Zoellick to replace Wolfowitz at World Bank.

AP reports:

President Bush has chosen Robert Zoellick, a one-time U.S. trade representative and former No. 2 official at the State Department, to lead the World Bank, a senior administration official said Tuesday.

Bush will announce his decision on Wednesday.

Zoellick, who resigned from the Bush administration last June feeling “marginalized” and “subordinate,” is now an executive at Goldman Sachs Group Inc.

The President should have re-submitted Wolfowitz again and again until our so called allies got the message not to mess with us over some trivial manager issue.

Can anyone tell me if this is a senate-confirmed nomination thing or a dictator-confirmed nomination thing?

It’s appropriate the Wolfie be replaced by number 2.

Well, is that a surprise….NOT! Time goes so damn slow when waiting for a regime change.

Does Robert Zoellick have to be confirmed by the Senate?

  8. MAF54 says:

And what makes you think anything will change in 2009?

Yeah, because allies should be forced to do our bidding. The commander guy decider knows all.

    Get a grip pedophile lover.

    OH NO!!!! :O

The essays by Zoellick and Rice in the January/February 2000 issue of Foreign Affairs show just how lucky the Bush regime was that 9/11 happened. http://www.villagevoice.com/blogs/bushbeat/

Europe – please protest this appointment. Same song, second verse!

This guy quit the Chimpy regime because he felt marginalized and subordinate.

He’s no Chimpy-lover. I hope he does a good job, and doesn’t have a wife and a girlfriend.

  18. Tom3 says:

Why would anybody use MAF54 as a nickname.

That’s Mark Foley’s nickname. Foley is a pervert.

MAF54 must be a pervert like Foley.

Just do the W associate test – yeilds – he can’t cut the Congressional mustard. Ask Patrick1.

  23. KnightErrant says:

Zoellick is a philosophical neo-con clone of Paul Wolfowitz. He will be better than Wolfowitz, but that is not praise. It is like saying that lung cancer is better than cancer of the liver.

    Comment by Klerck — May 29, 2007 @ 4:47 pm

Just so Klerck. Zoellick is a younger clone of the Bolton model. You notice this one’s mustache has not filled out or turned white. This is a sign that the clone is reaching the end of its planned obsolence period. When that time comes, the mustache will fall off and the clone will expire.

  27. Jay Randal says:

See Bush appoints another incompetent crony who wants to rip off the World Bank like Wolfowitz did.

  28. irina says:

This guy is one of the signers of the PNAC document!!!

Goldman Sachs is really corrupt. Rep. John Corzine, recent suspicious car accident was one of the head honchos when they were being investigated.

I believe that Dov Zakheim, one of the master minds of 911, duel israeli citizenship was Comptroller at the Pentagon on 911 and “lost” 2 Trillion Dollars.

  29. senilebiker says:

Who says the Bush Administration is not into recycling?

Another PNACer in the same job. Please, please, find a way to stop this gene pool.

  30. Martin Gifford says:

“This guy is one of the signers of the PNAC document!!!”

After all that’s gone down, you would have thought Bush would be at least trying to appear to be free of the neocons.

I’m dumbfounded by this appointment. The PNAC connection makes it big news. I wonder if it will be taken up by the MSM?

Is Bush thumbing his nose at us?

Is he saying that Wolfowitz shouldn’t have been sacked?

Or is he a puppet of the PNACers?

I believe if you stop reading anti-semetic conspiracy theory bullshit and instead read his actual biography, you’ll find he was the man in charge of tracking down that missing money which he accomplished within five years to a 99.9% degree.

I believe that means he didn’t “lose” 2 trillion dollars, he found it.

I believe that leaves you pointing to him as a mastermind of 9/11 for no other reason than he’s Jewish.

I believe that when such pathetic, easily refuted, nonsensical and Jew-based conspiracy theory bullshit passes unchallenged on TP it make this place no better than LGF.

  32. Kate Henry says:

    “feeling “marginalized” and “subordinate,”

Well, I guess that Bush gave him an offer he couldn’t refuse. I don’t blame the guy for taking the job. It’s a cushy job. Hang around for a couple of years raping and pillaging the bank and then when you are caught with your pants down, they will give you a huge bonus to go away. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

  33. Bruce Gorton says:

You know what I like about this?

    http://www.sundaytimes.co.za/Business/Article.aspx?id=477675

After Zoellick’s upcoming nomination was revealed by the Bush administration, the World Bank’s board issued a statement outlining the “essential” qualities for the organisation’s next president.

The board said the next bank chief should have “a proven track record of leadership,” ”experience managing large, international organisations,” ”a firm commitment to development,” ”a commitment to and appreciation for multilateral cooperation, and political objectivity and independence.”

Nice, warm reception by the World Bank eh?

  34. Johanan Raatz says:

I’m happy Bush selected another PNAC intellectual to replace Wolfowitz. The World Bank is an important organ to help promote American and Western values throughout the world and we should make sure that anyone who we put in charge of the World Bank already understands the value of this.

Why is it that when the rich get together to do something about the poor its called charity. But, when the poor get together to do something about the rich its called a riot.

  36. Johanan Raatz says:

Rowland when the poor usually get together to do something about the rich is it because they demanding something of them or is it because they are behaving in a charitable and benevolent manner towards them?

I think you’ll find that when Wolfowitz was cutting off funding to certain African countries it was because that money was going to finance corruption. The money would have been eaten up by corrupt governments long before it would have a chance to reach the people.
