular move and that they were heading up the opposition. So I supported their protests and efforts.

    and thousands more were murdered.

Then I was told by “progs” that everything would be fixed in the 2004 election. But that didn’t go well and the “progs” promised to re-double their efforts.

    and thousands more were murdered.

Then came the 2006 election and the democrats won a majority in both houses and everybody celebrated and anxiously looked forward to Jan 07 when the new sheriff was supposed to arrive.

    and thousands more were murdered.

January 2007 has come and passed and now in May of 2007 the Democrat controlled House of Representatives just voted to not just renew the funding for the “war” but they even increased the funding beyond what was requested, and there is no end in sight.

So as I sit here glaring forward at what I know means that thousands more are about to be murdered, I am furious at myself for believing the progs and the dems.

Now, the progs are already starting with the “well, I guess this means that we gotta start working on 2008.”

and thousands more will be murdered and I’m thinking that it’s time to bring the war home. Because until it’s your Aunt Maybelle or Cousin Joey or your own son or daughter whose dying in this thing, then Americans seems to have an endless patience with this situation. I don’t.

  46. Tom3 Says:

Let’s see 8% times 3400…carry the 1…that’s less than 300 US troops that Al Quaeda actually killed according to the NIE.

The other 3000+ were killed because we are occupying Iraq and are trying to referee a full-blown civil war.

Typical Repukes…lying and crying. What a bunch of nancy boys.

  47. Tom3 Says:

Hey LandSurveyer…can you go survey under that bridge.

Hey, dont cry, boy. Fly your ass overthere and do the walking.

  52. OxyCon Says:

When I think about our soldiers dying in Iraq, I get pissed off, I don’t cry. I get mad because Bush sent them there needlessly (for his own political gain if you ask me). I get pissed off becasue of the new dangers and threats to our country that Bush’s invasion has created. And I get pissed off at the cowardly way the Iraqis use IEDs instead of fighting like men. And I get pissed off because our troops aren’t armoured enough for an occupation. They might as well be riding around on bicycles instead of riding in Humvees, which are worthless in an occupation against the resistance.
Long ago I recommened the use of frequency jammers as a way to thwart remote controlled IEDs, and these have had some success. But the Iraqis have adapted and now use wired controls. Now I think each convoy should have a forward, unmanned vehicle equipped with Sonar to look for IEDs.

Well Well tears……You know John we will “defeat” them when we stop sending our children over there to kill their children. We will “Defeat” them when we stop trying to steal their oil and start dealing honestly with the Iraqi people so they derive the benfits from their natural resources. So now you have given him four more months to get more american kids killed for his lies. You are a corward. aAnd you know when it will really hurt John ??? Come September when you will have to pay up again to the liar Bush!

  63. Tom3 Says:

Sy Hersh was talking to Amy Goodman this morning.

He mentioned the 8% Al Quaeda figure from the NIE.

He says Al Quaeda is leaderless and is not powerful in Iraq.

Actually, we have done a good job fighting Al Quaeda in Iraq.

But they’re only 8% of the problem in Iraq.

  64. xenon Says:

Here we f-cking go again: “Mr. Waterworks.” If this congressional drama queen really wants something to cry about, he needn’t look any further than the lives of the lives his government has squandered at the expense of some of the most misguided and flawed political reasoning in recorded history.

Save it John: nobody is buying what you are selling. Stop your moaning, wake up, and do something productive for a change rather than using the deaths of US soldiers (how convenient that you fail to mention Iraqi civilians) as a guise for your diseased sense of morality and wisdom.

What a sorry excuse for a “conscionable” human being.

  65. Pete Bogs Says:

“these terrorists” weren’t from Iraq!!! and what about the 3000 US troops who’ve died in the war itself??? you want more dead?

  66. DenverOasis Says:

HOW THE HELL CAN THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH THEIR INANE BS???

sorry for the caps, but this is just insane.

  67. valiant venus Says:

This thread is a prime example why Progressive politics is thought to be “over the top” by middle America and conservatives. You whiners are NEVER satisfied about ANYTHING. If the guy speaks firmly and with zeal, you accuse him of having no empathy for what the military and their families are enduring. If he gets choked up, he’s a phony……Well, one of your resident vulgarians imparts the following with such regularity that it means nothing to conservatives - but is most apropos in this instance….

    “Project much??”

  68. cosmosis Says:

Our government is falling apart because of these Repuke crooks.

And idiot trolls in here continue to try to justify their crimes.

  71. WaltTheMan Says:

With his record, I would cry as well.

  72. Prof. Mark Colby Says:

Minority Leader Boehner should be thoroughly criticized and condemned for his mindless views, but not for his expression of emotion. They have no logical bearing whatsoever on the matter at hand, which is ending America’s disastrous involvement in a civil war and America’s occupation of a sovereign nation.

This doesn’t mean that his emotion has no psychological bearing on the matter: for certain people who are unable to follow the guidance of reason, emotion may be a substitute. In other words, Boehner’s emotional turmoil may lead him to rethink his views on the war, just as deep personal suffering may teach a person insights to which he would otherwise be closed. I wouldn’t hold my breath, but I wouldn’t dismiss it as impossible either.

  73. Madame Defarge Says:

It looks like the author and Nobel prize winner Herman Hesse, got it right when he wrote, “You become what you hate.”

  74. Fed the Fcuk Up! Says:

    #74,

What a wonderfully moronic assessment. Because the coward cries means that there might be hope for his soul yet and that maybe, just maybe, that change of heart may help to bring an end to the Iraq Genocide Project.

That thought must bring great comfort to the people who will be murdered, maimed, and tortured during that “wait and see” period.

Put down the crack pipe for a moment and smell the fcuking reality!

  86. iraq war must end Says:

    UPDATE 2

WWIII Prescott Final Solution Bill passes the Senate

So far 80 voted yes, 14 voted no

    WTF??????????????????

  87. ballot v bullet Says:

In this present administration they have in the House of Representatives 257 Democrats to only 177 Republicans. They control two-thirds of the House vote. Why can’t they pass something that will help you and me? In the Senate, there are 67 senators who are of the Democratic Party. Only 33 of them are Republicans. Why, the Democrats have got the government sewed up, and you’re the one who sewed it up for them. And what have they given you for it? Four years in office, and just now getting around to some civil-rights legislation. Just now, after everything else is gone, out of the way, they’re going to sit down now and play with you all summer long — the same old giant con game that they call filibuster. All those are in cahoots together. Don’t you ever think they’re not in cahoots together, for the man that is heading the civil-rights filibuster is a man from Georgia named Richard Russell. When Johnson became president, the first man he asked for when he got back to Washington, D.C., was “Dicky” — that’s how tight they are. That’s his boy, that’s his pal, that’s his buddy. But they’re playing that old con game. One of them makes believe he’s for you, and he’s got it fixed where the other one is so tight against you, he never has to keep his promise.

So it’s time in 1964 to wake up. And when you see them coming up with that kind of conspiracy, let them know your eyes are open. And let them know you — something else that’s wide open too. It’s got to be the ballot or the bullet. The ballot or the bullet. If you’re afraid to use an expression like that, you should get on out of the country; you should get back in the cotton patch; you should get back in the alley. They get all the Negro vote, and after they get it, the Negro gets nothing in return. All they did when they got to Washington was give a few big Negroes big jobs. Those big Negroes didn’t need big jobs, they already had jobs. That’s camouflage, that’s trickery, that’s treachery, window-dressing. I’m not trying to knock out the Democrats for the Republicans. We’ll get to them in a minute. But it is true; you put the Democrats first and the Democrats put you last.

Look at it the way it is. What alibis do they use, since they control Congress and the Senate? What alibi do they use when you and I ask, “Well, when are you going to keep your promise?” They blame the Dixiecrats. What is a Dixiecrat? A Democrat. A Dixiecrat is nothing but a Democrat in disguise. The titular head of the Democrats is also the head of the Dixiecrats, because the Dixiecrats are a part of the Democratic Party. The Democrats have never kicked the Dixiecrats out of the party. The Dixiecrats bolted themselves once, but the Democrats didn’t put them out. Imagine, these lowdown Southern segregationists put the Northern Democrats down. But the Northern Democrats have never put the Dixiecrats down. No, look at that thing the way it is. They have got a con game going on, a political con game, and you and I are in the middle. It’s time for you and me to wake up and start looking at it like it is, and trying to understand it like it is; and then we can deal with it like it is.

The Dixiecrats in Washington, D.C., control the key committees that run the government. The only reason the Dixiecrats control these committees is because they have seniority. The only reason they have seniority is because they come from states where Negroes can’t vote. This is not even a government that’s based on democracy. lt. is not a government that is made up of representatives of the people. Half of the people in the South can’t even vote. Eastland is not even supposed to be in Washington. Half of the senators and congressmen who occupy these key positions in Washington, D.C., are there illegally, are there unconstitutionally.

  88. pete Says:

you are such a fraud BONER. He is truely part of the 30% of the population. ie the American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, and Nascar group that are sooo Uber Partiotic (Faux News type), it makes me want to puke.

  89. iraq war must end Says:

At what point does taxation without representation define an occupation of this country by a foreign or domestic threat?

  90. paul miller Says:

  91. seth Says:

    F#CK THIS GUY!
    THERE I SAID IT.
    WHAT A PIECE OF SH!T

  92. Blue Girl, Red State Says:

Maybe he is a phony bastard (highly likely) or maybe he has an early-onseyt type of organic mental disorder. Google “Sundowners” and see if it doesn’t look and sound eerily familiar…

  93. DM Says:

Damn you John Boehner, stop giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

  94. Prof. Mark Colby Says:

    #76,

    Fed the Fcuk Up,

Sorry, but if you understood my point, you wouldn’t think it moronic. I merely wish to extend to him the compassion he fails to extend to all the countless victims of this war. The word for this is “principle.”

I understand your anger, and I share it, but this doesn’t mean we have to lower ourselves to his level. That’s just what the Valiant Venuses of the world would like us to do. I, for one, refuse.

  95. satnin Says:

Ask nice and maybe Mean Jean Schmidt will lend you her stars and stripes dress Boner.

  96. j swift Says:

someone slap the pu**y when he does that! What does he think he is doing going all weepy. Criminy the enemy will think he is a liberal or something. What will stop the terrrrist then. You sure he isn’t French, his name sounds French, Bo-nair.

  97. Ben Dover Says:

Two observations. First, if Iraq is so important to Boner, why isn’t he in full battle uniform headed for Baghdad this evening?

Second. When Jimmy Carter openly wept over an issue during his administration he was portrayed as being weak. Where are the Right Wing jackals now to attack Boner for his apparent weakness?

  98. ValiantVenusGrewFromUranus Says:

This thread is a prime example why Progressive politics is thought to be “over the top” by middle America and conservatives. Comment by valiant venus — May 24, 2007 @ 8:16 pm

Really? And your *whine* about Edwards haircuts, and the *feminine* Dems isn’t “over the top”? You’re such a Hypocrite, you st*pid little c*nt.

You whiners are NEVER satisfied about ANYTHING. Comment by valiant venus — May 24, 2007 @ 8:16 pm

And you whiners NEVER stop projecting your own WHINING on EVERYTHING. First you *whine* about Dems are *soft* and *cry* about everything - then when one of your own exhibits these traits, then you *whine* about how everyone *whines* about your *whining*… BOOHOOOHOOO, how many tears did YOU shed - whining girl?

If the guy speaks firmly and with zeal, you accuse him of having no empathy for what the military and their families are enduring. If he gets choked up, he’s a phony……Comment by valiant venus — May 24, 2007 @ 8:16 pm

Pure projection. If a Dem like Pelosi speaks with zeal, you accuse her of being a phony, if a Dem gets choked up, you say they’re *whiny*. You’re such a st*pid c*nt - you little Hypocritical Valient Ben Laden!

Well, one of your resident vulgarians imparts the following with such regularity that it means nothing to conservatives - but is most apropos in this instance…. “Project much??” Comment by valiant venus — May 24, 2007 @ 8:16 pm

Project much? Another post where you refuse to acknowledge that this is another HYPOCRITICAL b*llsh*t post from you. You’re a fool, a loser, and a whiny little c*nt.

  99. Patrick Says:

Crying over troll talking points even…

Iraq or the Iraqi people DID NOT attack us on 9/11 and kill 3,000 Americans.

  100. Brian Chandler Says:

BOEHNER IS DRUNK. Am I the only person that noticed this? That moment when he stabs his finger on the podium and almost breaks it made me laugh so hard I had to sit on the floor. HE’S DRUNK! I’ll bet he’s a lot of fun at parties, at least until about 10:15 or so, when all the maudlin comes out as he finishes his 6th drink…

  101. tylin Says:

Never trust somebody who trades on excessive emotion to win points. First of all, he has his facts wrong. “These people,” Iraqis, are not the ones who killed 3000 of our citizens. That was Osama bin Laden, the one who’s “in hiding,” and not being sought. See, but now every brown-skinned middle easterner is now one of “these people,” and subject to invasion, even annihilation because, after all, we are far more important to the world, we rich white-skinned oil-monopolizing self-satisfied bigots of the western world.

  102. JPark Says:

I have to say that third picture looks like the Grinch.

  103. CaptainMantastic Says:

How does this marry up with you characterization of republicans as motivated by corporate greed and uncaring? Is it possible that there are two different but legitimate ways to view this conflict with neither motivated by profiteering and conspiracy?

  104. Zooey Says:

Is the pink tie his crybaby tie?

  105. angryvietnamvet Says:

the guy is a drunk…i had an uncle who by midafternoon would be singing irish ditties and by six pm would we weeping while talking about his grandma…he was a used car salesman…kinda looks like the bonehead, come to think of it

  106. JPark Says:

CaptainMantastic. Your victim mentallity is funny. Liberals are protrayed as terrorists and traitors yet somehow you depict righties as the downtrodden. What?

  107. Zooey Says:

    #107 - angryvietnamvet

I just finished watching the video, and you’re right, Boner is drunk off his ass.

  108. eve Says:

His tears are later in the day? Is he a desk drinker?

  109. Ytterbius Says:

He seemed drunk. I’d have thought he was actually drunk, but his hair was in perfect order… don’t know why I think that would mean he was sober.

  110. BK Says:

Boehner Wept. Perhaps he can add sackcloth and ashes to his
Stand-up Routine? The creature is beyond Pathetic. A true assassin
of the Republic, along with the rest of his reactionary gang of
common thugs. All of them wading knee deep in Iraqi blood.

  111. frenchfries Says:

    Unbearable.

  112. bernarda Says:

That must just be Boehnhead’s bad back acting up again. You know, the bad back that got him discharged after 8 weeks in the Navy.

  113. Merlin Says:

My father was drunk every night of my life at home. He cried just like Boehner while making all sorts of authoritarian statements, again just like Boehner. We used to snicker at his “serious performance” behind his back. The difference between these two men is that my father had no power to send other men to their deaths. Boehner does. I say he was drinking, and I am not snickering behind his back. Either way, sober or drunk, this is one sad sack.

  114. Perry Logan Says:

It’s a rare medical condition known as the Weeping Boehner Syndrome.

  115. Saywho Says:

That clip was touching! My 9 year old does the same thing when I try to get her to eat veggies! Great job!

  116. Jo-Ann Says:

Boehner is off his meds again. Where were the tears for the molested Foley pages that Boehner helped keep secret? Where were the tears for the needless deaths of troops and civilians in this ill-concieved Iraq war? Bring on the smirks and smiles as you enriched your lobbying ass. Jump with glee that you enabled this morally bankrupt administration to get away with murdering the constitution. Now we’re the ones crying.

  117. TSop Says:

Deep down Boner is imagining the pitchfork he is going to get in his butt when he arrives in Hell. That would bring tears to just about anyone’s eyes.

  118. Evil Spaniard Says:

In other news, Boehner weeped when he realized that his coffee was cold that morning, when he realized that his shirt has some wrinkles, when he realized that there was a cloudy day outdoors, when he stepped in a dog’s shit at the street, and when he saw that the box of candies in his office was empty.

  119. WC Says:

“After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them?”

Hasn’t Bush told you? We ARE taking them on. We ARE defeating them.

Don’t make him come up there and give you a good old fashioned spanking.

Geez. Your last name pronounced the way it ought to fits you to a tee.

  120. Kiki Says:

“After 3,000 of our fellow citizens died at the hands of these terrorists, when are we going to stand up and take them on? When are we going to defeat them?”

Oh, I thought he was talking about the troops that Bush has killed. Again, Republican Blowhard, WHAT DOES THE IRAQ INVASION HAVE TO DO WITH THE 3,000+ PEOPLE KILLED ON 911?

  121. Not Canadian Yet Says:

    What a wuss!

F*cking jerk, maybe if you weren’t responsible for the death of thousands of US troops, you might feel BETTER.

  122. NastyDiaper Says:

    Well he’s not a Robot.
Maybe he actually believes his own bull?
Or he felt sudden guilt pangs re Boehner v. McDermott.

  123. b Says:

Please use the phrase Tears of a Clown when referring to any future instances of weeping by Boehner.

  124. Gyps Says:

Linking 9/11 to Iraq again. Oh what a surprise.

Bush and his minions make Americans look like wimps and America look weak. OooOOOoooo….we’re so afraid of this gigamongous terrorist threat that we’re going to mention this 24/7 500 times a day for 5 and a half years. They’ve lost their collective mind.

  125. Patrick1 Says:

    What a pussy.

  126. Lucidity Says:

If Boneman is so worried about our security, why did he vote against the Implementing the 9/11 Commission Recommendation Act>. Hmmmm?

And what the HELL does he mean by “standing up to take them on?A” How conveniently he forgets the 3800 American troops who have died standing up and taking them on in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Boo hoo. Just another asshole pol. Fire the lot of them.

  127. Lucidity Says:

If he’s so worried about our safety and security, why did the dude vote AGAINST Implementing the 9/11 Commission Recommendation Act???

And what the F is he talking about…”standing up to take them on?! ” What about the 3800 American troops who have died standing up and taking them on?!

    Boohoo.

  128. Lucidity Says:

And what the F is he talking about…”standing up to take them on?! ” What about the 3800 American troops who have died standing up and taking them on?!

  129. Carl Lee Says:

The only guy I remember crying this much when he spewed nonsense when he spoke was the Rev. Jerry Swaggart. That must go over big with the true believers.

  130. Disturbance Says:

What a goofball — and a terrible actor!

If Boner really cared about the troops, he’d bring them home from the bullshit war we supposedly started to rid Saddam of the WMD’s he didn’t have.

  131. Fac ut vivas Says:

If he were a Democrat, he’d be praised for his ’soul’ and his conviction.

  132. Zooey Says:

If he were a Democrat, he’d be praised for his ’soul’ and his conviction.
    Comment by Fac ut vivas

    No. He wouldn’t.

Crocodile tears is crocodile tears — no matter who you are. Especially when you’re drunk off your ass on the House floor.

  133. Notamoment Says:

Haven’t you seen your little kid stop crying and peek to see if you’re paying attention. Then start “waaaaaing” again? That’s picture #2 above.

What a jerk Boehner is! Menopausal male or past-it?

    Ohio must be proud!

  134. Fac ut vivas Says:

If he were a Democrat, he’d be praised for his ’soul’ and his conviction.
    Comment by Fac ut vivas

    No. He wouldn’t.

Crocodile tears is crocodile tears — no matter who you are. Especially when you’re drunk off your ass on the House floor.

    Comment by Zooey

If he was drunk off of his, then you’re talking out of yours. You know it as well as I do—if this were a Democrat we were talking about, then the praise would be as gratuitous as this message board is long.

  135. Zooey Says:

    Comment by Fac ut vivas

Watch the video and tell me he’s not drunk.

Think what you like, I can only speak for my own reaction to crocodile tears — and my ass.

  136. Devil's Advocate Says:

    Crocodile tears… What a phony!

  137. sparkhayes Says:

My first reaction, almost as soon as he started his speech, was—-he’s drunk.
Didn’t anyone notice the slurred words? I have been drunk very few times in my life - but every time I bawled my eyes out.
What would happen if you showed up to work drunk out of your mind??

  138. HfLAK Says:

Drunken crying jag. Reminds me of Otis from Mayberry.

  139. The Cat Says:

Will go “fishing” in 2008. I know some great SPOTS in Ohio, packing other troops to assist for the catch. Wonder what is at their grocery stores…lol…… I already have my eyes on the catch…..lol

The Cat, who loves to corner, feast on Republican Prey! So yummy.

  140. HLaughridge Says:

You call this sobbing uncontrollable? I thought liberals whined and cried enough they knew what uncontrollable sobbing looked like.

Your best response to this scenario is to make fun of his name in a middle-school way, repeatedly make mention of crocodiles, attack his appearance (he’s tan, quite unlike the washed-out gothic artist freaks which comrpise much of your ranks), and then suggest he’s drunk. Bravo! I defer to your knowledge of drunkeness - the Kennedys have proven your ilk has the corner on such expertise.

I look forward to 2008 when all the promises of the Democratic congress are revealed to have been broken. You guys must be feeling great about that war vote yesterday and the $3.50 gas. You know, since gas was supposed to be cheap now and the war was supposed to be finishing.

  141. marlow Says:

    Lying and crying walking pusbag.

  142. big papa Says:

Bin Laden, Alzawahiri and al Qaeda…

    …ATE that sh*t up…

…Boner just gave every Islamic fighter…

    …a “boner”…

  143. bootmurtha Says:

croc tears? no, that would be john murtha.

  144. LocalGirl Says:

    The man looked . . . and sounded . . . like a CRYING DRUNK!

  145. e coli Says:

this is called a CRYING JAG by those familiar with seeing same. listen to the feed and don’t look at it…the slurred speech.

this gentleman is an alcoholic; nothing wrong with that, we all know one or two or more…

i feel no pity for him, but, we must be honest about what it is…

  146. Speakout Says:

Boner probably overly imbibed during his tanning session right before this appearance where he wanted to appear as though he was really sad and heart-broken about the lost and maimed soldiers because of his leader’s war that he’s supported in lock-step from day one. This man (?) is so pathetic.

I agree with e coli and LocalGirl that this display was alcohol-induced. We know what a CRYING JAG is.

  147. commonsensened Says:

all these comments are from more liberal boo hoo. What you people don’t seem to get is the fact that this is a man that cares about our country and our troops. Was it manly? No, but then again at least he is saying what needs to be said. You liberals don’t get it. If we went there for the right or wrong reasons doesn’t matter anymore. We have to finish what we started or really risk our security. I think the members of my family who proudly have served their country would be ashamed of all of you.
