Back off the guy. He started with Bush when he was 22 right out of the University of Texas. He’s too youung and inexperienced to handle a job like he’s had. Give the guy kudos for growing up and realizing that he’s been drinking the Kool-Aid for 14 years. The power he’s had at the White House before turning 40 would be almost impossible for any of us to turn down.

I think it premature to call this another rat jumping ship. The denoument of Bush II has certainly been planned.

Mr. Bartlett has never in his adult life worked for anyone but Mr. Rove-working-for-Mr. Bush. So I expect he’ll be setting up the beach head that he and Mr. Rove expect to occupy when the Democratic army sweeps in.

Hint to Congressman Waxman: Mr. Bartlett can still be subpoenaed, so don’t forget about him as you pursue obstruction of justice questions relating to Rove’s Shoppe.

No one pleased The Commander Guy more than Bartlett did. Everyday that Bartlett spent at the White House he had just one goal, and that was to serve for the Decider’s pleasure, and boy did he come up huge. We’re gonna miss him around here.
