Via Atrios, Bill O’Reilly and Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) discuss immigration:
O’REILLY: But do you understand what the New York Times wants, and the far-left want? They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you’re a part, and so am I, and they want to bring in millions of foreign nationals to basically break down the structure that we have. In that regard, Pat Buchanan is right. So I say you’ve got to cap with a number.
MCCAIN: In America today we’ve got a very strong economy and low unemployment, so we need addition farm workers, including by the way agriculture, but there may come a time where we have an economic downturn, and we don’t need so many.
O’REILLY: But in this bill, you guys have got to cap it. Because estimation is 12 million, there may be 20 [million]. You don’t know, I don’t know. We’ve got to cap it.
MCCAIN: We do, we do. I agree with you.
Watch it:
That's funny, I thought part of being a right-winger involved actively denying that we have a white, Christian, male power structure established in our country. I bet if he's ever asked about it O'Reilly will flatly deny ever having said so.
May 31st, 2007 at 10:49 amdo these fellows have their security team check the toilet before they talk to god?
May 31st, 2007 at 10:50 amif we let animals like this talk on the airwaves, no other culture is ever going to come and visit us. think about this tripe going out in every direction toward the rest of the universe. It is embarrassing being an american, a denizen of Sol 3 now. but this, an intergalactic disgrace, or dare I say it, universal?
Why does anyone take a clueless asshat like Dild O'Reilly seriously?

May 31st, 2007 at 10:53 amAre they saying that maybe we shouldn't have given the vote to blacks, women, Jews and Muslims?
The worst kind of stupid is the stupid that happens to clever people who are unaware that they've stepped in a big steaming pile of stupid. It lingers.

Exactly how are Mexicans going to break down the white, Christian, male, power structure? Once I learn how, I'll do it for them!
May 31st, 2007 at 10:55 amO'Reilly is a RACIST. He's afraid that non-whites will one day become a voting majority and put white, Christian males out of power.

May 31st, 2007 at 10:58 amso here we have orily and mackain discussing the immigration problem and at the same time our wonderful homeland joke allowed a individual who has contracted a viriulent strain of TB and whose name was supposedly on a no- fly list to enter this country "legally" and to travel within this country.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:00 amNow- just don't let these bloody fools and their fellow idiots to change the subject. The problem is the Homeland Security Agency is simply and abortion. It is a joke. They can't and for some reason wont protect this country.
So- here we are folks- worrying about immigration while rome burns!
Well, I don't think O'Reilly could have made it more clear that he is a racist, sexist, slime ball.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:01 amI applaud O'Reilly for his honesty, and I certainly hope that this is recorded for posterity. It's about time people like him dropped all the code language and admit who they really are, and what their goals really are.
I'm astonished, really, that he came out and spelled it out so clearly: he is part of the white, "Christian" male power structure and he does not want to give up that power, however ill-deserved it is. Certainly not willing to give it up to dusky women, right, Bill?
The gloves are off.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:03 amBill O'Reilly -- the new leader of Aryan Nations.

May 31st, 2007 at 11:04 amThe gloves come off and the hoods go on....
May 31st, 2007 at 11:06 amHahahaha. These idiots give us so much fun.
Forget about the white and Christian power (immigrants, most of them are Christians), thats just racist and religious-based (uh, even Saddam´s regime had more liberties for other religions that the one this a-hole is proposing)...but the male power???
That is completely gay.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:06 amI'm not too surpised by the comments, but it's always interesting when they actually come out and say what they are about.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:07 amLittle Billy O'Reilly is really worried alright.
If it weren't for the white, male power structure, Little Billy (1) wouldn't have a TV show and (2) couldn't get away with harrassing subordinates and having phone sex with unwilling partners.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:08 amThis one isn't about Bill, necessarily - we expect that from him. It's that a top candidate for President agreed with him that the white, male, christian power structure must be preserved. Sounds like McCain is pro-W.A.R. in more ways than one.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:09 amIn the past people wore pointed white hoods when they said these things. Now they are on prime time FOX news and running for president.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:10 amAre they saying that maybe we shouldn’t have given the vote to blacks, women, Jews and Muslims?

Basically, yes.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:12 amPerhaps it is time to start mailing some white sheets to Bill O'Reilly?

May 31st, 2007 at 11:12 amBut you have to understand, the pointed white hoods were simply meant to cover their pointed white heads.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:13 amHa ha ha. Nice quote by McCain:
MCCAIN: In America today we’ve got a very strong economy and low unemployment, so we need addition farm workers, including by the way agriculture, but there may come a time where we have an economic downturn, and we don’t need so many.
A very strong economy? Because the top story on my yahoo page says worst growth since 2002. I also like that he said that we need addition farm workers. I assume that means farm workers who know how to add two numbers together. But the thing that is more funny is that in the next clause, he decided to include 'agriculture' in with the farm workers. Really? What other types of farms are there? Are we talking about the funny farms that pump out Carlos Mencia types? Are we talking about the farm programs of the MLB? I just wonder why the hell he needed to add that little nugget about the farm workers including agriculture.

It's all about creating excuses for having shi**y standards as white Christian males. Blame the NY Times for their own self inflicted, authoritarian, corrupt, party of political incest. Please.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:23 amYou know what would probably help the white, Christian, male power structure to keep itself strong? Fear and anonymity.
White, Christian, right-wing males should start dressing up in sheets and hoods, and start anonymously burning crosses in colored people's yards. That should strike fear into their hearts.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:24 amWhat has happened to our usual trolls? Jake? Venus? Hello? Surely you must have some argument why O'Reilly's comments should not be viewed as racist and sexist; why his statement was rational? HELLO??

Im sure the wingers will go bonkers over this one, they still haven't recovered from confirmation of Plame's covert status.

May 31st, 2007 at 11:28 amSince when is Bill O. a Christian ?
May 31st, 2007 at 11:31 amOne would think Andrea Macris and the Falafel would have something to say about that.
Or maybe Bill thinks that Jesus didn't hear any of his dirty talk.
Oh and brown male christians(Catholics) are not allowed in this exclusive club. My bad........the key word was "white".
May 31st, 2007 at 11:33 amI've said it before, and I'll keep saying it: O'reilly and McCain, as well as other like-minded cretins, are correct on this issue - but for the wrong reason(s).
You cannot have a viable form of government, nor a fully integrated society, if the governed do not share a common language. We are a Constitutional Republic. As such, all authority and derivative law issue from the language of our Constitution. Our Constitution is written in English, and we (the English-speaking) already argue about exactly what it means (our highest court is charged, solely, with this function). You cannot express the same idea(s) accurately in two different languages. There is no such thing as an intelligible one-to-one translation. If we allow a bilingual citizenry, we loose the functionality of our Constitution and the rights enumerated therein.
Immigration should be robust and liberal. Those truly in need of a political refuge should be welcomed regardless of language proficiency. However, immigration as a means to an economic end must also be legal, highly regulated, and in the best interests of the nation.
Look to Roman history for parallels.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:36 amOf course, those comments are racist and sexist. Some people are racists and sexists. TP is distracting everyone from the issue at hand. "Oh, look! A racist and a sexist! Now don't you agree 12-20 immigrants should come into the country? H1B visa-holders, also?" "Sure, bring them in and let them stay, for I do not want to be labelled a racist and sexist," say Americans. "I'm so worried about being labelled a racist and sexist that I'll give an immigrant MY job!"
May 31st, 2007 at 11:42 amMeanwhile, Hershey just moved its Oakdale, CA to Mexico. Those were good-paying jobs taken from Americans who dedicated their working lives to Hershey.
But ... I thought Bill O'Reilly was a working class "shanty Irish" guy (whose father was a college-educated oil company accountant) who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks (suburban Long Island) and had to claw his way up (private high school, private college) to make it in this world! You mean he benefitted from being a white Christian male?
May 31st, 2007 at 11:46 ammidwestblue, that is such a false argument. Hershey moving to Mexico is a NAFTA problem, not an immigration problem.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:48 amYou would have to be naive to not have known this already.
At least O'Reilly says it like it is - sort of.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:50 amI think what he means is that he is worried about the preservation of the "White" power structure.
The fact is that most undocumented immigrants are Christian/Catholic males - yet we already know O'Reilly's stance on them.
Really midwestblue, the more I think of what you said the more I am baffled. I would assume Oakdale, CA would have plenty of immigrants to hire but they instead move the plant to Mexico and somehow it is because of immigration??
May 31st, 2007 at 11:52 amFEAR is the name of the con's game. They just stink of fear.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:53 amFace it Oreilly, the very same power structure that uses illegal labor is the very same power structure causing your immigration problem.
NAFTA CAFTA made great sums of money but did not lessen immigration..hello.

I don't think anyone is getting distracted. There is plenty of discussion going on about that. Everywhere.
These guys are racists though, and they need to be called on it. Do you disagree that major public figures should be called on for their racist comments?
May 31st, 2007 at 11:56 amThere you have it! White Anglo Saxon Protestants revealing the true reason they hate immigrants. Although there are some very legitimate concerns to regulate the flow of immigration, I think the real reason most anti-immigrant groups are so vehemently anti-immigrant is because the current wave of immigrants is predominantly Latino, mostly Mexican, olive or brown complected, though in many cases just as as white skinned as Orally himself, Catholics who tend to see the world through a prism of the lower class and the underpriviledged to whom progressive ideals appeal to greatly. Orally is absolutely correct in saying that the WASP male power structure is in peril. However, it's not going to be replaced by a particular race, color, or religion, it's going to be replaced by a coalition of all races, colors and religions all who share progressive values and who potentially can help to bring about changes not only to our country but to the world. The poor bastard WASPs desperately want to keep America white as if white is right and every other color is wrong.
May 31st, 2007 at 12:00 pmunless you have been here for a few thousand years, you are an illegal immigrant. we have signed treaties allowing you to be here, but you have not lived up to your side of the treaty so you are ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!
there, how does that feel?
btw, the white, xtian, males have f**cked it up enough, we must get the reigns of power OUT of their hands to save the republic.
we will never have any respect as long as we have white, xtian, males in charge since the world knows cowboys never grow up.
btw, ever wonder why 99% of serial killers is a white, xtian, male?

May 31st, 2007 at 12:06 pmSo what if "white, Christian, male" people want to retain their power. Mexico, for one, would go batsh*t if people from the U.S. were plotting to change its demographics. Don't act as if that wouldn't matter, either.
It's about behavior, not race. 60% of what O'Reilly says may be crap, but he's merely pointing out the sick socialist scheme going on in this country, the type that all of you advocate. Why bash him for calling you out? He should be proud to be what he is without you bums sticking it to him.
All of you take everything from your skewed perspective of history, and you are irrelevant.

May 31st, 2007 at 12:16 pmWhat these guys don't explicitly talk about is why they fear being a minority. They would tell you that they can't trust Mexicans or blacks to be fair to them, though they would argue to their death that they have always been fair and just in their rule. Of course knowing republicans they project ugly un attractive unpopular traits onto others when those traits are simply a manifestation of what a typical republican sees in the mirror staring back at themselves. This if they say a Hispanic can not be trusted to govern fairly it is simply because they know they themselves have not governed fairly. Or if they say Sadaam was menacing his neighbors, it is simply that they want his country for the purpose of menacing his neighbors and getting them into line with US Energy policy and needs.

So, they (foreigners) seek to destroy those who are successful and provide for their own common defense, as well as that of other countries, generously.

This must be what it felt like to be an ordinary German, watching helplessly as your country was overtaken by fascist, insane, racist, godnuts, who finally dropped the code words and started being explicit.
(a) The NYT and far left? Count me in as wanting the eradication of a-holes like Billo, and I am neither the NYT nor far left.
(b) "White" power structure, represented as something worth defending as a meaningful institutional requirement? Silly me, I thought America was for Americans, not for whites.
(c) "Christian"? First of all, numbnuts, do you not realize that virtually all those brown people are Christian? More importantly, you anti-American hack, if you hadn't noticed, the US is a secular nation by definition and by intent. How dare you hold up your notion of a Christian power structure as something to be aspired to, something to be defended, or something to be admired? This idea would be so shocking to Jefferson, Adams, et al, as to be almost treasonous.
(d) "of which you're a part"? Well, technically McCain is still part of the power structure, but he's so completely lost credibility that it's only a matter of time that he just blows away. The fact that he would listen to a stupid statement like this, and not call out Billo on the carpet for being an anti-American pig, is enough proof of how devoid McCain is of any remaining qualifications of leadership.
(e) "and so am I"? Oh, that's rich. The guy has a talk show and that makes him part of the power structure? Please. And the fact that it is a declining talk show living on the fumes of a corrupt regime and corrupt ideology whithering in its dying throes (if you will) is completely lost on this fool.
Ugh. I need to take a shower.

America has the right to preserve what it wants to preserve.
America also has the right to institutionalize slavery, as it once did. The question is, what is the right thing to do? What is the ebest thing for the nation?
As a nation founded by immigrants and built on the the strength and contributions of immigrants, some might say that immigration is, on balance, a good thing.
Stop seeking to meddle with its demographics.
No one is seeking to "meddle" with demographics except those seeking to preserve the status quo. Immigration is a natural force of society. Always has been. Adventurous people always seek new opportunities.
America does not want to become a third-world country. It’s not a long shot to claim, because many immigrants these days are coming from a slum country into a fully-developed nation.
That's kind of racist, to assume that more immigrants means third-world status. In fact, half of all immigration is from developed nations in Europe and Asia. Those who come here, whether from Ireland or from El Salvador, make the journey because they are willing to take great chances and risk everything for the chance to succeed. But you don't see that. You just seee that they're brown.
Naturally, it doesn’t bode well.
If you had any clue about what was "natural", you wouldn't think the way you do.

Accusing others of doing exactly what you are doing is always a good way to deflect attention off yourself. HAHAHAH....whiny brat. HAHAHAH. You're not a very good thinker. When you advocate wiping out the existence of one group to make room for another, that's a by-the-book definition of one who "think he calls the shots around here."
Oh, the irony. It only strengthens the point that you defend bums and criminals. Your creepy agenda isn't meant to prevail. Bluedog49, so creative.
May 31st, 2007 at 12:55 pm"America has the right to preserve what it wants to preserve. "
America ("the people") has defined what is the most important thing to preserve. It's defined in the Constitution and its amendments.
I see nothing in there about "white" or "Christian".
F*ck off, all you anti-American pigs. If you don't like the nation defined by our Constitution, by all means you are welcome to leave it. Or, you are welcome to lobby for change to the Constitution. But in the meantime, don't pretend that you represent or America or stand for it's defined ideals.
Why is it that these self-proclaimed patriots don't even grok the foundation of the country?

"America also has the right to institutionalize slavery, as it once did. The question is, what is the right thing to do? What is the ebest thing for the nation?"
Sometimes, there are bad things to fix. Doesn't give you the right of way to advocate genocide against Europeans. Whites took part in slavery, whites agreed erase its institution. Does that not count for something, radical?
"As a nation founded by immigrants and built on the the strength and contributions of immigrants, some might say that immigration is, on balance, a good thing."
I've said this many times: you solve immigration problems with social jargon from that of 200+ years ago. Developed countries REGULATE immigration as it pleases to conform to its agenda to REMAIN a developed country. Your mind is stuck on illustrations of pages 1-300 of a history text. Get yourself a new map. Whites were immigrants too, and the WWII warriors who came home built this nation into what it was and made it a top country for innovation and a remarkable place to do business. America does business with intelligent nations, and it shouldn't have the burden of regulating street protests of La Raza hate groups and providing welfare to third-world people. But you don't get it.
"No one is seeking to “meddle†with demographics except those seeking to preserve the status quo. Immigration is a natural force of society. Always has been. Adventurous people always seek new opportunities."
Another self-serving contention. America can preserve any status quo it wants, just like developed countries like Japan can do the same. It can strenghthen its immigration laws to remain and become more of an economic powerhouse. Hasn't hurt Japan, has it? A consistent regulation, that's the ticket. Adventurous people, like those in America, sought to develop their own country instead of meddling with someones elses.
"That’s kind of racist, to assume that more immigrants means third-world status. In fact, half of all immigration is from developed nations in Europe and Asia. Those who come here, whether from Ireland or from El Salvador, make the journey because they are willing to take great chances and risk everything for the chance to succeed. But you don’t see that. You just seee that they’re brown."
Well, I've said before that racial politics is for the uneducated, and you meet that billet pretty well. There's no way in hell, by the way, that "half" of immigration comes from Europe. I'm not even so sure about Asia. Illegal Mexico is contributing the most immigrants. I don't know what planet you live on. Racist, stop failing to see the big picture.
"If you had any clue about what was “naturalâ€, you wouldn’t think the way you do."
"Natural" isn't allowing 12-20 million illegal immigrants to remain in a country in a post 9/11 era. That's another point you fail to see.

Your use of "European" is a mere euphemism for "caucasion", which itself is a euphemism for "person with lighter skin tones originating from a non-Mediterranean subset of one of the smaller continents who think there is something special and/or superior about the amount of melanin beneath their dermis, and who believe there is something special/superior about their particular delusions regarding an ancient Middle-Eastern cult (centered around, ironically, a brown-skinned Jew).

Seeking to "bring it down"???
I'm pretty sure their intent is to make some money to feed their families. It would be counterproductive for them to have a goal to "bring down" the source of their living.
If you don't want those dirty, stinky Mexicans in the US polluting your lilly white gene pool, the solution is to start throwing the heads of agri-business in jail for willfully violating the law by hiring undocumented workers. If those stinky, shifty-eyed wetbacks don't have those glory jobs waiting for them, they'll have no reason to come over the border in the first place.
But, there is no political will to do so for the reasons stated by McCain: because hacks like him are more interested in serving the demands of big business (i.e., political contributors) by looking the other way and allowing the constant inflow of dirt cheap labor.
But you go on and be a racist xenophobe, by all means.

Sorry that I wasn't more clear - "uneducated Papist drunks with their hordes of dirty children" was the kind of language used against Irish immigrants by the majority Protestants of English ancestry living in the U.S. in the 19th century, not my own description. It's relevant because your arguments about "third world" immigrants changing America haven't really changed since they were leveled at the Irish, Italians, and Eastern Europeans 100-175 years ago.
What does "fully developed" mean? The people living in the Victorian era certainly thought that they were "fully developed". Is the United States going to be just like it is now forever? This is the other ridiculous notion that gets replayed over and over - that the country is at its best culturally and economically right now (or in some rosy recent past) and letting a bunch of people who are different is going to change things for our children for the worse.
My grandfather told stories about fighting against the Italian immigrants from the other end of town in the 1920's (where they all lived together, shopped at their own stores, spoke Italian at home, and went to their own Catholic church), my father remembers what a scandal it was when an Italian girl married a non-Italian boy in the 1950's, and by the time I was in school in the 1970's nobody gave a damn who was Italian and who wasn't. Did America change during that time - of course. Did it "destroy" America to let those millions in - hardly.
This is the same old story. The melting pot always wins.

Tony, you bring up an interesting point, but it's moot. Mainly that there is no Hispanic Power Structure in the US. Sure, every race, creed and demographic lobbys for their own interest, that's why it's called 'Democracy', right? But, lets be serious, comparing the white christian power base to the hispanic one is like david and goliath.
And on your second point, yes, anyone who takes up recources in one area but does not put any money back in is surely not helping the situation. But I must ask you, how do you know who does and doesn't 'have plans to assimilate'? Do you have a running list written down or are you just followning what foxnews tells you? Fact is, anyone who lives ANYWHERE automatically HAS TO contribute. They buy food, they buy fuel, they buy goods. Plain and simple. Do I think non-citizens should recieve free healthcare? No, I do not. I am a born citizen and I am not entitled to healthcare. So there, I agree w/ you. But please, stop feeding into the fear that everyone that is not white is gunning for your job, your wife, your daughter, and your land. Cus lets be honest, just plain EVERYONE is out to get those things from you, not just mexicans. I'll take your job in a minute, and I'm white, so, yeah, sux, but that's been the reality since the beginning of time.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:19 pmO'Reilly is right. Look at what happened after we let all those Irish into this country. We got stuck with idiots like him.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:29 pm"Granting anmesty and legal status to 12 million (6 million of them uneducated) illegals with no interest in assimilation is a bad thing for America. It doesn’t take a bigot to realize this…just someone with a little common sense."
That's not the subject of this thread. This thread is not debating the wisdom of an amnesty program (which, I'm sorry, is exactly what Bush has proposed from the beginning - is he a 'liberal loon' too?)
Rather the subject of this thread is the disgusting racial and religious bigotry displayed by O'Reilly, his anti-American assertion that "white Christians" have some sort of god-given right to be the power elite, and McCain's completely flaccid response.
I don't care what your position is on the illegal immigration problem, you should be disgusted by this kind of vomit being given credibility on television.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:38 pmFar from racist or sexist, however, anyone trying to preserve the same Power Structure that wrote the laws that have kept us the hegemonic state for decades....is OK with me!
May 31st, 2007 at 8:40 pmThanks for the poor context on this. I agree O'Reilly is being a racist, but McCain is hardly trying to agree with EVERYTHING O'Reilly has said.
May 31st, 2007 at 8:56 pm"Thanks for the poor context on this. I agree O’Reilly is being a racist, but McCain is hardly trying to agree with EVERYTHING O’Reilly has said."
Is this a response to me? I didn't say that McCain agreed with EVERYTHING. What I said is that is response was "completely flaccid". He should have nailed O'Reilly on the spot. His failure to do so speaks volumes.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:16 pm"Far from racist or sexist, however, anyone trying to preserve the same Power Structure that wrote the laws that have kept us the hegemonic state for decades….is OK with me!"
It's ok with me to, so long as "Power Structure" means Constitution of the United States. It is the Constitution that has made the US great, not white Christians. White Christians are the fortunate recipients of (a) the freedoms and fairness provided by the Constitution, (b) bountiful natural resources, and (c) early access to a monopoly of wealth and power.
It is (c) that O'Reilly is really trying to preserve. He doesn't even comprehend (a) and doesn't give a fig about (b).
May 31st, 2007 at 9:21 pmRace, Race, Race. Whites created slavery? You people are freaking ignorant. Do some research ( not on TV ) and you would find out that blacks were sold to our ancestors by their own ancestors! They were slaves traded from slavery into slavery. I am not justifying slavery by any means, I am just tired of you people believing everything you see on TV or read on your Yahoo home page. Smarten up folks, enlighten yourselves into the world of thinking for yourselves and stop following the sheperds of your biased newspaper, internet and TV cultures.
May 31st, 2007 at 9:22 pmMotengator spews...
"Race, Race, Race. Whites created slavery? You people are freaking ignorant."
Gee, I searched this whole thread and didn't find anybody who said that. Seems to me you want to invent a position just so you can tear it down.
"Do some research"
Yep, starts with reading the thread and responding on point.
Are you going defend what the pig O'Reilly said, or are you going to acknowledge that it's implications are reprehensible?
May 31st, 2007 at 9:37 pmI can't believe the left-wing crap I read on this blog. I don't care what the constitution says. I'm against immigration when there comes a point where my people (white christians) are a minority. and right now we only make up about 65%, which is too low. giving amensty to hispanics will destroy our people and our country, which we settled and made it what it is. I hate to hear "your ancestors got to settle here" or "its a melting pot" B.S. some on my irish catholic ancestors that arrived here in the late 1800's were allowed to. had they come from the middle-east, asia, africa, mexico etc. they would have been turned away. would you consider a mexican opposing 20 million white euros immigrating to mexico a racists or biggoted? no. why is OK for every other ethnic group to try to preserve their culture except for us and other european countries. I don't see us whites immigrating to mexico, asia, africa or the middle-east. we would not be allowed. the NY Times are such hypocrites. according to them its OK and not racist to make this country more racial diverse and try to deplete the overall white population, but god for bid if anyone is critical to the state of israel and their racists ways. a jewish state, exclusivly for jews, where its against the law for jew to marry another jew. they are the chosen ones and everyone else is inferior to thm. it you critize the jews and their racism, the NY Times will call you the most evil thing, an antisemite. what a bunch of hypocrites and parasites
May 31st, 2007 at 10:35 pmThe white European power structure is what has built the US and Western countries. You don't see African or Latin American countries doing very well.
May 31st, 2007 at 11:28 pmThat's not racist either, just facts. Once the Bolivians, Peruvians, Nigerians, Sudanese start building jets, computers and planning trips to the moon, then we can talk. Until then, they don't really know what they're doing and can barely feed their people or pave a street.
Lets just hope that certain Americans realizes that not supporting illegal immigration isn't being racist. Anyway, White Power kids.
June 1st, 2007 at 2:17 amI'm a conservative and I think the WASP "power structure" has its day's counted, but I differ from this talking head in thinking it is a good thing for America because we should all agree all men are created equal. Anti american trolls and tv pundits need to study up on their American history. I see the "white man" as being greedy, materialistic, bad for the environment, bad for peace, bad for morality, etc., etc.. I could go on and on and on. Also it is good to see McCains true colors come out on national tv, may this come back to haunt him as he tries to get the Latino and black votes.
Btw, reading this thread has been difficult with all the troll posts, could Think Progress ban them or at least delete their posts so reading this site can be more productive to those of us with limited time on our hands. Thanks in advance!

June 1st, 2007 at 2:43 amWow, the animals have really come out of their cages on this thread.
mjeid:
I don’t care what the constitution says.
Well, I've got bad news for you: it's the law of the land. If you don't like it, either leave or make your convincing case, via Constitutional procedures, to change it. If you can't handle that, you're an American in name only.
I’m against immigration when there comes a point where my people (white christians) are a minority.
Well, that's just too bad, isn't it? America is about Americans, not about whites and not about Christians. Deal with it.
Now, I'll say again, this thread is not about immigration. We have the right as a people to say no to immigration and to construct and enforce laws to allow or disallow immigration as we see fit. I have no problem with shutting down or rationing immigration on the basis that there are too many people here. That is a population issue, not a skin color or religion issue. I certainly have no problem with the government actually enforcing laws on the books against employers of illegals - the government, led by Bush, is hypocritical on this issue.
But, I will say again, this thread is not about immigration per se, but the racist, religionist bull$hit of Bill O'Reilly. Bull$hit that you obviously support.
"and right now we only make up about 65%, which is too low."
It's too low only if we agree that whites christians are inherently superior to brown christians, which is a stupid idea beyond belief. Further, as an atheist, I resent your insinuation that you are more of an American than I am. You are far less of an American because you are prepared to trash the Constitution in favor of religion. Creepy.
giving amensty to hispanics will destroy our people
Of course not, but it will make a mockery of the rule of law. Reagan did it before and now Bush wants to do it again. Either enforce the law or change it, with that I would agree. But your racist nonsense is shameful.
and our country, which we settled and made it what it is.
Yes, a hotbed of racist religious bigots, based on some of these posts.
Just to be clear, though: YOU didn't settle this country. How dare you take credit for the work of others?
some on my irish catholic ancestors that arrived here in the late 1800’s were allowed to
Whoa, I thought YOU settled this country and made it what it is? Turns out, not even your ancestors did so. The country was pretty well settled already by the late 1800's.
I also have Irish Catholic ancestors, but they came in the mid-1800's, so clearly I must be superior to you. I also have native American ancestry, but let's not go down that path.
according to them its OK and not racist to make this country more racial diverse and try to deplete the overall white population
Amen, brother. It's called diversity in the gene pool, which is a very good thing. It has the opposite effect of the kind of inbreeding that produces posts like yours.
a jewish state, exclusivly for jews, where its against the law for jew to marry another jew. they are the chosen ones and everyone else is inferior to thm. it you critize the jews and their racism, the NY Times will call you the most evil thing, an antisemite. what a bunch of hypocrites and parasites
I see, so Jews wanting to preserve their racial purity are racist while a white guy like you wanting to do the same is NOT racist? Hypocrite, look in the mirror.
Wow, it's not every day I get to converse with a white supremecist.
Personally, I couldn't care less about Israel as a Jewish state. I love Jewish people, but the concept of a Jewish state is as repugnant to me as the concept of a Christian state or a Muslim state. It is not worth one drop of blood to preserve a state for the sake of religion. Of course, America doesn't support Israel because of the Jews. America supports Israel for two reasons (1) strategic location in oil-rich region, and (2) fanatical Christians with dreams about the End Times.

Babak sez:
The white European power structure is what has built the US and Western countries. You don’t see African or Latin American countries doing very well.
There is actually a point to this statement. I understand the sentiment, even if it skates on the borders of racism and wishful thinking.
Let me point out a few facts to give it perspective.
1. "White Europeans" were also the architects of 1000 years of the worst misery the world has ever known, in the form of the dark ages.
2. The duration and depth of the dark ages were the result of extreme and exclusive Christian domination and oppression.
3. Through Reformation and Renaissance, Europe finally emerged into the Enlightenment, which was the breeding ground for science and democracy.
4. It is a matter of fortune that America emerged at the right time and the right location to be able to have the benefits of the enlightenment while throwing off the sacred cows of European aristocracy.
5. Colonies dominated by the Iberian countries - Spain and Portugal, were a little behind the curve, as Iberia clung ferociously to Catholoc domination and did not embrace the Enlightenment to the extent of England and France.
6. Consequently, countries emerging from those colonies remain backward, full of Catholic domination and derivative cultural and political corruptions even to this day. Virtually all of Central and South America, as well as the Philippines and other former colonies, all suffer very similar socio-political retardation in lock-step with their continued hard core Catholicism.
7. Meanwhile, former English colonies became nations founded under the notion of religious liberty and democracy derived from the Enlightenment period, and thrived accordingly.
What do we learn from this historical snapshot? The successes of of America have nothing to do with race, and much to do with Enlightenment ideas of freedom and pluralism. The failures of former Spanish colonies have nothing to do with race, and much to do with the remnants of medieval religious superstitions.
It is not a coincidence that the American "Founding Fathers" were children of the Enlightenment, and ardent secularists.
So, Barak, your concept has a point even if your conclusion (race) is wrong.
I have not discussed Africa, which has a huge and rich history of f*ck-uppery of which European colonists also played a role. I have also not discussed Asia, which is neither white nor Christian, yet has an incredible history that in many ways has exceeded the "West". Indeed, in an equal setting, Asian immigrants tend to be more successful in America than other racial/ethnic groups including "white European Christians".
Bottom line, once again, this thread is not about immigration, it's about the ugliness of racial and religious bigots who don't have an understanding of what it means to be an American. They are unpatriotic filth.
June 1st, 2007 at 3:29 amDickL: good post. You are proof that not all conservatives have been hijacked by the neo-fascist disease that's been in power in recent years.
June 1st, 2007 at 3:32 amIn follow-up to my preceding post discussing former Iberian colonies, I should point out that Iberia today is one of the fastest growing and increasingly progressive parts of the world. Spain is a fabulous county and the Spanish people are great. The future is bright for Spain. Had Spain been in it's current state during the Colonial period, the former colonies would not be the basket cases they are today. But, there is no reason to believe that they won't have better days ahead.
Muslim countries, well.... many of them seem to be still in the midst of their own Dark Age period, so maybe in another 500 years they'll have an Enlightenment too.
June 1st, 2007 at 3:41 amThanks gorn :)
Other people in these threads tend to think of Spain and Portugal as if we were yet the theatric Evil Spaniards of some centuries ago.
June 1st, 2007 at 9:26 amI think they're right about the whole WASP power structure thing.
I mean if speaking English and being white was OK for Jesus, it's good enough for everyone else too.
Why does anyone pay attention to O'Reilly in the first place? I've never seen any other bigot treated to so much press as he is.
June 1st, 2007 at 10:23 amO'Reilly is just being used as a vehicle to trip up McCain and smear him. Less about racism and more about being used as a political vehicle to pin negative associations onto the senator. I will not be voting for McCain regardless.
June 1st, 2007 at 10:56 amI realize now why so many people hate Christians. It's because of people like Bill who give Christianity in the media a hateful name. I am a Christian, but I am not a racist, ignorant slob. He is absolutely embarrassing and has no clue what he's talking about.

Another idiot with no historical grasp of the facts. You conveniently leave out the fact that while the vast majority of Europeans who came to settle what is today is the United States did so with the intent of making this their permanent home, the colonial powers who invaded Africa and Latin America sought only to rape and pillage those places of their natural resources. The infrastrucure laid out by the Europeans in the US was one of permanent residency, oh the irony, while that laid out in Africa and Latin America was more of a military outpost. The decimation in the economies and social structures was a result of the economic exploitation by Europeans, it was not homegrown. They dismatled the native way of life so that they could weaken the social structure to perpetually plunder their resources. The problems Africa and Latin America are imported from Europe. To this day, in practically all Latin America, including Mexico, the white male power structure still dominates the economy and the government, at the expense of the natives and the masses in general.
Let me also enlighten you with the fact that prior to the invasion by the Europeans of Peru and Bolivia, the Inca Empire, and in Mexico and Central America, the Aztec, the Maya, and the Toltec empires had flourished for hundreds of years, each lasted longer that the entire existence of the U.S. Additionally, many if not most historians agree that when these empires were at their peak, they were far superior that their European counterparts during the same periods in arithmetic, science, astronomy, culture, social structure, and trade with cities and buildings far larger and superior than anything the Europenas had even seen. When the Europeans arrived, most of these Empires were in decline, save the Aztecs, whose religious beliefs led to their intial downfall. The main reason the Europeans were able to take the Americas from the natives was not as many claim, their superior technology or culture, or their bravery or prowess in the battlefield. It was their willingness to disonor treaties, to betray, to backstab, to murder ruthlessly. Even so, these things alone would have never been enought to conquer the natives. The principal reason the Europeans were victorious is because they were disease ridden and the cleaner natives could not withstand the biological assault. The small pox virus that the Europeans carried is what really did the natives in. Quick factual example: when the (white)Spaniards arrived in Mexico, there were some 25 million natives living in Mexico, within 100 years, smallpox had devastated the population to a mere 1 million. Statistically speaking, it would have been impossible for the spaniards to maintain control over 25 million angry natives.
But I digress. You oughta try learning some history before you opine on the state of other nations. The rise of Europe and the United States has more to do with fortunate circumstances and sheer luck than it does with superiority. There have been great contributions to the world by Europeans and their descendants here in America. But to claim such technologies as your own is ludicrous. The technologies we see today are the culmination of thousands of years of contributions from many civilizations. A great deal of these advances have originated in the greatest longest lasting Empire of all, China. For the record I'm not Chinese. The muslims at the height of their power made tremendous advances in math, science, and medicine. The Egyptians, the Chinese, Greeks, the Persian Empire, the Romans, the Babyloninans, and Mesopatamians gave birth to everything you try to claim exclusively for the white European. What an ignoramus!
June 1st, 2007 at 11:23 am#165 gorn by any other name
Catholicism is not the reason why Latin America didn't develop the same as the U.S. It was simply a means to oppress and to enable the exploitation of the Americas. If you look into this, Catholicism in Europe and Catholicism in the Americas were vastly different from one another. In the end, it was simply a tool of the white European to pillage, rape, and plunder.

"Muslim countries, well…. many of them seem to be still in the midst of their own Dark Age period, so maybe in another 500 years they’ll have an Enlightenment too."
You are historically and factually innacurate. The truth is that the Muslim civilization had their enlightenment period well before Europe did. Only recently in the last Century or so have they declined. The most rapid decline and the seeds of the darkest Muslim period began when the Europeans and the Unites States began meddling in Muslim nations afairs over the last 60 years or so. These nations have not been allowed to flurish, and have been pushed into a dark age by U.S. and Europe.
June 1st, 2007 at 11:33 amBill O finally said what he's been wanting to say for years. He and the majority of the elected official in Washington who happen to be white should run this Country forever. Forget the Blacks, Asains, Hispanics, American Indian, and anyone else. By God this country was founded by white males, and he, McCain, and the other idiots in Washington intend to keep it that way.
If Bill O was in charge the others wouldn't have the right to vote or anything else. That's what Ruppard Murdock wants, a perminate white male dominated society, and screw the rest. It doesn't matter that Ruppard isn't from the United States, he's a Nazi and he's wants a white male government. I guess the rest of us should just pack up and go elsewhere.
June 1st, 2007 at 12:21 pmCatholicism is not the reason why Latin America didn’t develop the same as the U.S. It was simply a means to oppress and to enable the exploitation of the Americas.
I fail to see a meaningful distinction between Catholicism being the reason and Catholicism being a means / a tool. Sure, selfish and unassailable power are the real "reason" behind oppression and religion is the excuse for it, but this is just two ways of saying the same thing. Enlightenment and Catholicism are essentially opposing forces. Where such religion does not oppress, it is because it is not the dominant force.
June 1st, 2007 at 1:29 pmWhoa, check out the white supremicist up yonder. That's the first time in a long time I've heard some gold ole' darkey hatin`, jew bashing, countrified, professying! Praise Jesus and pass the ammunition. Finally, the revolution is nigh; those sinner nigras and their heathen kike brethren's gonna get what they done had a' commin to 'em.

June 1st, 2007 at 1:31 pmThe truth is that the Muslim civilization had their enlightenment period well before Europe did. Only recently in the last Century or so have they declined.
I agree. This doesn't change what I said. Islam today, to a disturbing degree, has regressed to a dark age attitude that may take hundreds of years to overcome.
June 1st, 2007 at 1:31 pmCatholicism is not the reason why Latin America didn’t develop the same as the U.S. It was simply a means to oppress and to enable the exploitation of the Americas.
Just to be clear, this is my point.
There is not an independent positive correlation between skin color and national success, as implied by O'Reilly and several posters on this thread. Any correlation is an historical accident by the evidence and reasons I've presented.
There is a negative correlation between Christian socio-political domination and open/free/non-oppressive nations, contrary to the insinuations of O'Reilly and several posters on this thread.
In other words, the veneration of the "white Christian" power structure is dead wrong on both counts. If we are going to venerate something as a success to be preserved, it would be the "color blind, faith blind" power structure as embodied within the US Constitution.
June 1st, 2007 at 1:51 pmBilly Boy has really jumped off the deep end.
June 1st, 2007 at 2:01 pmIronically, the WMC powerbase, at least the extreme christian right, share SO much in common with thier extreme muslim enemies. It's hillarious and we are all getting a big kick out of you two crazy kids duking it out for the keys to heaven, LOL! Basically, you all should get together and perform mass genocide on everyone who is not Jewish, Christian or Muslim. THen, you get to fight over the trip to CandyLand. It'll be tough, because each team feels "Hey, it's only MY team that gets to go...I have a book that SAYS IT"S TRUE!!". Jews and Christians better stick together (at first) cus Muslims are the largest religious population on the planet.
And in light of that, since almost every nation is part of a global community, my so-called master race would lose miserably. Before, people would defend slaughter and or slavery of other races by saying "Hey, we won, so it's god's will, right?" Not just us Caucusites either. It's happened in almosts every major culture throughout history (the pimping of religion for finacial gain, that is). If that's the path you follow, us Whiteys (and specifically christians) are the minority, and about to lose...big time. So, is that God's will, too? Or is everyone just tired of us shitting on them in the last three centuries? Make no mistake, the same way some of you see all blacks or all 'middle eastern people' as the same general group, they all see us as the same. UK, Germany, France, US, whatever. Poor people of color see white, greedy, complainy, brats. Not saying that's good, just that, people are people man, and we all hate in the same manner. Again, Americans get a bad rap. Per houshold, we work a ton of hours each week, chasing a goal that usually winds up in unrecoverable debt. All to have a wife and kid. Or whatever your pleasure. Sadly, if the planet was a democracy, we would be the smallest voting group. Our opinions are not popular precisely because they are not part of the popular opinion. You better get used to it, or you WILL be hiding in the hills in Canada, skulking behind your refridgerator with a rifle. But that's what ignorant cats are into. They love that sh** cause it makes them feel tough. Maybe if they stopped blaming everyone else for their problems and went and made some more money, they would be happier, and STFU! Go play paintball, jerk off, have a drink, and chill the f*** out PLEASE!!
June 1st, 2007 at 3:56 pm(ok, I'm done ranting on my tangent. You may proceed)
That putzes like Bill can get a platform at all shows how desperate these dinosaurs are to preserve their way of life. He's laying out the stakes for the faithful here, and might as well say he's scared out of his starched tighty-whities to ever be in a minority position himself.
June 1st, 2007 at 7:05 pmI can't wait until Bush finishes work on his detention camps.
June 2nd, 2007 at 3:58 amI read most of these posts. I am impressed with the majority of the people here . Their Efforts to stamp out hate is truly something that comes from their heart and shows the nature of the people here .
The problem is You all seem to HATE much more then those whom you accuse of hate speech!I expect to be called a troll for this but what I actually am is a person with a differing opinion . (something most of you purport to respect ) I am an Immigrant and a Naturalized Citizen as well.
I have seen it expressed that the current powers structure is not to your Liking .. Hmmm, these are the people whom have struggled and fought for your Freedom to express yourselves and to effect the Biased speech you call progressive, it is progressive in some respect I agree But I have read the Blog form the other side and I have to say you all take the Top prise for hating things that you don't agree with.
You say the other side uses code speak . ok! When you find a differing opinion you call it racist this gives you the moral authority to dismiss anything said by that person without ever challenging the fact or the basis of the argument. You also seem to feel being a white Christian male is a BAD!! thing Why? is it because as our society was maturing just like peoples all over the world were , that we did some thing that by todays standards where though immoral.
Ok fine! but if these People who were in power didn't help effect the changes that have brought us to a more mature and hopefully Better place , then it should not have happened .
I submit to you that haters exist here in this bastion of People who are supposed to above all respect the differences in other
Nuff said
I have read where someone with a fair and decent argument was dismissed out of hand for a spelling error . Way to go that take courage thought and firm beliefs to do that .
I can honestly say that as Hate disrespect and dismissal of differing opinions go you all have the corner on the market .
So much for the tolerant Progressives .
I also suggest you find any other country that treat it's immigrant better
June 2nd, 2007 at 11:28 amI dont feel bad for those who broke the laws to get here as far as I am concerned they are felons . If they are not then why did I spend 12 years playing but the Law of the land to get my citizenship
Bill-zero said, "They want to break down the white, Christian, male power structure, which you’re a part, and so am I". Ah, I see Bill, you are counting yourself part of the elite! It's good of you to announce how important you are, as I never would've guessed! Now, let's get real Bill, you HAVE NO POWER, you are a PISS ANT to the real "white, Christian male power structure", and including yourself in with McCain's circle is totally inappropriate and downright pitiful, really. McCain probably had to stifle himself from throwing up when you announced this to the world. Bill, you remind me of the guy who never gets invited by his co-workers to go on the annual fishing trip so you secretly rent a cabin ahead of time then when you think the time is right you announce to the boys you have a cabin all reserved for the trip. Yup, all taken care of boys, we're gonna have a good fishing trip this year alright. Fu*king loser.
June 2nd, 2007 at 7:29 pmThe future looks grey. Somebody kill me please. Or just clear out all the white christians... Naw all the christians!!!
June 2nd, 2007 at 9:02 pmIt sounds like we have a lot of bloggers here who are between say...15 & 22. I am guessing this partly because of the language being used in this blog...a lot of attacks aimed at O'Reilly, but not much understanding about why he made those comments.
Those of you who are young have had "diversity" shoved down your throats at school and elsewhere so much that it's hard not to assume all white people are racists. How sad.
Anyway, if you'd listed to the entire conversation between O'Reilly and McCain...and if you knew enough about how desperate the Democrats have been to take over our country and some of the immoral, if not ILLEGAL, tactics they've been using for the past 7+ years, O'Reilly's comment would make a lot more sense...and I think be much less offensive.
Do you realize that hundreds, if not thousands, of illegals were able to register to vote before the last national election? They weren't allowed to do so, but somehow they got through the system. Do you also realize that many of these illegals actually casted their votes? DOESN'T THAT MAKE YOU ANGRY? I don't go to their home countries and vote in their elections...I don't have the right to do that...I'm not a citizen, so I can't vote.
Why do you think most of these illegal voters registered and voted? In most cases it's because desperate democrats conned them into it. They wanted to win...and were willing to bend teh Constitution in order to do that.
I believe the discussion between O'Reilly and McCain was about the Dems bringing in millions of illegals and then drafted a way to allow the newcomers to vote - with a Dem. House and Senate, it may not be impossible. Most illegals, at least those from Mexico, would be very likley to vote democrate. Many (most?) who come here from Mexico do so because they are struggling financially. They come in hopes of finding work and making a good life for their families. That's great! The unfair political sway comes from the tendancy of democrats being "tax and spend" happy. Those of us with jobs paying more than minimum wage are taxed half to death...so we can give services to the less fortunate. I'm all for helping out people in legitimate need...temporarily unless they are too old or disabled to be able to make it on their own. But I am NOT happy about suddenly bringing in another 20-40 million people who need health care, welfare, education, etc...at our expense. Who knows how long it'll take families to get on their feet? Especially when so many come at once. I like O'Reilly's idea of putting a cap on the number of workers that can come in. It for everyone's good. Our economy can only absorb so much before showing signs of falling apart.
O'Reilly was simply trying to express (in a tacky way perhaps) that he feared an attempt by the Democrats to use a mass influx of foreign voters to insure a demo victory. The Christian part of his comment was likely in response to how Christians are losing more rights, more rapidly than anyone else in the country right now. We are helplessly watching our country embrace the "rights" of women to murder their unborn children in brutal ways. We are seeing gay activists and the ACLU gestapo tear down the value of marriage, family, and abstinence. Christians are being threatened when they stand up for traditional American values...and the far left liberals want to remove more and more of those values until we are a country with no real culture...except that we bow down to the United Nations and other global entities.
Ok...my soapbox time is over for now. LOL Please listen to the whole conversation and read a little history about why O'Reilly was so upset about the Dems bringing in "ringers" to fix the election.
June 3rd, 2007 at 7:43 amlol this is all talk. o reilly pretending like he disagrees with immigration. trying to make people think that someone is doing something about the problem by talkin about it. o reilly wants the destruction of america just like all these other demons in suits
June 4th, 2007 at 9:42 amGod is saying that Bill O'Reilly has nothing to look forward to in the hereafter.
God is saying that great storms shall rest on Alabama.
1. God is very tired of a lot of things that are happening in the world. He has used me and natural disasters as a warning. I forewarned people, to include Colin Powell, Jesse Jackson, and foreign emissaries and various members of Congress about his disappointment with what is going on in the world. Great storms shall rest on Alabama. God is tired of racism and violence.
Please read my letters carefully and observe. Pray if you must for understanding and remember that God has never taken a consensus from man to ascertain what he needed to address. More often than not, man has been at odds with the desires of the Lord:

Dear Senator Kennedy:
God placed it upon my mind to forward you the enclosed. They are, among other things, letters that I have written.
A couple of years ago, God let me know that He had not found favor with the Bush Administration. He has let me know that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld have nothing to look forward to in the "hereafter". Among other things, He is going to hold them accountable for every death and injury that has occurred in the Iraqi war.
Please observe what I have stated in my letters (insofar as weather phenomena, etc), and what is happening. They are about to intensify.
Personally, I wanted to thank you for your efforts towards equality. God has found favor with you. Reference intent, that is a major difference with Him. This is, in part, what is meant by: "Except ye be like little children, ye shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven." Children do things without malice - they just are. Grown men intentionally act.
I would be honored to have an autographed picture of you.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller
Since Christmas Eve (2005), I have been standing, approximately once a week, on the Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama courthouse steps with the following signs:
1. First Sign:
Jesus is saying that you can't love Him and hate others because of the color of their skin. Jesus is black. Brass is yellow, but turns black when burned. Revelation 1:15. End Racism.
Second Sign (initially used with the first sign for a few months):
God is saying that the war in Iraq is unjust and that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld have a great condemnation in the hereafter (that grows daily). The Lord.
Third Sign (Used heretofore with the first sign):
Martin King, whom God sent, once said: "God may someday humble America due to its unjust policies of war." Thanks to "W", the United States shall suffer great calamities, and there shall be days (literally/non literally) filled with darkness. Him that hath an ear, let him hear.
These are letters that I wrote foretelling of calamities to come:
First Letter

5 August 2004
A few years ago, I was attending Southern Illinois University Law School. When I was accepted, it was one of the most wonderful things that I had experienced.
Immediately subsequent to reading my acceptance letter, I could feel God's presence. While I was praising God, the Holy Spirit came upon me and I began to cry (joyously).
However, I felt that God was telling me that He would put me back into school. While listening to Optimistic by the Sounds of Blackness, I continued to praise God but refused to believe that I would not complete school. After all, it was God, through answering of my prayers, that had placed me in school.
Prior to and upon attendance at school, weird things began to happen. I constantly called upon God to get through them. Eventually, I was compelled to read the book of Job in the Old Testament. I had no choice (as to whether or not I was going to read Job), and read it in one sitting. Within a three week period, I was twice again compelled to read Job.
At law school, I did all that I could to successfully complete the program. I constantly studied and prayed for success. Although I had no trouble understanding the legal concepts, I did not successfully complete the program. I decided to stay in Illinois and enter Southern Illinois University's (SIU) Administrative Justice Program.
One morning, while taking a bath, I noticed that my skin tone had changed to reddish-black - like where the redness meets the black on an ember of coal. Immediately, an angel of the Lord informed me that this is the color of Jesus. To be candid, I said: Damn, what the hell is going on. I was greatly overwhelmed.
A few days later, I was guided to Revelation 1: 14-15. It was if God opened the book to the page Himself. When I read ". . . his feet were like unto fine brass, as if burned in a furnace . . ., " I began to think about the copper pennies that I had burned growing up - in recognition of the similarity between brass and copper when burned.
A few weeks later, I was guided to and purchased John L. Johnson's the Black Biblical Heritage. When referring to the aforesaid scripture, it stated: "Brass is yellow, but when it has been burned the color changes to very dark, near black."
While home on a school break, God spoke to me. There was a brilliant light and my whole body shook at the sound of His voice. He spoke of things that were to pass.
After my return to Illinois, Jesus came to me in the middle of the night (around 3:30 a.m.). I actually saw a darkened silhouette of His body in front of the entrance to my apartment. There was a light about His whole body and angels were dancing and playing in His presence (like little children).
I have seen great miracles (these are but a few).
For a great while, God has been showing me injustice and racism. He wants us to live together in harmony, no matter what race. My present girlfriend, whom I have been with for over a year, is white. She is one of the nicest persons that I have ever known, and I have traveled abroad.
However, God has shown me that a lot of whites are arrogant and or condescending. God is saying that no man has done anything, whether good or bad, without His blessing (by commission or omission). It's all for His glory, in that He is who He says that He is - the sum being salvation or condemnation. Jesus is saying that you can't love Him and hate others solely because their skin resembles His - for then, you hate Him. He is perfect in all things - even His complexion. Moreover, He is not ashame of anything that He is.
God has become angry at the state of the world today. This is why weather phenomena, fires, earthquakes, etc., have become more dynamic. They shall immediately grow in magnitude.
The next thunderstorm, observe the muffled rumbling sound of thunder - no longer just a crackling sound. God is saying that sometimes people don't understand oppression until they too have been oppressed and or humbled.
At one point, through a temporary service, I worked at Avnet here in Huntsville, Alabama. Although they had both a sales department and a programming center, I worked in the programming center (as a inventory specialist), which programmed electronic components.
The floor manager was Vincent Greathouse, a resident of Harvest, Alabama. One week, I informed Vincent of my experiences with God. God let me know that same weekend, while I was driving to my hometown, that Vincent was wondering whether or not he was saved.
On Monday, I informed Vincent that God had let me know that he was worried all weekend about whether or not he was saved. God moved me to inform him that he was saved.
Vincent was in awe. However, Vincent, at times, did not treat me in a manner that was appropriate to God.
One Friday night, I was reading Matthew 13:13, which states: ". . . They seeing see not: and hearing they hear not . . . " After reading it, I felt an immediate and profound significance of the scripture, in relation to my situation with Vincent.
On Saturday morning, around 3:00 a.m., God moved me to take a walk. I walked down the street to Challenger Middle School's football field. Once there, God called me to look up to Him. Once I looked up, the Holy Spirit came over me and I continuously thanked God, although I did not know why I was thanking Him.
Monday, I was nearby while Vincent was working at his computer. All of a sudden, he began shouting: "I can't see, I can't see." I repeatedly informed Vincent that his blindness was due to his failure to heed what I had revealed about God. A coworker (Francesca Battle) reinforced my caveat. Once Vincent listened, God restored his sight.
On occasion, as God moved me, I would tell coworkers about things that were to pass. Everything that I told them came to pass, including closing of the programming center - despite visits by the home office in an expansion effort.
Approximately four years ago, I was attending the Old School Festival in Harvest, Alabama. George Clinton was one of the performers. During his performance, God brought me to his attention. He let me know that George had been worrying about life in the hereafter. God then had me point to the sky and hold up a peace sign. At this point, George reached out over the crowd to shake my hand.
God also let me know that George wanted to see my eyes, but I did not remove my sunglasses. As a means of affirmation of the things that God had whispered to him, he wanted to know if I had been drinking - which I had.
Just last week, a friend, Chase North (Alabama A&M engineering student), complained of serious pain in his knee. I laid my hand on his knee and called upon Jesus and his pain immediately dissipated.
Last, God is not happy with America's involvement in Iraq. Remember, Martin Luther King, whom God sent, once said that God may someday humble America because of its unjust practices of war. As such, God has also let me know that George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld have a great condemnation (which grows daily) in the hereafter. To Him the greatest thief is not the one who steals to feed his family, but the one who steals for greed. In addition, God has shown me their cavalier attitude towards the lives of others.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller

1001 Andrew Jackson Way N.E.Huntsville, AL. 35801
Dear Pastor Jordan:
God placed it on my mind to forward to you the enclosed letter. It was forwarded to Jesse Jackson and Peter Jennings (ABC News), on or before 5 August 2004. If you remember, this is just before the hurricanes hit Florida. Subsequently, it was also emailed to Erin Dacy and Denise Agent of WAAY TV.
Recently, I informed a member of your congregation, Bob Alverson (former WHNT 19 operations manager), about some of the things that are contained in the letter. I also told him that one Sunday God had sent me to three churches in my hometown. Subsequent thereto, God called me to look up to Him and I could literally feel weights being lifted off my shoulder.
I also told Bob that when I gazed upon the sky, it was filled with numerous patches of gold. Approximately two weeks ago, Bob and I were working together when I noticed that God had placed a patch of gold in the sky. Immediately, I called Bob's attention to it. A few seconds later, I pointed out another patch to Bob.
Just before the tsunami hit, I told Bob that great tragedies were about to occur. More are now on the way. God is saying that He is tired of the present state of the world. As in times past, people are reluctant to hear God's chosen until the occurrence of great calamities.
God has been using me as spoken of in Matthew 13:49. In part, this is what is meant by "Receiving a good report." This is also why the names are in the Book of Life when the Lamb opens it. God has let me know that Judgment Day is a formality. You can equate it to being convicted of a crime and then returning to court at a later date for sentencing.
God has been showing me peoples' hearts, despite their attempts to hide it. Although I have been provoked to anger by many things, I have had no tolerance for racial arrogance. A lot of people have lost their lives in the hereafter.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller

Dear President Carter:
I just wanted to thank you for the autographed picture. Yesterday, I was most pleased to receive my mail.
I want you to know that by no means am I perfect. At times, it is a mystery to me why God came to me the way that He did. On occasion, I am prone to drinking, intemperate, and lustful. However, God has let me know that I have a great desire to be just.
Moreover, He has let me know that I have always had wisdom. When I speak of wisdom, I mean the wisdom to know that He is. As I stated in my letter dated 5 August 2004, I was compelled to read Job. As such, there have been times when I could not do simple things, such as adding two plus two. God did this to let me know that He was guiding me - to enhance my faith. I have often told Him that I would rather lose it all than not to be wise in Him.
It is a great thing to be wise in the Lord. I saw this in you. I remember: (1) your reluctance to fire Andrew Young because you knew in your heart that he was trying to bring about peace; (2) your desire to minimize loss of life in your efforts to free the hostages; and (3) your directive/initiative to end the practice of assassination by the CIA. This is why I wanted your picture, not just because you were president.
Last, it is not just an issue of race. As I stated in my previous letter, I have a white girlfriend. God is just. As such, He has shown me his disfavor with Condeleeza Rice, due to her propensity to lie in support of unjust policies without regard for human life - no job is worth your soul. If you live to be 200 years old, it is but a short time in comparison to an eternity of hell.
I do not come with guns nor affiliation with any group, but by the authority of the Lord.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller

Dear Mr. Secretary-General:
After watching your news conference with President Bush, God placed upon my mind to forward to you the enclosed letters. The letter dated 5 August 2004 was previously sent to the British, German, and French Heads of State.
God has not found favor with President Bush. The war was started for oil and not for any humanitarian concern. The humanitarian twist emanated from America's failure to acquire a decisive victory. Everything that he is doing now is spoon-fed and perfunctory by nature.
Please observe what I say about weather phenomena, and look at what is happening in the world. Another great tragedy is about to occur.
While Bush was speaking at the news conference, God let me know that you were thinking that he is a man of no substance.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller

The Honorable Bill Frist

Dear Senator Frist:
God placed it upon my mind to forward you the enclosed letters. They reference my experiences with Him.
Previously, they were forwarded to Jesse Jackson and Peter Jennings. In Jesse's letter, I informed him that God had moved me to ask that news of his affair not be protracted in the media.
Please note what I say about weather phenomena, etc.( in the letter dated 5 August 2004). Since others didn't want to listen, God is saying that the United States shall immediately suffer great calamities. They shall be natural (so that there is no mistaking that they are from God) and shall continue until I am heard to His satisfaction.
I have suffered greatly since God came to me, financially and otherwise. I once went to a friend of yours for help. I know that he is a friend because he mentioned that you were an acquaintance of his. I can't remember his name, but his house is behind the Belle Meade Mansion. He has a law firm in Nashville. I remember him stating that the rocks in his back yard were laid by slaves.
I told him how God had come to me and was rebuffed when I asked for a job with his firm. In reference to him, God is bringing to my mind the scripture that states: "Tis better to not have known, than to have known and not have listened.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller

Dear Messrs.:
God moved me to forward you the enclosed letters. Please note my experience with George Clinton and what I have said about weather phenomena.
Also, please inform Janet that God has shown me her brother's heart (the heart of a child), and all is well. "Except ye be like little children, ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven." It is not the same for Tom Sneddon.
I am the same person that told you to tell Janet that God said she shall have love. It is a terrible thing to have a beautiful heart and not be able to share it with the right person. I have personally experienced the same. God is saying that He knows that she is weary.
Sincerely,

General Peter Pace
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
9999 Joint Staff Pentagon
Washington, D.C. 20318-9999
Dear General Pace:
God has placed it upon my mind to forward you my letters, and to tell you to resign and pray diligently. He has not found favor with the war in Iraq; he is saying that it is an unjust war. I also tell you this as a former Marine.
For a good while now, God has been showing me racism and injustice. My present girlfriend, who is white (40 years old), is a wonderful person. We have been together for over three years. However, when her dad found out we were dating, he asked her why did she want to embarrass him. Her stepfather doesn’t want me in their house, and once remarked that he knows that she would be with a black man (prior to his knowledge of our dating).
I stated the aforesaid because I do not want you to think I have a racist agenda, due to the content of my letters. I have only seen what the Lord has presented. There are a lot of whites that I admire, and it has nothing to do with them being white.
I still remember LtCol. Cecil L. Strouth, former Marine aviator. As a Marine, I use to input flight training data into the Flight Readiness Evaluation Data System (FREDS). To do so, you had to input each individual aviator’s social security number. The last time that I keypunched LtCol. Strouth’s flight data was before March 1980; however, I admired him so much that I never forgot his social security number: (deleted). I do not have it written down anywhere.
In addition, I use to be the Assistant Staff Secretary for the Second Marine Aircraft Wing. In that capacity, I served General officers. I have the utmost respect for Lieutenant Generals Keith A. Smith, Royal N. Moore and John Hudson; Brigadier Generals William “Art†Bloomer and Lloyd W. Smith (I was saddened to learn that Brigadier General Smith had passed in 2005); Lieutenant Colonels Robert G. Larson and Pat Finneran.
I respected these men for not only their intelligence but more importantly their character and compassion. My respect for them did not emanate from what they wore on their collars.
For example, Admiral Frank Kelso is from my hometown of Fayetteville, Tennessee. Members of my family once worked for his, when he was an adolescent. One day, I saw Admiral Kelso at the Huntsville, Madison County, Alabama airport. I asked him for an autographed picture and gave him my address. At that moment, God showed me his heart. I then told God that I did not want his picture.
I am extremely serious about everything that I have written. First and foremost, I would not lie on the Lord.
I have suffered financially and otherwise, but still choose to serve the Lord. In my heart, up to this point, I believe that the aforesaid men, with the exception of Frank Kelso, were persons that I could have called upon to find employment commensurate with my abilities. There is a Boeing facility nearby and I know that LtCol Finneran is vice-president of one of Boeing’s divisions.
However, I am in service to the Lord, and stand on His promises. Congressman Thomas Reynolds, through an assistant, once asked me to serve as an honorary chairperson on a committee. While the assistant was talking, I was praying to the Lord. The Lord moved me to decline.
Afterwards, God let me know that I am a rock, and to Him a rock is more precious than gold. God told me that gold can be filtered with other elements, but a rock remains a rock no matter how many times you crush it.
Sincerely,
James E. Waller
June 5th, 2007 at 8:13 amI just read "Dawn's" comment. I am almost sure it's a parody of right wingers and people who think like that. But the scary thing is is that I don't know for sure! There are really people who are that ignorant and misinformed! That is how indoctrinated a certain portion of the US population actually is! What is the difference between someone who "thinks" that way and an indoctrinated, say, North Korean? Well, for one thing, the fact of US global power makes it much more dangerous to have a population that so ignorantly sits back and supports or lets it go around the world exploiting, plundering, and mass murdering.
