Gov Exec reported on Friday, “The Office of Special Counsel confirmed that it delivered to President Bush today its investigative report concluding General Services Administration chief Lurita Doan violated the law that limits political activity in federal agencies, leaving Doan’s future in the hands of the White House.” The article also noted that Waxman has received transcripts from the Office of Special Counsel’s interview with Doan:
In related news, OSC has provided the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with redacted transcripts of their nine-hour interview with Doan, along with the e-mail records obtained by OSC to determine whether Doan was using her Blackberry during specific time periods during the January meeting. The panel’s chairman, Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., and ranking member, Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., both received copies of the report, the OSC spokesman said.
On Wednesday Doan is scheduled to appear before the oversight committee to discuss her allegations that GSA employees who testified about her statements at the Jan. 26 meeting were biased and poor performers. Waxman also said Doan may be asked other questions about her previous statements to the committee and to officials involved in the OSC investigation.

Lurita is about to find out how true her ” friends” in the White House are.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:06 pmBurn that al Ceeracka wannabe bi*ch…

…for prostituting herself to the criminal Bushite junta…
June 9th, 2007 at 10:06 pmThere’s not a person in this administration that even remotely knows what the phrase ‘ethical’ is.
Doan will be twisting in the wind soon. Here’s hoping and praying that all her GOP pals join her.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:09 pm“…leaving Doan’s future in the hands of the White House…”
Don’t worry, Lurita, you’re in good hands. Just ask Scooter Libby how it all worked out.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:09 pmCome to think of it, if the report doesn’t have pictures in it, will Brush even bother to read it?
June 9th, 2007 at 10:10 pmExcellent.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:15 pm“Anyone who was found to have anything to do with the outing of a CIA agent will be fired”.
Right.
now would be a good time to resign for her.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:16 pmWaxman has the best job. All he has to do is throw a dart at a list of Bush cronies and he will certainly dig something up on them that they did illegally.

We should start a pool, maybe make some bets as to which Bushitter will self-implode next. Perhaps we can even start handicapping them, and give odds.

Well since most of them are morally handicapped it makes sense. For some reason Schlozman seems like a winner to me. He has that scared weasel aura around him and has the goods that a prosecutor would look for in a plea bargain.
June 9th, 2007 at 10:35 pmRemember this:
“If there’s a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is,” Bush told reporters at an impromptu news conference during a fund-raising stop in Chicago, Illinois. “If the person has violated law, that person will be taken care of.
“I welcome the investigation. I am absolutely confident the Justice Department will do a good job.
“I want to know the truth,” the president continued. “Leaks of classified information are bad things.”
He added that he did not know of “anybody in my administration who leaked classified information.”

Good bet. I agree… Schlongman has the look of an embarrassed plea-bargainer about him. Lurita? She’s made of tougher stuff, I reckon. She looks like the kind who will proudly do her time, and then get out of prison w/ the word “H-A-T-E” tattooed across one set of knuckles, and the the word “R-O-V-E” tattooed across the other.
So dlet is putting his money on Schlongman. Any others?

Well taken care of. Usually a promotion. Or a cushy private-sector job.
If it really gets ugly, there are plenty of people willing to contribute major dollars to your defense fund. And an extraordinary list of people willing to write to the court on your behalf, explaining to the judge what a good and loyal public servant you are, and how your conviction was a miscarriage of justice as the result of a partisan witch-hunt.

Oh, that’s right, Speaker Pelosi, “Impeachment is off the table.”
It looks like the entire Bush administration has a free pass to violate the law.
What’s it going to take? Shooting somebody in the face? Oh, right, that’s already happened, too.

June 10th, 2007 at 12:34 amShe seems to morph from time to time, kinda erratic, sounded like the former Rache.
Zoo, unless she had a personality change, Stella has always been a troll.

June 10th, 2007 at 12:43 amYes, but today’s Stella went all weird and cracker on our Big Papa - my trolldar went off big time.
June 10th, 2007 at 12:44 amZooey, I have only seen fakery from Stella. She attempted one night to act rational…it didn’t work. She ended up showing her true colors. She is a fraud.
June 10th, 2007 at 12:48 amBy the way Zooey, that night she was very tight with Mr. President. If you want to give her the benefit of the doubt, go ahead. You will be disappointed.
June 10th, 2007 at 12:50 amJPark,
That night with Mr P, I know exactly who I was talking to. There is no question in my mind. Stella was making him THINK — for a change — and keeping him off balance.
I will reserve judgment. I’ve been disappointed before.
Thanks.

June 10th, 2007 at 1:07 amHeh, Jay, those three are not sneaky. I would just love to see another pointless question from Mikey.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:08 amJPark > I am beginning to wonder if those 3 work for TP, because they are never censored hardly ever.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:13 amZooey, I will tell you why, on this thread, I believe she is a troll.
She said “One more cracker statement from you big papa and I am not gonna back TP.”
Ok, one she attacked big papa. Next, she called cracker on a statement that was not in the least racist. The kicker was she claimed she wouldn’t back TP if he said something similar in the future. The first two I could buy. She messed up and read something wrong. The third is plain trollery. She was setting the table for her attack.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:17 amI know, JPark! That’s why I’m wondering if the name has been hijacked on this thread. This person changes names all the time, so it would be easy to grab the name, and maybe we wouldn’t spot it. This person has been around long enough to know who big papa is.
I haven’t suddenly gone all daft, you know.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:25 amI don’t know Zooey. Whenever I have come on Stella has been a thinly veiled righty talking point. Maybe the later it is the more retarded she becomes?

June 10th, 2007 at 1:29 amLike I said, JPark, I’ll wait and see.
I’ll be the first to admit it, if I’m wrong.
Goodnight, JPark.

June 10th, 2007 at 1:31 amHehe, Lily, you the “explain please” is perfect. Too bad he doesn’t hold himself to the same standards.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:35 amNight Zoo, just keep an eye on old Stella. I am predicting a meltdown.
June 10th, 2007 at 1:37 am#41 Stella: Was Tucker Carlson making an understatement when he utilized the descriptive adjective “small” to describe himself or what? This guy needs to get back to his club-footed performances on “Dancing with the Stars” - which was perhaps even more pathetic than his making this current statement. Tucker’s the quintessential nerd and a laughinstock among serious commentators. He’s singling himself out as being one of the last standing Repukes; while he may be absolutely accurate on that count, he’s hardly the poster child for being the last one standing with any shred of integrity, is he?
“Bowtie Tucks” (and he probably uses them with regularity) is the quintessential Repuke Sphincter Muscle - that’s the more accurate moniker for this fool.
June 10th, 2007 at 9:37 amUnfortunately, our new resident troll (Stella Didn’t Get Her Groove Back) is also a Re-Troll (as in Retread or Retard as the case may be) who doesn’t understand the “numbers game” - as in the study of linguistics, keystrokes, style of writing, use of vocabulary, statistics of probability, etc….I’d wager a bet that Stella Groove-Less is one and the same pesky troll we regularly see here. I’ve got my probabilities stacked up on it but will allow her(Him) to reveal itself a bit more before officially “outing”.
June 10th, 2007 at 9:41 amWaxman’s job is easy these days….he could do it blindfolded and come up with a criminal in Bush’s Administration of fools, incompetents, crooks, and liars. It’s like child’s play - just blindfold him, spin him around three times, and let him point the finger and, in every direction, there’s a criminal just waiting to be investigated.
June 10th, 2007 at 9:43 amLaurita Doan - (yawn) Another Bushevite criminal! Ho hum! Business as usual - Scandal Du Jour!
June 10th, 2007 at 9:47 amSo, will Doan be the next person to spend time at Cupcake prison with traitor Libby?
June 10th, 2007 at 9:57 amEven though Bush claimed that if elected he’d “return honor and dignity to the White House†my guess is that he’ll stand behind this latest criminal and say she did a heckuva job.
Woe, we all know what “heckuv job” does for a Bushite career. Yepper, off to Cupcake prison with her. Since she won’t have to face the gallows, I don’t want to hear any troll whining about her violating the law.
June 10th, 2007 at 10:02 am“In related news, OSC has provided the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee with redacted transcripts of their nine-hour interview with Doan…”
“Redacted” transcripts. No, don’t tell me, the transcripts contained classified information that would aid our enemies if they knew what was in them. For gods sake, this is the GSA, not the Pentagon. Why does Congress allow the Bush Administration to provide them with evidence that is heavily redacted.
Also, hopefully Ms. Doan will be charged with perjury for her many lies in her testimony and for violating the Hatch Act. Just losing her job is not enough punishment. If we don’t prosecute these people and throw them in jail, we are telling any future administration that they are free to violate the law and not suffer any consequences for doing so.
June 10th, 2007 at 12:13 pmHey everyone. Go here:
http://speaker.gov/contact/
and tell Ms. Pelosi to put impeachment back on the table. She doesn’t need to immediately use it, but at least she can put it on the table. As long as she doesn’t she is letting the Republics know that they can violate the law with no consequences.
June 10th, 2007 at 12:20 pmAlso, hopefully Ms. Doan will be charged with perjury for her many lies in her testimony and for violating the Hatch Act. Just losing her job is not enough punishment. Comment by Kate Henry — June 10, 2007 @ 12:13 pm
I agree completely with you here, and a LOT more of BushCo should follow Libby to the courthouse. But I’m sure you can interpret how these things are actually playing out just as well as I can.
I think that like Libby, there will probably be a couple of people, Doan being the best choice right now, that will have to take a fall, so the big fish don’t have to. But how much will they reveal in the process? Do you think that there are any in the Whitehouse who will pay for their crimes? Here’s three words for you; no confidence vote.
Fully informed, America, like those of us who haunt TP, would ensure that these things (Iraq, the systematic takeover of our goverment, Lorita Doan, etc) wouldn’t happen.
I’m not sure how it could happen, but what I would like to see is an America who demands more from congress, and especially more from the main stream media, to do more on our behalf to keep us informed of the truth.
So far, the vast majority of real news has been coming from blogs like Think Progress, and Huffington. TV, it’s been all Obermann. During the 2006 election I could see people around me talking about the war in Iraq, and a LOT of what people were talking about, was news being reported on by this, and other blogs. I believe it was this flow of news, starting on the internet, then being ‘transmitted’ by people informing other people directly, that caused there to be such a change in the makeupof congress (not the behavior we’re finding out now).
Since the main stream media has abandoned their watchdog roll, in favor of ratings and profits, I doubt things are going to change much.
June 10th, 2007 at 12:49 pmBush’s problem is that if he fires Doan, as he should, for serial violations of federal law, he would be firing her for doing exactly what he and Rove wanted her to do.
Another problem is that what America badly needs to hear about more than another breaking story about Paris’ bad hair day, is that “the law” and “the government” are more important than any encumbent officer or administration. Mr. Bush, of course, doesn’t believe that and would never say it. But it needs to be said.
Another problem on Shrub’s full plate of them, is that if he fires Doan, he’d have to do the same to dozens of other officials. Since Shrub (ie, a Lil’ Bush) hates being told what to do (”No! Mom I won’t clean my room!”) more than he hates the law (because it tells adults what to do), he can be counted on to find a reason to deep six the Doan report in KKKarls’ circular file. Good thing there’ll be plenty of other copies about for us to read.
