Senators pressure Bush on climate change.
In a letter sent yesterday to President Bush, a bipartisan group of senators led by Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Joseph Biden (D-DE) calls on the administration make climate change a priority at this week’s G-8 summit:
Mr. President, you have made clear that you understand the challenge climate change poses to our nation and our planet. To meet this challenge, both the United States and developing nations, five of whom will participate in the proceedings at Heiligendamm, must join in the solution. Your leadership in the search for consensus will be essential to a successful outcome and we hope you feel, as we do, the great urgency to move forward on worldwide greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

Cheney and Bush are two very small-time amature jaywalkers compared to Eric Alterman and Paris Hilton. Alterman is known to write entire paragraphs, enjoy babaganouj, and was caught sipping, get this, French wine, when an ever-alert eagle-eyed Officer of the Peace was told by a patriotic citizen informant that Alterman worked for the illegal liberal publication The Nation, and was sitting scant inches from the noble Protector Of Our Freedoms.
Without a moments hesitation or any thought for his own personal safety, the officer, who by pure coincidence happened to be from a different jurisdiction, swung into action and did what any patriotic American would under the circumstances: snap an ugly barking hissyfit right in the well-deserving on-duty journalists face.
Team Cheney has secretly known for years all about the threat to Democracy and the Rule Of Law posed by these credentialled reporters doing their jobs at political events, but up until now has kept Operation Kill The Messenger under strict Ryolite 84 need-to-know Security Clearance while a highly-trained team of specialized agents could track down and identify these contemptible “writers” who earn an “honest” living “thinking” and daring to actually subvert Democracy by “publishing” articles in “magazines”. As if that weren’t enough, the notorious unpatriotic Alterman had the
nerve to comply with the courageous upholder of our constitutional rights, but this wasn’t nearly enough to deter the Law from moving with all swift and deliberate speed to legally address the imminent threat to civilization caused by Alterman’s evildoing.
Wasting no time with pampering niceties on an obvious terrorist, Alterman was apprehended smack in the very middle of the heinous act of Complying, then handcuffed, and promptly taken away as Justice demands, to face the consequences of his nefariously unpatriotic and unamerican actions. “Journalist” Yeah, sure, right.
Likewise, the almost unbelievably rich Paris (how’s THAT for a traitorous name) Hilton, could not avoid the evenhanded, completely blind Justice, by-the-book Impartiality, and Rule Of Law which has so fully characterized every single day of the humble Team Cheney’s majestic tenure as U.S. Leaders, not to mention the immaculately non-partisan DOJ headed by Gonzales, probably one of the most capable, articulate, and honest men the GOP has ever had running that office in our nations history of over two centuries.
Scoffing at Hilton’s vast wealth, she was nevertheless sentenced to a long traumatic jail term for DWI like some 65% of drivers in many American states. It is a real chore for states to have to impose these draconian sentences and collect these millions upon millions of extra dollars in ever-harsher fines, fees, etc etc, but someone’s got to do it. After all, none other than the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law in 2000 clearly stating that not gouging, chiseling, wheedling and plundering every last possible cent from as many angles as possible from everyone at every opportunity, all while making it as difficult as humanly possible for as many people as possible to actually recieve any benefits at all, poses a very serious and ongoing threat to our American Way of life, and therefore unpatriotically hurts our Freedom.
Guess that will show the Elitist Rich Hilton who secretly runs everything not to mess with MADD and law enforcement. DWI is very serious, and is no laughing matter. But like everything else, neither is DWI a matter of each specific individual case, or of exact statutory Law, but now is, as Gonzales has clearly shown by his Bold and Fearless Leadership, rather a simple matter of blanket application of Principle, because Principle is what really truly counts. Cheney and Bush look like innocent angelic chiorboys compared to the traitorous crimes of Alterman and Hilton, so it is well past time that Alterman and Hilton finally faced some real Law And Order. Cheney, Bush, Gonzales, and DOJ have again Kept America Safe and Free from the real terrorists, Alterman and Hilton.

While I agree with you, I’m not very certain that any appreciable change will take place. Guess I’m being pessimistic, but seeing how the democrat controlled congress is ‘acting’ on the AG scandal, Iraq war funding, and these toothless letters they keep sending to Bush, doesn’t really give me any hope at all that the status quo will change much.

Good. The last thing we need is to get caught up in the global warmng hysteria. If we don’t do anything next year, we can postpone until next year. The longer we postpone, the better. A few years from now, we’ll all look back on “global warming” as a big joke.
