President Bush, 5/10/07:
The level of sectarian violence is an important indicator of whether or not the strategy that we have implemented is working. Since our operation began, the number of sectarian murders has dropped substantially.
Bush today:
Q: Mr. President, are you surprised by reports today from the Iraqis that sectarian killings are actually on the rise to pre- troop surge levels? [...]
BUSH: Yes, I’m — there’s — certainly there’s been an uptick in violence. It’s a snapshot. It’s a moment.
UPDATE: Actually, as this Washington Post graphic shows, sectarian killings are actually getting worse.

its a snapshot, its a moment…. so is your legacy

May 24th, 2007 at 1:05 pmThat’s a Nurse Ratched, Momma Karen Hughes talking point. One could also say that 9/11 was a snapshot too.

“It’s a snapshot.” – Idiot Bush
You’re inability to understand what you have done is coming in loud and clear.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:08 pmand if you put all those snapshots together, you get a moving image of Iraq descending into civil war and dragging us down with them
May 24th, 2007 at 1:09 pmSnapshots, upticks, and commas…
But we’re turning a corner, right?
It’s kind of fascinating, just watching this once-great nation unravel…
May 24th, 2007 at 1:09 pmHappy Guy,
Nice work!! Impeach Murtha for an abuse of power?!?!?!? Seriously???
Warrantless wiretapping. Abuse of power.
Using the government offices and personnel for straight political gain. Abuse of power.
Signing statements. Abuse of power.
Get a life and a brain.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:10 pmHappy Guy, stay on topic or STFU. Don’t particularly care which.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:10 pmYup, just another blip on the radar.
FU, Chimp!
May 24th, 2007 at 1:10 pmHe’s only wish’s that was so. I guess when your in the Bush bubble you only know what’s spoon fed to you that moment.

It’s a number.
What is it going to take to get rid of this maniac?
May 24th, 2007 at 1:12 pmHow can it be a snapshot? Iraq’s government banned the photographing of scenes of violence and destruction, remember?
May 24th, 2007 at 1:14 pmHappy Guy, stay on topic or STFU. Don’t particularly care which.

Can I vote for STFU?
May 24th, 2007 at 1:14 pmIf what it means to be American is that you view heinous murder and torturous oppression as a “Kodak moment”, then Iran and the world would be justified in raining down nuclear warheads all over this god forsaken place we call the continental United States of America.
Murder and oppression does NOT become less heinous due to the political or religious affiliations of the perpetrators.
We either stop this murderer, or accept our complicity in the crimes. Unlike what many say, there is no “gray” area with this issue.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:14 pmOops, wrong again Shrub.
Look, you don’t have to be impeached, you could just resign.
But that’s what honorable people do, so you’ll have to go down with the sinking ship, Dumbya.
One man’s pride before a Nation’s well being!
How stupid can one little man be?
May 24th, 2007 at 1:16 pmThere’s been a lot of dead and dismembered commas under the Chimp’s reign.

May 24th, 2007 at 1:18 pmNever ending excuses… someone should be fired by now.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:18 pmI think the bushies have hit on a brilliant strategy, just say and do the most absurd things possible at every single level of the administration and people will be so overwhelmed they’ll spend most of their time trying to get their brains around what just happened. Do this multiple times a day and rational thought suddenly seems to be abnormal.I really think they want to get the populace soo angry as to cause a mini-revolt so they can impose marshal law and begin weeding out everyone who disagrees with their ideology. I wish each and everyone of them death.See,it’s already working.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:20 pmIt’s a snapshot. It’s a moment. Is it going to be on TimeLife magazine?
May 24th, 2007 at 1:21 pm#2 – It’s an alleged abuse of house rules, you f*cking retard.
Abuse of power – that is what your side practised under Nixon, refined under Reagan, and perfected under this Bush.
As for Bush, he ain’t a snapshot of your party, he’s the embodiment of the warmongering corruption you brownshirted maggots drool over.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:21 pmYou want the definition of a coward? David Sirota tells us that Democrats are trying to come with a rule to prevent the public from seeing how they vote on the Iraq funding bill.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:21 pmSo…we need to keep troops there because of Al Qaida. The question is, will we be sending the troops to every country with Al Qaida or is it just Iraq? Why don’t we just send troops to Saudia Arabia? Let me answer, Bush can’t think of a good reason to invade them first and take over the oil.

We’re doomed.
I hope I’m wrong….
May 24th, 2007 at 1:23 pmMemo to Bush: Your calculated comments, intended to downplay the death and destruction you have caused, are not working.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:26 pmToday is one of those low days. One of those days when the realization of our powerlessness is overwhelming. I had so much hope after the fall elex that we would really see something different coming out of Washington, that Bush’s madness would be stopped. No, I didn’t expect miracles, but neither did I expect the new majority to roll over for the madman, then feed us excuses. They capitulated to a man with a 29% approval rating, against the wishes of the majority of their constituents, because they are afraid of criticism. And now the little dictator can gloat and smirk through his happy little war. Snapshot that!
May 24th, 2007 at 1:27 pmWe’re doomed.

Ha ha ha. Not at all. People dont know the power they have over governments. Thats why governments have to invent stuff like patriotism and sh*t to keep us in line.
People will figure it out eventually.
May 24th, 2007 at 1:27 pmAnd they gave Hillary grief for ‘compartmentalizing’!! I get the impression that he’s really not bothered by the violence at all.
Back to work…

Well, I guess since it is not Americans doing this, or believed to have done this, my party, the left wing wackos and the media could careless.

Comment by President Clinton — May 24, 2007 @ 1:35 pm
I’m outraged by this torture manual. I’m also outraged by the failed war policy that gave the perpetrators of this torture free reign in Iraq. I’m also outraged by politicians who think that we should be allowed to use torture on terror suspects.
Happy now? There’s your left-wing outrage.
May 24th, 2007 at 3:14 pmAnd remember, Bush changed how he was going to measure the success of his “surge” by no longer counting victims of bombings….
