Senior Rove aide leaves White House.»

White House political director and top Karl Rove aide Sara Taylor, “who has been with George W. Bush from the outset of his first presidential campaign, is the latest staff member to leave the president’s employ.

Taylor cleared out her office early last week. She plans to take her skills to the private sector, where the pay will no doubt be better than the $137,000 she earned in 2006 as a deputy assistant to the president. “I haven’t decided on anything,” Taylor said. “I’m looking at a handful of different options.”

Taylor is reportedly intimately involved in the U.S. Attorney scandal. According to Kyle Sampson, Taylor was directly promoting efforts to appoint attorneys without Senate confirmation. The House and Senate Judiciary Committees have approved subpoenas for her testimony.

Oh she thinks out in the real world of business that somebody is going to hire her for more than $137,000? Only if she works for a lobbying group could she get better pay.

    She’ll get a private sector job in a heartbeat — she’s a “team player.”

    **wink, wink**

  3. Tom Says:

She just thinks she’s going to get a job in the private sector. Personally, I doubt that the judge will let her out on a work-release program while she’s serving 8 to 10 years in prison.

  4. Keith H. Says:

Grill her a*s ’till she breaks down in tears, confesses, then names all of her accomplices.

Whoo doo wee neeed on the Caase ???

“Taylor cleared out her office early last week. She plans to take her skills to the private sector, where the pay will no doubt be better than the $137,000″

And what skills would those be? Lying, cheating and obstructing justice. You are right, in the RepubiCON corporate world, those skills will be highly compensated. I’m sure that the Bush Crime Family has a job lined up for her with one of their cronies. And the requirements for obtaining that job would be lying, not recalling and obstructing justice when she is called to testify in front of Congress.

It is simply breathtaking how many corrupt individuals work for the Bush Crime Family.

  6. Jay Randal Says:

Well Zooey, if Bush really wants her gone to shut her up, then she has a job waiting for her. But no real business man would hire a Bush Regime dingaling for anything. What qualifications does she have?

She worked in the White House. That’s all she’ll ever need to polish her resume. Any number of corporations would love to use her contacts, and damn few of them will mind that she was dipped in Rovian slime. In corporate boardrooms, that slime is shiny.

  8. Jay Randal Says:

This makes me think about the young guy who dated Jenna, then Bush hired him to take care of the White House dog for $100,000 salary, then the guy was given special treatment to get into Harvard, but he had only one year of college in his background. Everybody in the Bush Regime are unqualified flunkies.

I bet she gets on with Big Oil. They value her skillset.

  10. Marie Says:

And how will she state her qualifications on her resume`?
Will she note that she is unethical, has participated in illegal activity through her boss, Karl Rove, and that she has worked in the most corrupt and incompetent White House in history?

Hmm, “incompetent” - incompetent as far as public service goes, but not incompetent when it comes to her self-interests and those of her cronies in the White House.
Sounds like she might want to work for a defense contractor or an oil company — she can wheedle her way to obtaining more corrupt deals for them.

Don’t kid yourself, Jay. Read gummitch’s comment at #7. I agree with his assessment.

Corporate America loves this type of person. The only qualification she needs are her WH contacts and team player status.

  12. Jay Randal Says:

Zooey > then no wonder corporations are run as trashy companies. If they hire incompetent Bush toadies, like Sara Taylor, then they get the stupidity work force they deserve. A ethical business man would have nothing to do with her and would laugh when she demanded a salary of more than $137,000.

  13. TexMex Says:

not to mention the D.C. Madame’s requirements, too. Female, republican and slimy.

  14. RUCerious Says:

Let’s see if I can find her resume on Monster…
    Must include stuff like
Willingness to be a team player.
Specialist with knives in the back at close range.
    Wide variety of ethical behavior.
    Takes orders without question.
    Position(s) negotiable.

  15. Ginko Says:

I sincerely doubt that having worked in this administration’s White House is a positive on her resume.

They can’t even get applicants to fill positions in the White House or the DOJ as all the rats flee the ship. I’d think having worked with these corrupt idiots would be the first reason NOT to hire her.

The Bush White House. Democratic administrations tend to have at least some semblance of meritocracy.

    Comment by Eric

If you’re hiring someone for their contacts, it’s not like they have to be able to much beyond picking up the phone when asked. And I know nothing about the woman; she may be really good at her job, doing whatever it was that Rove wanted her to do. Although Bush himself has consistently rewarded butt-kissing over competence, Rove is unlikely to hire anything but really well-trained weasels.

  18. the republic of stupidity Says:

Has she lawyered up yet? Taken the 5th?

  19. Jackie Says:

I’m sending my application for a job to the White House. I am applying for the Attorney Generals job. I have no law experience or degree. I’m willing to follow the orders of Karl Rove and Dick Cheney in all cover up criminal matters. I will do as Libby is doing and lie under oath even go to jail to keep the criminal acts of the White House going. I am willing to lie to Congress and the Senate just to keep the secrets of the GOP criminal acts.
I will hire only loyal criminal minded Republicans and Dems if they are willing to say one thing and do another. I will honor and follow not the Constitution but the law set by the mighty King George and CEO of Halliburton Dick Cheney. I will hate who you hate and I will rob anyone you tell me to rob. I will be racist and a criminal just to get a job with the White House. I will follow the policy set down over the past 6 years and make sure the US Tresury gets deeper in debt and bring the control of the Senate, Congress and House of Representatives to be solely controlled by the Republican party as we can continue in this important crime wave.

  25. beefeater Says:

So sombody with White House contacts is going to get a private sector job! That’s never happened before.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) — Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton has joined Avenue Capital Group, a hedge fund manager whose founder has contributed to many Democratic Party campaigns, a person familiar with the matter said on Friday.

People familiar with the matter reported that Clinton, 26, is quitting her job at the consulting firm McKinsey & Co. and will take a position at the New York-based hedge fund Avenue Capital Group.

And she has loads of qualifications to boot. She earned it.

  26. kasinca Says:

It is astonishing to watch the trolls defend and excuse the Bush Crime Family, not matter the issue. It is as if they can do no wrong and anyone who questions their criminal, dishonest behavior is the bad guy. Say a bunch about an moron who would continue to identify with the 13% who strongly support the President and the 15% who somewhat support the President. I think I am proud to idientify witht the 72% who think he is the worst thing to ever happen to this great nation and want to see his entire crime family in jail.

    Time to lawyer up, girl.

  29. VerbalKint Says:

#24 I am not sure what point you are trying to make, beefeater. Are you trying to suggest that Chelsea Clinton is unqualified for the job cited in your post?

  30. Lynne Says:

I’d be deliriously happy if I made half of her current salary.
    Wankers, all.

  31. beefeater Says:

    Comment by VerbalKint — May 28, 2007 @ 2:24 pm

I’m not suggesting, I’m SAYING that if her name wasn’t Clinton, and she didn’t have White House ties, she would be flipping burgers in this horrible economy that the Moonbats keep babbling about.

  32. Shawn Fassett Says:

Waxman needs to pull Taylor & TargetPoint in front of Congress when he gets back to investigating domestic eavesdropping. Also, does this part of the story make any sense? I don’t know where I’m going to be working, but I’m starting a new job in six weeks ?!?!?! -

She says she plans to take off six weeks before going to her new job.

How do you know that? Do you know about Chelsea Clinton’s education, work history, and how good an employee she is? If she’s unqualified, why isn’t she working for the Bush administration?

  34. the republic of stupidity Says:

In other news, rats continue to abandon sinking ship… details at 10:00…

  35. good grief, charlie brown Says:

Hope her “different options” include investigation and conviction on war crimes charges.
Maybe she’ll write a book or give interviews and blame the media, the liberal no-good Democrats, her teachers, her parents, etc.
She’s probably well qualified to take a high level job with Haliburton or the government of North Korea.

  36. dloberk Says:

Slips out the back door on a holiday weekend. Hmm, I would definitely call her to testify re RoverGate (a catchall term for all the scandals that point to Rover…).

  37. TheOtherWA Says:

Turns out this news was in the WSJ on the 20th, but none of us saw it.
    Political Device Goes Corporate

WASHINGTON — Political veterans increasingly are taking their mastery of sophisticated new campaign techniques into the corporate world.

The latest is White House political director Sara Taylor, a 32-year-old data whiz. As a top strategist and number cruncher for the 2004 Bush-Cheney re-election effort, for instance, Ms. Taylor helped perfect political “microtargeting,” a system for squeezing votes from neglected segments of the electorate, based largely on reams of data about such things as voter demographics and personal-spending habits.

The WSJ doesn’t say where she’s going.

  38. dean Gordon Says:

Whenever you see anyone use the word “moonbat” you can rest assured that person is no more a threat than a fly. He spends 80% of his time listening to Rush the Lawbreaker Limbaugh and the other 20% in drunken stupor.

  41. Winston Says:

beefeater: Chelsea Clinton is a Stanford graduate in history and studied International Relations at Oxford University in England. She has an IQ of about 160 and one parent is a former president, and one is a future president. Seems a bit over qualified to flip burgers.

  42. Sarah Says:

I have nothing against Chelsea yet it is obvious that she has her job through her good connections as I know of several people with 140-160 IQ’s who even have doctorates and still they haven’t done as well as she has done in the career world. However, I am happy for her as I do feel that she is up to the task.
I wonder just how smart the data-whiz Sara Taylor is feeling now? If I were in her shoes I wouldn’t be feeling too smart would you?
I can’t believe she thinks $137,000 is a poor salary for her. I would be thrilled! Of course not if it came from the Bush administration. Honestly, I am happier making nothing at my art.

  43. Frances Lee Bright Says:

Maybe … Sara and Tim Griffin.. can get busy on those “caging lists”.. to get rid of all those military black voters. and all those homeless shelter voters.. and all those Indian native voters… and all the dirty work.. they did in 2002.. and in 2004. and in.. 2006… gee.. they are so experienced… will be sure needed…. as bush has destroyed the republican party .. of Lincoln.

Or maybe they could go down to Florida.. and purge all those ‘felons’.. you know the ones… they did in 2000.. about 60,000 of them.. or maybe.. they could go and stop any recount.. by having a riot outside the doors of the recount room.. or maybe they could have a cousin or two.. as head of the Fox news room.. so they can get the election called first and put everyone else on defense… come on now.. those 50 laptops.. issued by the RNC… and.. the former sec of state in Ohio.. Jay kenneth blackwell.. and.. maybe Abramoff’s buddies.. or Bob Ney.. and the act HAVA… and the voter Id acts.. and using the confederate flag.. and abortion.. and guns.. and all those nice things they pull up.. to con the ignorant american.. into thinking.. the big boys.. are really on the poor worker’s page.. ha ha ha…. they got lots of experience… this election will find somewhere.. they can hide.. and lurk.. to do their dirty work… right?… Karl Rove.. can keep on sending them the E-mails.. for orders..

from a great grandma.. in Indiana.. with a neo con.. for gov

  44. A discerning viewpoint Says:

Requisite caveat - I am not a republican, I don’t particularly agree with either party, I’m not happy with where our country has come over the past several years under the current leadership.

But, what a bunch of idiots you are. Everything is a conspiracy, everyone who isn’t aggressively denouncing our government is a conspirator, a criminal, an unethical parasite.

Unethical for data mining information to assist in targeting voters that are likely to vote for Bush - how many cookies do you have on your computer, tracking your web activites so that advertisements can be targeted to your interests? How many solicitations do you receive after filling out an information card at some demonstration, symposium, festival, etc.?

Criminal for accepting rewards after performing well at her job - how many bonuses, promotions, pay raises have you received from your job (those of you who have jobs) after successfully completing assigned tasks? Have you ever refused to accept the rewards of your hard work? And $137K is small change to the corporate elite of any industry in our nation. I think that many corporations would be interested in her talents and skills - not the ones you people postulate, but rather her education, her background, her experience.

A conspirator for being a “team player”, for “Lying, cheating and obstructing justice.”, when she has not yet testified under subpeona? Being able to see the future must be nice, you could win the lottery whenever you wanted. Being a team player is an asset in any career, job or position you could name, from the person stocking the shelves at your supermarket, to the one delivering your mail, to your waiter/waitress; you get the point. It is rare today for anyone to work alone. Your success is assisted by those around you. This is as true for government and big business as for small business and private entrepreneurs.

Some of you have been breathing the stink of your own cesspool of paranoia for so long that you can’t remember how to form a rational, unbiased thought.
