When a minority is involved in the same type of crime, it's lynch-em...throw the book at him. Yes, Jefferson should go to jail if he is convicted (personally, I wish there was a17th indictment... for being stupid). However, 235 years? Second, should he be removed before conviction? Not if you haven't done it for the previous indicted Congressmen. So now, Congress gets morals and want to do what's right? Pl..e.a.s.e!This is the same argument the rest of the world uses when discussing our foreign policy the ss is lopesided. Timing is the problem. Congress needed to fixed this problem when they first arrived in office. It was a problem before they arrived, during they're arrival and still is today. Instead of voting to correct this problem when they first arrived, they elected to do nothing. Now, they want to pass legislation? So afraid it'll hurt them in the polls. Jefferson should be afforded the same bs cover they gave to Tom Delay and the rest of the gang. Does anyone think Bush's pardon of libby will mean he'll pardon Jefferson. if you do, I have some swampland for you. On a final note, we've known for the past 200 plus years, what the rest of the world is just beginning to realize, that america's fairness is all smoke and mirrors. So, give the delay's of the world the ability to decide when, where and how they should bow out. Allowing them to leave gracefully with their dignity intact and march the jefferson's of the world out in handcuffs. Whiny or not, i don't think so. They can't stop him from voting on things on the House floor (which they shouldn't try to do). They could expel him from the Democratic caucus, but would that really make any difference?
