This is not news as the PNAC document “rebuilding americas defences” released in september 2000 said that USA needs to have permanent boots on the ground in the middle-east.

I think that this news, and the other comments by our military ‘leaders’ and BushCo, need to be constantly put in front of the democrat presidential candidates. What is Obama, and Hillary’s position on the military’s desire to have a permanent presence in Iraq?

My answer is to draft Gore. He has been against the war in Iraq from the beginning, and I believe he’d get us out of this mess.

My peeve for literally years has been the lack of good information on the bad people in our communities.

They didn’t actually vote to ask us to leave. They did something like our “sense of the senate” to see what people were thinking. And people were thinking they were going to ask us to leave. After they did that, they went on a two month vacation. So, we have to wait until they are back from vacation to see if they follow through with their vote.

Excuse me, but has anyone bothered to ask Iraq how they feel about this? Do you really think that Iraq is going to embrace being occupied by the US for 50 years?

It’s going to be very interesting to see, when the Iraq Parliament gets back from their two month’s vacation and vote to ask us to leave, what Bush will do. He’s on record as saying that if they ask us to leave, we will leave. I’ll bet his approach will be to not recognize the Iraq Parliament as their “government” and only recognize his hand-picked stooges.

Do these military leaders really think that Iraq is going to sit passively by and allow us to occupy their country via an 100 acre embassy and permanent bases. I don’t think so!
