Attacks on U.S. troops grow in lethality.
“The intensity of combat and the greater lethality of attacks on U.S. troops is underscored by the lower ratio of wounded to killed for May, which fell to about 4.8 to 1 — compared with an average of 8 to 1 in the Iraq conflict, according Pentagon data. ‘The closer you get to a stand-up fight, the closer you’re going to get to that 3-to-1 ratio’ that typified 2oth-century U.S. warfare, said John Pike, director of Globalsecurity.org, a defense information Web site.”

that’s one of the stupidest statements i’ve heard about the war…excluding all of chimpy statements of course.
it’s hard to believe that anyone swallows this meaningless drivel…but that 28% really thinks those statements are information.

When it gets down to it, if you have been in a war long enough the other side is going to develop and perfect more efficient ways to kill. Thats the only effect continued occupation will have. Want to stop the trend? Then get out now.

Those who lose both legs, or both arms, or an arm and a leg will suffer hardships for the rest of their lives.

If you actually believe your own geopolitical views, there’s no excuse for you not to haul your hiney down to the nearest recruiter. Too fat & lazy? The Marines will fix that in about a week. (They will leave stretchmarks and loose flaps of skin, but you’ll be a shadow of your former self. :) ) Too old? Get your kids mobilized or volunteer with a service organization that will send you over there. Too stupid? (A distinct possibility). The Army is on record for recruiting the borderline retarded.

If you’ve read the news, and reports from various government agencies, you’d have heard that we’ve actually INCREASED the number of terrorists due to our presence in Iraq. The Iraq war has been one of the best terrorist recruiting tools ever invented.
This idea that we need to continue to occupy foreign countries, that had no established ties to terrorists, in order to stop terrorists is laughable. It shows your intelligence that you actually buy into it. And please explain to us all why you aren’t over their fighting or offering your own children to be used to conduct this fight.
