Number of career prosecutors who have left the Justice Department’s voting section, according to a new report from the New York University’s Brennan Center for Justice and the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law. The study also found that the Bush administration “engaged in a three-year effort to suppress likely Democratic votes.”
Yes, but what are the Democrats in Congress going to do about it?
June 7th, 2007 at 5:57 pmWhat country do we live in again?
June 7th, 2007 at 5:59 pmRepublicans engage in vote suppression because they don’t believe in the system, and they don’t believe they can win fairly.
Even they know they’re frauds.
June 7th, 2007 at 6:03 pm55% over what period of time… and, yes, i am with #1, what in god’s name ARE the dems going to do about it… i’m sick and goddam tired of watching my country go to hell… every single day those criminals continue to occupy the white house is another day the constitution is being trashed… IT’S GOTTA STOP!
And, yes, I do take it personally
June 7th, 2007 at 6:03 pmEveryone who is legally registered to vote should be allowed to vote, and anyone not legally registered to vote should be prevented from voting.
June 7th, 2007 at 6:04 pmA question for anyone NOT on the “Ignore List”: is it “fair” for people to vote who are not legally registered to vote?

There is a difference between percentage and number, TP.
Did you guys go to elementary school??
Anyway, a percentage is a ratio between some number “x” (in this case, 55, presumably, unless that is wrong) and the number “100.”
Thus the percentage which is in your heading would be the following ratio:
“55/100″
This does not mean “the number ‘55/100′” but rather the ration. This can be expressed as a percentage “55%,” yet this is still not a “number” it is a ration.
June 7th, 2007 at 6:12 pmErratum: post #8) misspellings of the word “ratio,” there should not be a “n” in the word.
June 7th, 2007 at 6:19 pm55% is an ENORMOUS turnover and yet more evidence of how this idiot ended up in the White House in the first place, he stole the election just like he did i 2000.
June 7th, 2007 at 6:41 pmThe DEMS have GOT TO DO SOMETHING!
They have to ACT NOW. They have plenty of evidence of perjury with Gonzo, why haven’t they moved to impeach?? They are well aware that warrantless wiretapping is ILLEGAL they need to act and INDICT all those clowns in the WH!!
Don’t they realize their entire constituency wants ACTION? The evidence is clear even if they can’t get the WH or DOJ to release any records! They need to GO GET the records. Is everyone as frustrated as me? Im sure they are.
What exactly are they waiting for??

That’s a clever strategy Mr Pee, to use one of the daily ratio(n)s of sh*t you spew in here to show off your command of elementary mathematics. Oh the other hand, a phrase such as “55 percent: Number of…” is acceptable in common usage, so the problem is that you come off as a tiny minded little nitpicker, rather than the deep thinker we want the people to believe you are. After all, the PERCENTAGE of people who believe you are superficial and shallow is rather large, about 70% according to recent polls, and that’s a NUMBER we endeavor to change.
Just trying to help you out here…

Actually, I didn’t even read this thread. As soon as I saw the glaring error I rushed to the rescue of your fragile little mind. Are you straight now, do you understand the difference between a ratio and a number?
June 7th, 2007 at 7:19 pmJake, try Googling “caging” to see about who can legally vote and why this is an issue. That’s http://www.google.com. Use it…it’s an amazing tool. Far more interesting than Fox “news.” Honest.

What glaring error? The word *ratio* never appears – dum bass. Are you a complete fool, or are you now so fat your head is permanently stuck up your bloated *ss?
June 7th, 2007 at 7:46 pmConfusing headline…”55 Percent. Number of….” Is it 55 career prosecutors who have left the section ?? Or have 55 percent of the career prosecutors left? If there were 11 prosecutors in the section and 6 left that would be 55 percent. A little clarity would be helpful.
June 7th, 2007 at 7:53 pmWhat an incredibly rigged game American politics is.
The Republicans have an unbelievable monetary advantage. They have almost complete control of the media. They have swiftboating. They have gerrymandered districts. They have their funny voting machines. They have voters so stupid they will vote for a lampost. They suppress millions of Democratic votes, con Democrats out of their vote, toss Democratic registrations in the trash, etc., etc., etc.
AND YET THEY STILL LOST!
Jesus H. Christ–how bad must these guys BE?
June 7th, 2007 at 8:10 pmSo? Why can’t you people just let The President do what needs to be done to protect your children??? Sheesh!
June 7th, 2007 at 8:15 pm“Or have 55 percent of the career prosecutors left?”
it’s 55%. the former head of the voting section wrote about himself in march:

From who, Mark Foley?
Now, if BuschCo could only find a gay, environmentalist al Qaeda operative who’s a registered Democrat… it’d be some kind of Super-Grand Slam for “America’s CEO” and the GOP…
June 7th, 2007 at 9:38 pmThank you, MsJoanne, but I know what “caging†is. Honest. Care to answer my question now: is it “fair†for people to vote who are not legally registered to vote?
June 8th, 2007 at 12:08 amJake,
June 8th, 2007 at 12:38 amI seriously doubt that any of us are for allowing people who are not legally registered to vote to vote in elections. But that is not the issue under discussion here, which is probably why no one is bothering to answer your question.
do you understand the difference between a ratio and a number?
Comment by Mr. President — June 7, 2007 @ 7:19 pm
I suggest you stick with your “Shakespeares” Mr Pee, it seems that mathematics, even on this elementary level, is way over your head. You see, there is NO difference between a ratio and a number. A ratio IS a number: to wit, a rational number. Indeed, a famous cult of antiquity, the Pythagoreans, were devoted to… Oh well, we don’t have time for this Mr Pee. Here are some references:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rational_number
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/RationalNumber.html
But for now, let’s get down to the important issues. E.g., how are we going to more effectively promote your agenda of hate and fear on this planet. I’m beginning to suspect that this venue is not ideal.
