Lieberman returns to Iraq.
Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) today made an “unannounced ’surprise’ visit to Baghdad.” CNN’s Paula Hancocks “talked to Lieberman and reported, ‘He said he was happy with the progress.‘” AmericaBlog has the video.

Heck, not to be greedy, I’d settle for a week with him hanging out with the journalists. He’d still be weeping uncontrollably and shaking his helmet off. What successes can you point to, Eric, and can you please point us to the stories on FoxNews.com that report on them? For 7 weeks last year, between the months of April and May, I checked the FoxNews web site every day and found not ONE “good news” story yet I understand that like the Baby Noor story, there are thousands of them.
I believe the fact that the Iraqis had several elections and voted for a new government, two “good” news stories, has been widely reported in the press.
Perhaps you can explain why the Bush administration and the war supporters bitch about no good news, while at the same time the State Dept. refuses to allow the press to report on the good news because it may allow the enemy to take advantage of it. There’s a great YouTube video of CBS News’ Lara Logan explaining the State Dept.’s refusal as described, if you’d be interested in it.
