Liberman is just typical “rear area swine”. Fighting
for democracy, while suffering all the humiliation of
an air conditioned office, and lunch and dinner at the
taxpayers expense. He would never have been
allowed on the floor of the Roman Senate. Due to
the fact that Honor and Integrity actually did matter.
This creature proves just how hollow those words
are in todays world. Thank the Gods the pathetic
megalomaniac never got the Vice President office.
The morning Senate prayers would be quoted in
Hebrew if he had.

During the height of “Shock and Awe” I remember a news clip of Saddam Hussein speaking and saying words that vowed to the effect that:

” The American’s will die clinging to the gates of Baghdad!”

I remember some pundits and others laughing at him and slapping their knees as US armor raced across the dessert toward Baghdad.

They didn’t understand that Saddam was not talking about their entry into Baghdad, but was predicting their efforts to get out.

Senator Lieberman has failed to understand the situation on the ground in Iraq. His repeated comments that we are making progress on the ground only indicate that he both out of touch with what is actually happening on the ground and has failed to understand that the policy in Iraq has failed. Our troops may not want to speak to Sen. Lieberman simply because he doesn’t see failure in Iraq where the American people see signs of failure everyday. It is hard to expect understanding from public officials when they refuse to acknowledge reality when it is staring them in the face. Sen. Lieberman should know better than to blame brave and courageous troops who are on the front lines everyday.

Our troops should be honored not only when they agree with us but also when they disagree with us. They are in a much better position of assessing the situation on the ground in Iraq because they are there in the middle of this civil war everyday, unlike Sen. Lieberman who has the luxury of safely sitting in his Washington DC office. It is clear to a majority of Americans that the current surge is not working. We don’t have to wait till September to come to this realization. We are losing more and more Americans in Iraq everyday. More Iraqis are also dying everyday in Iraq despite the surge. We can no longer win this war militarily and Sen. Lieberman needs to realize this soon.
