NYT, WP, USA Today ignore Surgeon General story.

As Frank Lockwood at Bible Belt Blogger points out, “papers of record” — specifically the New York Times, Washington Post, and USA Today — have all failed to write about Surgeon General nominee James Holsinger’s prejudice against gays and lesbians. Both ABC News and the AP have both written stories. Contact the papers and request that they start covering Holsinger:

New York Times: public@nytimes.com
Washington Post: ombudsman@washpost.com
USA Today: accuracy@usatoday.com

This is no surprise, the main stream media is also to blame for us being in Iraq. They are entertainment organizations, and simply propaganda wings of BushCo & the republican party. So much for the liberal media, a total myth.

  2. dixie blood says:

I expect nothing less from the facist, Kool-Aid drinking, reich-wing WP and USA today.

I have a very hard time trying to understand why the NYT has become so reich-wing too! From Judith Miller until today I just don’t get it.

Soon I will be forced to call the NYT’s a facist, reich-wing, yellow rag!!

  3. Armando Gomez says:

Has the New York Times, the Washington Post, and USA Today got religion? I must say: yes! As in the U.S. occupation, both the papers of record and Holsinger follow God’s “Stay the Course.”

If you want the truth about your world Americans then you must watch/read the foreign press like the BBC, The Guardian, etc. It seems the entire MSM is this country is corrupt to its very core!!!

  5. hil says:

    done!
but do we really expect them to cover something so trivial… certainly not while the fate of Paris Hilton hangs in the balance!

  6. MsJoanne says:

Here’s my email…. I doubt it will do any good, since they really aren’t news organizations any longer.

A new surgeon general is pending and you have no coverage?

What are you reporting on? More Paris Hilton?

Thanks for being a great “news” organization.

    One less reader,

    Joanne

  7. Styve says:

Done… the gist of my note follows~~

Stop being complicit in the destruction of the country!! Expose Holsinger as the sick bigot he is!!

Get with it, please! You already brought the country Alito, Roberts,
Gonzales, Bolton and the list goes on…through your coerced
    silence/obeisance to the Bush Mafia!

    Bunch of toady rags!

  8. Kilo says:

    Why ?
    Are homophobes pro-smoking ?
Otherwise it would appear to be irrelevant who Bush appoints to such a position.

WTF kind of useful information did you last get from current non-homophobe Dr ?
What, did he put out something about not shooting nail guns into your eye that impressed you as to the importance of this position ?

  9. spit take says:

#8 Kilo, so your position is that the Surgeon General is irrelevant, so we should just ignore this appointment?

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Smoking is the ony relevant topic on which the Surgeon General has impact?

  10. Karim says:

The liberal media at its best. Man.

  11. President Clinton says:

screw gays and lesbian, they are killing our great United States!!!

and I can’t have sex with any Lesbia, so screw gays and Lesbians.

they are evil and the cause of all evils.

If you are a f@gg@t or a butch you need to get the f@k out of my nation and go to France, they will accept you with open legs.

I want more heterosexual women, I need them, I want them.

  12. Jay Randal says:

President Clinton > calm down, you must have forgot that night you got drunk and had sex with Paul Begalia.

  13. Cappy says:

    …Unless maybe hetero cigar butt-sex?
