This would not be the first time they pulled such shite. Remember when they repeatedly referred to the Page-molesting Republican Florida Congressman as a “Democrat.”
FOX did this intentionally. They know the difference between Conyers and Jefferson. Many Americans have seen Conyers on TV, so if you mention Jefferson and show Conyers, then it is character assassination.
I say take Fox at face value, so to speak. They may not be doing this intentionally. At best, they are just completely incompetent as a news organization. Remember, I said “at best.”
Conyers has a successful lawsuit if he intends to pursue it. Of course, a shitheel station like Fox news would intentionally do such a deceitful thing – you can take that to the bank! What they fail to realize is that Conyers has a slander suit against them now if he desires to proceed. It’s called “defamation of character” and whether it was intentional or not is irrelevant. He can claim besmerchment of character by the oversight (or intentional slander, as the case may be). If I were Conyers, I’d rub their disgusting faces in it and “go for the gusto”.
As for any “real” damage it may have done to Conyers, who watches this piece of crap station any longer anyway? They’re irrlevant and incompetent and this is more evidence to add to the avalanche of deceitful crap emanating from that hapless station.
Of course Fox knows the difference — this is deliberate irresponsibility and false reporting — they will say “ooops” and proceed as if this is nothing to clarify much less apologize.
Fox News responds ‘It is difficult for us to tell the tarbaby spearchuckers apart. We will do better next time.’
They should have their license revoked for repeated errors like this. Maybe some FCC complaints?
Did they every apologize to Obama?
Craig Crawford just called Osama, “Obama” on the Scarbrough Show, which I have decided I cannot watch any longer.
I have told several Democrat members of Congress, in the past, that FOX news should have its broadcasting license revoked, so this is another chance to yank their license and force FOX into bankruptcy.
In addition, whether the alleged defamation was intentional or not is indeed relevant where a public official was defamed — such a plaintiff has to prove not just that an untruthful statement was made, but also that it was made with “actual malice” — that is, with knowledge of falsity or with reckless disregard for the truth — see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Times_Co._v._Sullivan
FOX News has at least “shown its colors”. Everybody knows what FOX News is about. And be careful of sending questioning emails to Fox News.
I did that back in late 2004 because of a “Growling Dog ” tv ad. That ad, according to a local newspaper, ran on Fox TV. That ad depicted that TEXAS Prosecutor, who “tackled” Mr. DeLay after the House Ethics Committee missed, as a big black growling dog.
I sent emails to both the maker of the ad and the tv station. Neither responded with letter head but after that my emails went from about three a month to many times that in a day.
I spent the next year to year and a half fighting viruses (I killed some and my ISP killed some), bogus spam and unsolicited adult materials. Truly the Internet has a comfort zone for everyone, for the GOOD, for the BAD and for the UGLY. And anyone can play any role at any time.
And you might want to compare “Fox/Opinion Dynamics” polling numbers for the President’s job approval rating at pollingreport.com. Sometimes there is an eye crossing difference between Fox and the rest of the polls.
But FOX’s performance is not stealthed. You know to view FOX critically. No faith.
At what point does FOX’s repeated violations become so egregious that they can no longer legally call themselves a “news†channel?

For me, this only heightens my distrust of Fox News. They whine and cry that they are not getting the respect they deserve, and yet, they cannot pass up each and every opportunity that comes along to pull a school-boy prank.
For people who don’t know the difference between Conyers and Jefferson, Jefferson is the one who who is has all of the personality of “Lurch” on the Adaams Family. His expression is always that of a person who has just been sentenced to life in prison.

In regards to the X over Cheney’s face – anyone who has ever worked in motion graphics, live broadcast and most directly as a live TV producer knows that depending on the editing system if a graphic is missing or unrendered it will be displayed as an X or other crossed out visual to signify it’s absence from the program.
So, there’s a good chance that a flash frame graphic error is a mistake and not intentional slander. Showing the wrong person for the duration of a piece about a criminal investigation is greivious error or slander.
Hope this helps out those who don’t know shit about shit.
Am I mistaken or wasn’t it the usual Fox hacks who backed the Capitol police in the Cynthia McKinney incident by highlighting her new hairdo as a “legitimate” reason that she wouldn’t be easily recognizable?

Actually “tarbaby” was from a former Fox reporter in reference to a problem rather than a person and “spearchucker” was a reference to man who’s whiter than Brit Hume.
Both comments were used in their more common, non-racist context, yet both were cited as racist by people pretending to be outraged by it.
Great idea really. I mean, what harm could come from legitimising the promotion of non-existant race issues and slurs when it comes to right-wing media outlets like Fox ?
Nothing Faux Noise Network does like this is accidental. It is all carefully calibrated to incite and disinform their rabid viewers, the most conservative, closeminded, hatefilled ignoramus babblying baboons in America, the hardcore 28% remanant of Bushite neocon supporters.
Joseph Goebbels would be very proud to see that the propaganda and media control philosophies and techniques he so valiantly pioneered are thriving in the hands of the owners and talking heads of Faux Noise. Of course can only hope that they all eventually meet the same well deserved fate Goebells and his family met.
Who owns FOX? Could that be a clue as to FOX’s direction. If the right wing keeps buying up “news” sources, eventually the Bush team will get lots of “good press”.
For the Bush team, good press could mean staying quiet about the ACCOMPLISHMENTS of the Bush team. NONE OF NOTE. It may take years for America to undo what the Bush team has “wrought”.
And I imagine the Bush team would appreciate the “small talk (name calling…etc.) that goes on in some blogs. That means that no one is talking about things like:
(1) Didn’t you just know that the Bush team’s handling of Guantonimo might backfire? It looks likes the military judges might not be able to stomach the Bush team’s “work”. That means it could be that almost 400 detainees may eventually sue America. And America is already living on its CREDIT CARD. The lawyer who was detained made $2,000,000 on his detention – thanks to the Bush team.
(2) The Bush team grabbed outer space and claimed it for its own. The Chinese government shot down its own ageing satellite. The Bush team cried “foul”.
Shortly after the Chinese government “rankled” the Bush team by shooting down its own satellite, there was a newspaper article telling how many American businesses the Chinese could buy with its American investments. That list was significant.
(3) The Bush teams Eastern Europe missile defense may get Russia’s nuclear missiles pointed at Europe. It looks like the Bush team is reviving the Cold War!
(4) And Iraq is worse than ever, but the Bush team is not talking about it. The Red Cross and the United Nations are requesting refugee help from surrounding countries. Syria has taken in some of the refugees.
Those two agencies are calling the Humanitarian conditions bad. But the Bush team is MUM. The Bush team says Iraq is getting better.
I’m delighted Congressman Jefferson has been indicted, and I hope we hear soon why it took so long to make the case and bring charges. I imagine it had to do with the international leads.
Meanwhile, Faux “News” demonstrates again no credibility. If we are to believe this is a mistake, it is a horrendous one. It reflects a severe lack of attention to detail when it reports, and after all, that is what reporting is supposed to do-give us facts, details.
If it was intentional, it simply adds to the gagging confluence of irresponsible, partisan propogandizing which pulverizes their audience with misinformation and lies.
Fair and balanced…in an alternate, opposite, bizzaro universe, maybe.
The Fox Opinion Channel doesn’t even deserve this much attention. Let’s worry about stuff that counts instead of crying every time Fox, who has like all of 20 viewers, does something hateful. Only the ones who drank Rove’s cool-aid believe them anymore anyway.
you’ve got to be kidding me!

Can you provide ONE example?
“You deserve all the insults that you have brought upon yourself. You are an idiot and I am debasing myself by actually responding to you.
The rest of your diatribe is certainly not based on fact but actually based on fear of debating me. If I am wrong, step up to the plate and be a man or woman?

Excellent. That’s the most brilliantly stupid thing of the evening!
You get a gold star for your calendar. But just one! Try again tomorrow, and you might get two.
June 5th, 2007 at 1:20 am“Jesus! All this blubber and not ONE example to back up this liberal NONSENSE!”
You’re an amazing parody of yourself. You claim that one must provide back up for their observations YET you claim what I said was “liberal nonsense”. I didn’t say anything “liberal” in my post, thus it is YOU who make a statement without any back up.
I know this will be lost on you, but what the hell. Troll-kicking can be fun.

Which would your prefer JPark be? Man or woman? I take it you’ll be whatever he isn’t, is that right?

And you NEVER have an answer! Are you really that stupid to leave yourself open to that? I think everyone on this blog, including liberals, have a blood rush to their faces , for you, when we engage! Why? You’re a dope!

June 5th, 2007 at 1:23 amFor me, this only heightens my distrust of Fox News.
Probably just a coincidence.

I want you zooey! But you know what? I already have you, and most intelligent people see that! You defer from any challenge I have with dopey 6th grade responses. Even though I consider liberals idiots, they’re not that stupid that they can’t see your emptiness!

michael never debates anyone. I finally gave him a serious topic, the death penalty, and let him go first. He kicked his own ass before I got a word in. Frickin’ amazing…..
I’m outta here. If michael puts up another stupid question, give him that second gold star.
Goodnight, JPark. :)

June 5th, 2007 at 1:29 amLOL, 6th grade responses says Mikey. What??? You can’t string a sentence longer than 5 words (with a question mark, whether there should be one or not). Poor pathetic retard.

Is that yours?
June 5th, 2007 at 1:36 amIn regards to the X over Cheney’s face – anyone who has ever worked in motion graphics, live broadcast and most directly as a live TV producer knows that depending on the editing system if a graphic is missing or unrendered it will be displayed as an X or other crossed out visual to signify it’s absence from the program.
So, there’s a good chance that a flash frame graphic error is a mistake and not intentional slander. Showing the wrong person for the duration of a piece about a criminal investigation is greivious error or slander.
Hope this helps out those who don’t know shit about shit.
June 5th, 2007 at 1:53 amStupid Git, amazing they showed a black Senator instead of the black Representative, isn’t it? I wonder what the statistical probability of that is?

June 5th, 2007 at 2:44 amAm I mistaken or wasn’t it the usual Fox hacks who backed the Capitol police in the Cynthia McKinney incident by highlighting her new hairdo as a “legitimate” reason that she wouldn’t be easily recognizable?

Uh, oh… we might have to wake Zooey up. She handed Michael his ass and now he can’t find it. Oh wait, I see it! It’s over by that hole in ground… Is that the problem, you can’t tell ‘em apart?
June 5th, 2007 at 5:51 amActually “tarbaby” was from a former Fox reporter in reference to a problem rather than a person and “spearchucker” was a reference to man who’s whiter than Brit Hume.
Both comments were used in their more common, non-racist context, yet both were cited as racist by people pretending to be outraged by it.
Great idea really. I mean, what harm could come from legitimising the promotion of non-existant race issues and slurs when it comes to right-wing media outlets like Fox ?
June 5th, 2007 at 6:47 amNothing Faux Noise Network does like this is accidental.
June 5th, 2007 at 7:30 amWho owns FOX?
Somebody needs to “TELL AMERICA” the truth.
June 5th, 2007 at 8:57 amok since he’s black and a liberal we should ingore the laws he broke?
June 5th, 2007 at 9:36 amI’m delighted Congressman Jefferson has been indicted, and I hope we hear soon why it took so long to make the case and bring charges.

June 5th, 2007 at 11:04 amThe Fox Opinion Channel doesn’t even deserve this much attention. Let’s worry about stuff that counts instead of crying every time Fox, who has like all of 20 viewers, does something hateful. Only the ones who drank Rove’s cool-aid believe them anymore anyway.
