Dobbs: NYT are ‘commies,’ ‘fascists’ for criticizing me.
On the May 30 edition of his CNN show, Lou Dobbs previewed his response to a scathing New York Times article about him, by saying “We’ll tell you who’s really telling the truth and who the commies are and who the fascists are, who have the temerity to attack me.” Watch it:

June 1st, 2007 at 1:03 pmDobbs made a fortune on Wall Street back in the 80’s and 90’s. He was CNN’s “business guru” and then he got his present gig. I used to like him but he has really gone off the deep end. At 6pm (eastern) when he is on, people are beginning to make dinner, or are having a drink before dinner and they don’t want a raving maniac in their home.
He could be far more substantive if he talked about trade agreements and the consequences of them but this constant rant has become intolerable.
Immigrants to Dobb’s are like what the Clinton’s are to Matthews, an excuse to get all exercised and indignant. Where is their outrage over the Embassy in Iraq that is the size of Vatican City (that we, the taxpayer are footing), the Justice Department Scandal which is going to make Watergate look like a birthday party, the lack of protection for our troops, sending amputees back into battle, etc., etc.
Stop watching these overpaid blowhards and their ratings will dry up and eventually, the networks might, just might get the message that we demand the facts and the unvarnished truth.
Also, another effective way of showing disapproval is to let his sponsors know that you will not be buying their products! Money always wins it seems.

It is not racist crap, it is common sense. The U.S. has immunizations for all kids. While they may get unhealthy here, eating worse, stds, etc…but things that we have essentially gotten rid of here through shots are going to be brought across the border because they don’t immunize. Then of course we will give them free healthcare.

There is no immunization against TB. So what these statistics show is that immigrant communities in the U.S. have a higher incidence than U.S.-born. TB is a disease of poverty. They get TB after they have been here living in poverty. They do not bring it with them at seven times the rate per 100K of U.S.-born.

Even with a fake green card an illegal cannot get free healthcare or food stamps for that reason. And a fake Social Security card will not do the job either. The idea that they are getting free social services is another racist lie. The fact is that illegals pay for far more than they are entitled to (public education and obstetric care). They pay about seven billion annually into Social Security which is never claimed in benefits. In fact that’s why being an illegal is so dangerous and such a risk to one’s health. There is no safety network under you when things go wrong

Oh but your data said it was higher among foreign-born than U.S-born populations. And it doesn’t say they bring it with them. The studies show a higher incidence rate of TB infection . This refers to new infections for recent immigrants here less than one year. They get TB after they arrive due to peri-immigration stress, malnutrition, over-crowded housing, and lack of access to medical care. They do not bring it with them. That is called re-infection or latent infection.

What percent? How many? Sheer speculation. The truth is no one, no nurse, no doctor, no administrator, would have any certain knowledge of which patients are illegal immigrants and which aren’t or how many.
What is certain is that the L.A. Emergency Rooms are full of sick poor people. They are full of people who speak Spanish, or Vietnamese, or Chinese, or Filipino. No one knows their immigration status or their astrological sign or whether they like Coke or Pepsi. And no one knows if they recently arrived or have lived here for generations.
It’s in everyone’s interest that everyone gets all the healthcare they need and that those in need are not turned away.

The studies show a higher incidence rate of TB infection . This refers to new infections for recent immigrants here less than one year. They get TB after they arrive due to peri-immigration stress, malnutrition, over-crowded housing, and lack of access to medical care. They do not bring it with them. That is called re-infection or latent infection.

What is certain is that the L.A. Emergency Rooms are full of sick poor people. They are full of people who speak Spanish, or Vietnamese, or Chinese, or Filipino. No one knows their immigration status or their astrological sign or whether they like Coke or Pepsi. And no one knows if they recently arrived or have lived here for generations.

It happened in the early 1990’s when Pete Wilson of California came out in support of prop 187. He had performed miserably as a first term governor, and his approval ratings where very low. So he busted out with the anti-immigration shotgun and blasted the electorate with the nonsense that all the problems California experienced under his governorship were not because he was a lousy governor, but instead it was because of those damned illegal immigrants. He was re-elected and prop 187 passed, though it was later shot down as unconstitutional. It is the same way shoplifters drive prices up so stores can make money. Hospitals are businesses, which is why hospitals in borders states go out of business. You are officially an idiot. They do receive free healthcare in emergency rooms because they cannot be turned away, then they don’t pay the bill. Lets do this more simple for you. x=taxes paid for hospital, y=pay for services. If I go to a hospital I already pay x and I am charged for y. Mr Illegal may pay some of x, but when the charge for y comes he does not pay. This means that prices go up and hospitals go bankrupt.

1) If they are paid in cash “more often than not” why does the IRS think they are paying about $7 billion annually into Social Security? I have explained to you twice now that what you are saying is not true, so stop repeating it.
2)They do not get free healthcare. That’s simply not true. They get nothing free. They are entitled to nothing for free. They are not entitled to welfare benefits. To receive free healthcare you have to have a Medicaid card which requires proof of residency for at least five years. You can’t buy five years worth of fake rent receipts. Even legal aliens are not eligible for welfare or for free healthcare until they can prove residency for at least five years. Illegals pay on the spot for any treatment they receive in a county hospital ER just like everyone else. I have explained this to you at least twice. If you want to continue making that claim, prove it. No one in the United States is entitled to free healthcare by simply walking into a hospital and demanding it.

Illegals are reluctant to go to ER’s unless someone is extremely ill because they are afraid of getting caught and deported, so by and large they are happy to pay and leave quickly and quietly with as few questions asked as possible.
Note that everything Lou Dobbs “reported” about the US-Canada softwood lumber contretemps was false.
In particular he reported, incorrectly, that the World Trade Commission approved the US position at a point in the process when the WTO had not yet been called in. The US lost 3-0 within the NAFTA adjudication process, which is where things were when Dobbs reported on the thing.
After losing the original finding and two appeals, the US then went to the WTO. The WTO did the opposite of what Dobbs had prematurely reported, and found for the Canadian position.
As far as I know Dobbs has done no further reporting on the subject, not has he aired a retraction or apology.
