“A series of fatalities announced on Tuesday in Iraq saw the US military’s death toll rise to its highest monthly level in more than two years.” With 114 deaths so far, May is already the third deadliest month of the war, with the highest fatality rate since Nov. 2004.

The left celebrates!
May 29th, 2007 at 6:38 pm114, wow almost as many as we lost in fifteen minutes on D-Day. These moonbats would have gave up then too.
May 29th, 2007 at 6:39 pmthey mean highest monthly rate, not level.
May 29th, 2007 at 6:40 pmLet me guess, trolls. I know. It’s not supporting the troops to point this kind of thing out. OK, we get it. You can go get another bag of cheetos.
May 29th, 2007 at 6:40 pmYES. Necrophiliacs unite!!!
May 29th, 2007 at 6:40 pmOnly Patrick could see 114 dead Americans as a positive thing. Nice work my man!!

May 29th, 2007 at 6:42 pmThis video will show how the US occupation of Iraq will cause more US deaths, hatred toward America, and terrorist recruits.
Patrick1: “114, wow almost as many as we lost in fifteen minutes on D-Day. These moonbats would have gave up then too.”
I’m going to pass this on to my friend stationed in Iraq. He’s always interested in the dialog going on back home and the quality of support Americans express for them. I’m sure, as someone on his second tour, he’ll appreciate your opinion, Patrick.
May 29th, 2007 at 6:43 pmLibtards are surrender heads.
Oops, I spilled my juice. Maybe I should have listened to mom and used a spill-proof cup.
May 29th, 2007 at 6:50 pmNeither Patrick1, nor the Bush administration gives two shits for the troops in Iraq. It’s not anything you need to even consider, they throw this fact in our faces; the base, mean comments here, extended tours, vetoing a minuscule payraise, and the simple fact that we have no business being in Iraq in the first place.

cindy left a very important wake up call to us…
please take the time to read her message, if you already haven’t…
or, read it again and find something else to make you think…
it’s short enough…
May 29th, 2007 at 6:52 pm“Libtards are surrender heads.”
What are you, 10?
May 29th, 2007 at 6:53 pmJust to make one thing clear, there is a big difference between seeing a death toll like this and celebrating and seeing a death toll like this and having your previous thoughts verified.
Everyone I know on the left does not want more fatalities. However, they do feel an unfortunate sense of “told-you-so” when these kind of numbers come out. Yeah, we said “don’t surge more troops, or you’ll wind up with more American deaths with no substantial or sustainable gain.” And hey, what do you know? We were correct. Generally it does feel good to be correct, but not in this case. That good feeling is replaced by the hope that decision makers will come to realize that we have better insight than they do, and perhaps they should listen to what we think they should do, and that by doing so, perhaps we can reduce these damn deaths and find a resolution to this whole damned war.

The only one celebrating here - is you. It seems like you “rejoice” at any chance to fabricate a “smear”. What a st*pid little boy you are… Were you sexually abused, or just physically beaten? Something has made you hate yourself - what is it child?
May 29th, 2007 at 6:56 pmJust for perspective: 116,000 in WWI, 405,000 in WWII, 60,000 in Korea, and 56,000 in Vietnam.
People do die in war. Do you really care about the troops, or do you dwell on the causualities to help ensure a politically expedient defeat.

Yeah, defending the US from a consortium of world powers with the most advanced weapons and some of the largest and best equipped armies in the world - compared to a few guys out with improvised weapons and we’re the country doing the “invading”. Yeah real relevant comparison. You’re a complete ignorant Jake*ss.
You do realize that now we’re sending tens of thousands of wounded soldiers home that didn’t happen in previous wars - right? Or had the reality of the long term medical and social costs of this war never dawned on you - Jake*ss?
And for what? To attack a guy that posed no threat, and wasn’t involved in attacking us.
Meanwhile Osama is free, and you’re hear “Supporting” the efforts to keep him free, by bogging our troops down. Tell me Patrick1, were you always an “Appeaser” and “Islamofascist-sympathizer”?

This isn’t a “war”, it’s an occupation.
Meanwhile you are supporting efforts that ensure Osama won’t be caught, by bogging our troops down. Traitor.

May 29th, 2007 at 7:09 pmIf I remember correctly, the casualties (dead and wounded) for the current war only count those that occurred as a result of battle. Those that are not battle related, I would like to know how many there are. In addition, with the statistics of previous wars, how many of those were not combat related?
May 29th, 2007 at 7:11 pmAlso, it is difficult to compare these wars based on death statistics alone since we have become so medically advanced, even since Vietnam, that less soldiers die from their wounds.
BTW, if I’m correct the current official level of wounded in Iraq is 25,000. There is great cost for these wounded soldiers: monetary cost, physical cost, and psychological cost. Even those soldiers who get out without being wounded in combat will be scarred for the rest of their lives. Ever see the reaction of a combat vet when a fire cracker goes off?
So it is important to know what this is costing in human life, both those who actually die in combat or due to their wounds, and the lives of those who survive. In short, every person we send over there is a casualty of the war.

I didn’t think so.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:32 pmPatrick1:
Your doppleganger is back — they somehow twist your position supporting the troops as “celebrating” U.S. casualties, but they want “proof” that the left is actually celebrating those deaths.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:37 pmPatrick1 farted.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:39 pmThe grief and pain for the families of the loved ones of those killed can never be justified by this group of outlaws. To claim that informing Americans of the number of soldiers killed in Iraq is “bad news” and demeaning of the “war effort” is an insult to every American soldier and their loved ones. The tragedies of this administration will stain America well beyond the lives of bush/cheney/rove and all the neo-con America who must rule by killing in order to secure oil profits.
May 29th, 2007 at 7:39 pmPatrick needs to STFU!
May 29th, 2007 at 7:48 pmHis comments are irrelevant, mean and ignorant.
The right wingers devalue life so much that these deaths are meaningless to them — they value only a cluster of cells that are precursors to human beings. When that cluster finally becomes a human, the right sees them as either a drain on their resources ($$ for education and health care) or as cannon fodder for their endless wars .
The right wingers devalue life so much that these deaths are meaningless to them
Comment by Marie #39
Marie,
The right wingers are actually giddy over these troop deaths because…
…the other day their Fuhrer said this would happen…
…which (to them) means…
…the “Surge is working”…

Comment by Jake — May 29, 2007 @ 7:37 pm
Jake*ss, we all *know* you support U.S. casualties - as you know that’s someone that “died”, so you could “feel” safe in your st*pidity - even if it isn’t true! Meanwhile, Osama is alive, and you *appeasers* are busy squabbling over *oil* while radical terrorism foments abroad and in the US. For an old f*ck of 75 Jake, you’re one st*pid old sh*the*d. You’d think that many years you’d have learned something - but nope! In your case, all you got was *more* st*pid…
May 29th, 2007 at 8:14 pmThe body count is a complete fraud. The numbers given are ones that die on Iraqi soil.
What about all those that die en route to the hospital or after arriving to the hospital,8 time as many or maybe closer to 20,000 counted?
Watch the count yourself…. each time the number goes up it is only from those reported dead immediately on Iraqi soil.
It is LIE after LIE after LIE we get from Bush and Co and this orwellian media.
May 29th, 2007 at 8:14 pmTell me Jake, still posting that “fake” bio, and pretending to be 75, while acting like a 12 year old boy?
May 29th, 2007 at 8:14 pmBush does NOT care how many soldiers die in Iraq, because he uses them as cannon fodder. If McCain becomes president than 200+ US soldiers would die monthly.
May 29th, 2007 at 8:55 pmHey Jay Randal
May 30th, 2007 at 11:49 amThe only way McCain could get Elected is if He ran on the Demwit ticket with the Hildebeast and Obammayomamma . McCain is a RINO and votes more often than not with the Demwits and is unelectable as a Republican.
Hey had enough
May 30th, 2007 at 11:54 amAre telling us that CNN , MSNBS , HEADLINE NEWS , ABC , NBC , CBS , THE NEW YORK TIMES , BOSTON GLOBE ect. are the orwellian media ?
“Fascist ethics begin … with the acknowledgment that it is not the individual who confers a meaning upon society, but it is, instead, the existence of a human society which determines the human character of the individual. According to Fascism, a true, a great spiritual life cannot take place unless the State has risen to a position of pre-eminence in the world of man. The curtailment of liberty thus becomes justified at once, and this need of rising the State to its rightful position.”
[Mario Palmieri, “The Philosophy of Fascism” 1936]
“We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society.”
[Hillary Clinton, 1993]
