Civilian deaths in Baghdad up 29 percent.

“An Interior Ministry official, who did not want to be named because he was not authorized to release the figures, said 1,944 civilians were killed in May, a 29 percent hike over April. At least 174 soldiers and policemen were killed in the same period. … Mortar attacks in the capital are becoming deadlier and car bombs remain common.”

How many deaths if we were not there? That needs to be seriously studied. Hussien had an army of 500k to keep order. Bush has only kept 150k. Why? It is for the oil, we all know this. But why do it with too few GI. Bush needs to be held accountable for these deaths, all of them. The screws are on the Iraqis to sign away their oil rights where they get 20cents on the dollar only if they are lucky.

WTF??? You did say you are a teacher, right? What do you teach? You do understand that the insurgents are the ones doing most of the killing of Iraqis, don’t you? You do know that our soldiers are the good guys. The comment was that 1944 civilians have died, not that our soldiers killed them. What are you thinking? Because what you said was”We’re killing more people on a daily basis then he did…” He killed anyone who disagreed with him, as do the insurgents. Our soldiers kill those who try to kill others. And saying that you AREN’T saying he was a good guy doesn’t make it ok to compare our soldiers to his methods.

Now it’s the soccer moms fault? You people are flakes. You might want to get out into the real world and see how far from reality you’ve gotten. You might want to make sure you only make this suggeston amongst the most radical lefties or on blogs where you won’t have to see all the people laughing at you.

In your warped view of reality and what makes one a terrorist perhaps.

  20. KingCranky says:

Right on cue, and ever oh-so-predictable, the brain dead trolls praising the glory of All Things W show up and spew their easily-debunked nonsense, namely, that in the trolls happy little world, Iraq is a “democracy” that’s going just perfectly peachy keen, W is a competent President, and there was never a storm named Katrina that showed up the Administration for the bunch of pathetic hypocrites they are, after all, what’s the point of “fighting terrorists” over there when you don’t give a damn about saving people from a storm that gave plenty of warning for the Feds to act on

Interesting, FEMA had a far better record of real accomplishments in terms of rescue and relief BEFORE W first slithered into office via unelected activist judges, now, FEMA’s a punchline under W’s alleged “leadership”

I know, troll, it just must bite your ass that all your reality-denying rhetoric was smacked down so brutally by the electorate last November, and I can’t blame you for whining, not when November 2008 is shaping up to be an even worse massacre for the GOP than the 2006 political Little Big Horn it went through

Oh yeah, NONE of your hollow rhetoric is going to instantly rally the US public around this President EVER again, and W undercuts his own worthless “War On Terrorists” every time he brings up Usama bin Laden. Of course, that will happen when cutting and running from finishing off the Taliban, al-Qaeda and UbL in Afghanistan in order to show up one’s own father by doing something the father was never stupid enough to attempt, Stabilize an occupied Iraq after deposing Saddam Hussein

And hate to break it to you, lil’ trooper, but al-Qaeda and bin Laden want us to stay bogged down in Iraq, you know, where bin Laden and the Taliban aren’t now

I’d suggest getting your ChickenHawk ass over to Iraq, but if your physical aim is as faulty and defective as your logic, then it’s clear the only ones at risk were you to venture into Iraq would be the US troops themselves

Everyone who’s ever read this blog, trolls included, evidently understands far more than you do.

Seriously, “we” are killing these numbers of Iraqis ?
How can you pretend to give a toss about them being killed or make comparisons when you’ve apparently never bothered to read a single one of the news stories carried in every newspaper for the past 4 years ?

Yeah, if only Pelosi had inserted a provision in the Iraq spending bill that would have stopped the troops car bombing markets and ethnically cleansing Sunnis. Oh what an oversight.

  24. zxz says:

Crank, if you are addressing me, show me where I defended Bush. He is a poor excuse for a conservative. It is debatable whether he has been better for the country than John Kerry-Heinz would have been. We wouldn’t be at war with Kerry-Heinz, but we would probably have been attacked several more times because he would do nothing but cry to the U.N for them to stop the terrorists from attacking us.

What I said was our people are the good guys who are trying to help, not the ones killing civilians as unbelievable said. “We” didn’t kill 1944 civilians in May, the insurgents did. “We” aren’t killing more people than Sadaam, the insurgents are. I don’t believe they will ever have democracy there because they care more about killing each other than living in peace. Read comments before you respond to them, genius.

Just because people continue taking care of their children and living their lives rather than spending their time posting here amongst you self-righteous, pseudo intellectuals doesn’t mean they aren’t aware of what is going on. What good did all your whining and outrage do now that you have a majority in Congress? Remember “Now we’ll show those Repubs,” “the Dems will change everything,” “Bush is through getting his way.” How many Dems voted for the bill with no timeline? Bush did get what he wanted. Apparently you weren’t as effective as you thought you were, idiot.

The inSURGEncy is working! Thanks Cheney, Addington, Peerle, the Kagan tribe, Elliott Abrams — famously convicted to perjury and obstruction of justice in the Iran/Contra affair, but later pardoned by Bush Pere who never saw a perjury case against any member of the GOP as an exercise in justice that he could not overturn

The SURGE idea is another brilliant idea of yours, murderous neo-cons. You have been consistently wrong about Iraq, yet you continue advocating more of the same, and expecting a different outcome. This alone gives us, balanced people, a good idea of how dangeerously demented you are .

The neo-con crowd, Wolfowitz, Perle, Abrams, the Kagan clan, Addington, and assorted serial killers such as Bush, Cheny, Rice, and Rumsfeld, should be sent to The Hague to be jugded as war criminals — and war profiteers, i.e., Cheney.
