On a conference call with reporters last week, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), a senior member on the Judiciary Committee, “passed on an opportunity to support Gonzales, although he noted that the calls for a vote seemed to have quieted down. Asked if he would vote ‘no confidence,’ Grassley replied, ‘I told my press secretary when she was asked that … just better play it close to our vest. So, I guess I won’t answer your question.’”

CHILL OUT DUDE :)
Hey Grassley you lilly livered swine develop a spine and speak out against the the ongoing destruction of our DOJ and our Constitution brought upon us by Gonzales and the White House crooks. Anyone of you who colludes with Gonzales and Bush will be tossed from office on your ear. You do not deserve to claim you serve the American people or Justice. Stand up for what is right or you will be voted OUT. Shame on you.
May 27th, 2007 at 2:41 pmA simple question with a simple answer. More insults from our elected officials.
May 27th, 2007 at 2:51 pmYes, Grassley has confidence in Gonzo.
May 27th, 2007 at 3:39 pmGrassley just avoided the question. Pure and simple. Great!
I think Grassley's specialty is hogs and not politics as he used to be a hog farmer. His expertise probably starts and ends with hogs. I don't know about turkeys? Gonzo is one big turkey.
I thought Gonzo was all gobbled up; I thought he was history after his pathetic defense.
May 27th, 2007 at 3:47 pmPerhaps some of his constituents say yes and some say no. He is waiting to hear from as many as he can before getting a stance.
May 27th, 2007 at 4:21 pmGrassley is a poindexter chimpy leghumper who will follow ALWAYS put party before country. Just like all the rest of the repugs. Not one of them has any credibility. HOW COULD THEY?
May 27th, 2007 at 4:35 pmI hope that everyone is prepared for the return of congress with its new opinion re gonzo. What are the odds that the no- confidence vote never even comes up for a vote now that the vacation has passed!
May 27th, 2007 at 4:48 pmOnce again the dems have blown it.
Yes, Grassley has confidence that Gonzales is a good bushie that puts party before country, just like Grassley.
May 27th, 2007 at 5:02 pmpoindexter chimpy leghumper LOL!!
damn that was so funny it made beer come out my nose.
May 27th, 2007 at 5:26 pmSorry folks, I just realized my posts show me as "null" just thought I'd introduce myself.
As to if the no confidence vote will come to pass, YOU BET IT WILL. Look for it mid June. He has been caught LYING to Congress and tampering with a witness!
May 27th, 2007 at 6:00 pmNo wonder they can't find anyone to apply for all the open positions in the DOJ. No one will sign on while he is there.
Typical politician: Which way does the wind blow today, and how much money is in it for them?

May 27th, 2007 at 7:00 pm- Killa' Cam'
Senator Grassly, a simple yes or no answer please!
May 27th, 2007 at 9:23 pmGrassley has never been a bright guy, so he has a hard time sorting out that Gonzales is a criminal and must be forced to resign ASAP.
May 27th, 2007 at 10:58 pmNice poetry Jimbo-
Realize that Grassley is a R Sen in NB who ain't going to go out on a limb to cut Gonzo. Keep up the pressure. There's far more there between AG Gonzales and K Rove and Justice that we don't know about yet. Continue to urge for more pressure on the RNC emais, see Susan Ralston's recent attempt at a a deal, and Sen Grassley will fade into obscurity once again. He knows about the RNC accounts. All the R do. That's partly why he won't take a position here. DIG!
May 28th, 2007 at 4:25 amRe 16 -
Grassley's from New Hartford, Iowa, my home town. And yeah, he owns and operates a farm there. Actually, up until a few years ago, he wasn't too bad a senator, as Republicans go. Now he leghumps the chimp pretty regularly, which makes me wonder what Rove has on him.
