Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) today made an “unannounced ’surprise’ visit to Baghdad.” CNN’s Paula Hancocks “talked to Lieberman and reported, ‘He said he was happy with the progress.‘” AmericaBlog has the video.
Hmmm, then why does Joe look so… so… nervous in that photo? And that certainly is a stylish looking piece of body armor he’s wearing. Was he even in Iraq when that picture was taken, or did Joe decide to sleep in that vest the night before, in anticipation of his big adventure?
OK let’s just start with how scared-shitless Liebertwat looks in the still photo. They just can’t help themselves from trying to put lipstick on this pig. Joe: get into a 12-step program becuase your denial is lethal to others.
Can someone please tell me what “progress” there is to be satisfied with? The only way to believe things are less violent over there is through Enron-style accounting trickery.
Traitor Joe LIEberman must pay the cost of his trip to Baghdad. He must not be allowed to have taxpayers pick up the tab. His trip cost is probably several hundred thousand dollars.

Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) today made an “unannounced ’surprise’ visit to Baghdad.†CNN’s Paula Hancocks “talked to Lieberman and reported, ‘He said he was happy with the progress.‘â€
BTW, CNN…. ALL “visits” to Baghdad are “unannounced.” The press make it sound like layering up with body armor and being surrounded by soldiers and tanks is a sign of real courage.
A real news story would a politician announcing a vacation to Baghdad with his family and shunning all the military protection plus paying for it themselves. That would be progress.
Just out of curiosity, how long was Joe actually on the ground in Iraq? 5 minutes? 10? And did he leave the airport, or the Green Zone? Shit, how do we know that picture was actually taken in Iraq?
#15 Eric… what are these “indications” you speak of? would that be this months highest death toll for our troops for the enitre war? is that the indicator of success?
if so i think i’ll take your version of ‘failure’ jackass
Eric, Ever considered watching any other news than Fox or Rush? Do your research and you will see that you are being played.
We, as citizens of a democracy, have a duty to pay attention to what our government is saying and doing — and to object if we think it is wrong. Do some research about why we got into this war and then come back and talk to us. Bumpersticker soundbites don’t help the conversation.
Lieberman has been saying the same thing about ‘progress’..even before he made those trips..
The trips are just ‘photo Opp’.
This man swinging between Lib.,Conservative, independent,…and a NEOCON, all at the same time.
He is also in love with PNAC Group and good supporter of AIPAC were he is willing to take orders from.
He looks like he’s ready to parachute into Sadr city and mop up the insurgency with his cockeyed helmet and positive attitude.
What an assclown. How many dead Iraqi torture victims from the past week did he interview? He has his choice of over a hundred!
I can’t find your apology from yesterday. Remember, where you criticized TP for not posting anything about Cindy Sheehan — four or five hours after they actually had posted it?
The way this picture was taken, you really can’t see the enormous cod-piece Joe was wearing. It was the “Georgie Boy” model. Joe must have been disappointed w/ the photos.
JOE LIEBERMAN – CHOOSE SIDES.
Expose the truth behind Ariel Joseph Weinmann’s recent arrest for passing TOP SECRET American Submarine data to Israel. This case is as big as the Pollard spy scandal, and the American Media will not even cover it.
Kobi Alexander, former Comverse CEO is wanted on FEDERAL charges.
WHERE IS KOBI ALEXANDER?
Why is he in the WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM if he is only guilty of Securities Fraud?
He and Dov Zakheim were OPERATIONALLY INVOLVED IN 9/11 – THAT is why Alexander is being protected by CO-CONSPIRATOR, Dick Cheney.
The reason the GOP and Rove helped LIEBERMAN GET RE-ELECTED, is that he is a mole for the Shadow Government behind 9/11.
Reply #14, has it exactly right. This guy is pandering to the worth instinct of the rightwing. He is a coward would had to dress up to walk down the street. He claims there is great progress, but the way he’s dressed proved otherwise. Joe why can’t you get it through your BIG head, this war is lost primarily because of idiots like you who keep flying in unannounced. You go there claim victory and leave without getting a real feel for what’s going on.
If your really want to know the truth, stop taking the guided tour and go on patrol with the regular dogface GI who has to put his life on the line constantly. By the way I can call them dogface, because I am a former Infantryman who served in the United States Army. The gunts (Infantrymen) will tell little Joe the real deal and show him a good time if he’s agree to go on patrol with them. Heck, I’d strap on the old flak jacket and patrol with them myself if I weren’t disabled. I miss capping off a few hundred rounds at the enemy just for kicks.
People like Libermann should be ashamed to claim they know what the hell is going on by wearing a helmet for 1 hour and then leaving. The real heros are the guys who put it on he line, not the weak knee’d idiots who fly in for breakfast and leave by lunch. If you want to really support the war Joe, strap it on and go on a real partol like a man.
Lieberman can lie to the cameras and he can lie to his constituents and he can maybe even lie to himself. But he’s looking at the evidence of his own mistakes. And he can’t lie to his soul. Sleep well little puppet.
