Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

While it's nice to think what Modern Gore would be like in office, let's not forget that when he actually WAS a Senator, his record was not exactly a brilliant beacon of progressive policy. He voted to confirm Scalia, for God's sake.

that Gore thought the 2002 intelligence on WMD was decent and therefore valid reason for the war.

Oh dear, you've screwed up again. I can only conclude you have no idea what you are talking about.... mikey's strawman is very simple: he claims that Gore supported the Iraq War by providing quotations that support a completely different conclusion - that Gore thought the 2002 intelligence on WMD was decent.

Kate Henry at #54

Very well said. I wrote a lette to Olbermann telling him the same thing. I had to replay his responses a half dozen times in order to get an inkling as to what he was talking about. He also said to Olbermann that he disagreed with Cindy Sheehan but at the end of his response said that the facts and the policy seemed to be more relevant in the past than they are today, which was pretty much the point that Mrs. Sheehan was attempting to make. Gore has to engage less in obfuscation by speaking in a much more clearer way to the general public.

Al Gore may be our country's only hope to restore our constitution and the rule of law. Gore/Edwards, Gore/Obama, Gore/Clark.............endless possibilities.

i live in tennessee. the 'common wisdom' is that al gore didn't spend enough time campaigning here, but i don't think he could have ever won this state back then.

tennessee has too many rednecks, and ignorants like m12, michael, jake and ct. it's poor little men like these whose fear of emasculation is so great they feel like they have to vote for a chest-puffing all-hat-no-cattle cowboy.

go on, trolls, continue to profess your man-love for the ultimate failure of a man in the white house. it's clear you're just trying to compensate for feelings of inadequacy.

"algore proves once again why he failed to carry even his home state of tennessee. thanks for reminding us all algore!"

They troll, this is so yesterday. Can't you come up with something new and original. Next you will be saying that Al Gore claimed to have invented the "internets".

I do have to say that sometimes you trolls make me laugh with the stupidity that comes out of your mouths.

Please tell me, troll, how Al Gore could possibly lose. He won in 2000. Now can you see anyone who voted for him in 2000 voting for any RepubliCON? Can you see any independent voting for any RepubliCON? And I know quite a few RepubliCONS who will not vote for another RepubliCON until their party is wrested from the control of the neoCONS. There is no way that Gore could lose.

I love Al Gore dearly and think he would make a great president, but he still needs to learn how to talk to the public. I saw him last night on Keith Olbermann and I have to say that my eyes started glazing over. The man is so intelligent and everything he says is very relevant, but he needs to learn how to talk to the people rather than give a lecture in a lecture hall. If he does run again, I hope he gets someone to coach him in how to talk to the people. He does great when he's talking about Global Warming, because that is his passion. He needs to bring that passion into other aspects of his thinking if he is going to run for president.

And who are you guys gonna vote for? Clinton? Obama? More lite Repubs? Come on!
I know, we are all upset with our elected leaders right now, but he has the luxury of not being one of them. Let him be the smart leader he is. I agree with Gus Smith, the rest are hanging by their own rope. He is wise, in this climate, to do the opposite. And possibly give us some hope, 'cause Kucinich isn't going to make it.....:-(

No Republican candidate can possibly win in 2008. They shouldn't even run anyone in 2008 (not that they have anyone!).
