Du ma nhieu Murtha! You remember what that means don't you you spineless pus-nuts weasels like yourself have long placed the shackles on the fighting warriors of America and for too long operation failures like Vietnam and hundreds of others have been placed on the soldiers who fight the battles for our freedoms. Gallant and professional warriors like Gen. Petraus lead their forces from the front willing to show they will do whatever it takes to win the wars that weak-kneed political hacks like you John Murtha are unwilling to do! Your cast is set, the dye is hardened and you have been weighed and measured and left wanting! Du ma nhieu Mr. Murtha you pathetic scum bag!

Petraeus is a Bush's buttboy. Of course, he'll announce Lieberman - like progress in September. Then he will argue that the US needs a few more Friedman units to achive national reconciliation...

Just in time for Commander Codpiece to leave office and drop his mess on someone else, just like he did during hid entire useless life. Bush boy is so sociopathic that he'll be gloating from the sidelines along wih his Marie-Antoinette mother, and the rest of the Bush cronies'serving a life-time sentence with him in an institution for the criminally insane.

Don’t count out Admiral Fallon!!

He threatened to resign if Cheney and Co. tried to push for an attack on Iran.

He’s the reason we don’t have 3 (three) carrier groups in the Persian Gulf breathing down Iran’s neck.

Comment by Alejandro

That was a strong move on Fallon's part. I'm a little surprised he still has his job.

Question: are we in danger of a military coup in this country? And will it be a right-wing evangelical group, or one opposed to them?

Well, yeah, Nixon had to fix the problem he was dealt by his predecessor, and he didn’t want to make the problem worse by immediately cutting and running. The American people were by all accounts happy with his performance in 1972.

Funny thing about chumps like you. You claim to have villified Lyndon Johnson, but then turned around and voted for his Vice President in 1968 anyway.

Wow, what a snappy retort. I bet you amaze your friends all the time.

And the American people were enormously disappointed in Nixon's performance by 1975.

As for who I voted or didn't vote for in 1968, you presume to clairvoyant.
You can't possibly know who I voted for, so clearly, you have no idea what you're talking about.

(Hint, A**wipe, I was 15 in 1968.)

But I did vote for Nixon in 1972. And today, if the choice were between Nixon and Bush, I'd take Nixon w/out batting an eyelash. Nixon was paranoid as Hell, but at least he was intelligent, and he didn't run around telling people that God talks to him.

As for dealing w/ the mess he was dealt by his predecessor, you've got that totally right. It was a mess and Johnson was rightfully vilified for it. At the time, the "left", as fools like you like to refer to it as, hated Johnson completely. He helped get 50,000 plus American soldiers killed in a war that should have never been fought in the first place.

Nixon actually did some good things, like opening up a dialogue w/ China. Other than that, his presidency was a mess, but nowhere near the mess George II is making.

Actually, I was around at the time. LBj was pretty thoroughly vilified at the time, M12. Many, many, many cheered when he chose not to run in 1968.

1969: President Nixon endorses “Vietnamization” of the war, replacing returning US troops with South Vietnamese forces and secretly intensifying bombing of North Vietnam and Viet Minh supply lines inside Cambodia. Marines secretly invade Laos.

Hardly seems like Nixon was saddled w/ a war he didn’t want. he is theo ne who chose to invade cambodia, after all.

I’m now convinced that no matter what any of us say or do there is no getting out of Iraqnam until its a huge festering cess pool. And then it will all be blamed on the Democrats.

It already is a huge festering cess pool, Ben Dover, and the right wing media machine is already trying to spin it off as a Democratic problem to solve.

But not nearly as much as they’ve lost faith in BuschCo and the GOP.

Business is so bad for the GOP they simply shut down their phone solicitors, en masse. Now, THAT’S a loss of faith, M12.

I guess they won't be voting for George W. Bush then in 2008.

Don't use the memory bleach, it's Orwellian stuff!

This country is in a bad, bad way. And there wasn't even any Weimar Republic rocked by socialist mobs...

Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad. But arrogant, careless, and horny will also do.
