Admin: I see that you issued a “TP migrated servers and we’re still experiencing a few technical issues, including delays in comments showing up. We hope to have everything fixed shortly. Thanks for your patience. 5:39 pm” Yah. Bullshiit. So the comments that I posted three days ago, they’re going to be posted when? How about before the server migration started? When will those comments be posted? Stop censoring TP!
Comment by Tom3 — They get paid to troll. Thier objective is to disrupt the thread, insert chaos, and deflect as many people as possible from using the thread as a viable source for the exchange of information, then leave. Just ignore them. The upside of trollism is, in this case, progressives get to vent their anger towards this virtual enemy. Rather theraputic on some level I suppose.

I emailed them about the problem I encountered today, very nicely, and you know what: ZERO response.

I am so sick of their “Holier than Thou” response to us.
One thing that I’m going to bring up – and it’s petty, I know, but encompasses TP’s thinking – is the Libby sentencing thread a couple of days ago. I did an OT on the Think Fast thread that live blogging of the Libby sentencing was on FDL – since it was not deemed important enough to be included on the Think Fast thread.
When they finally mentioned something, I had the first comment and AGAIN stated you could go to FDL for live blogging.
Then they issue an “Update” – Live Blogging, blah blah.
No HT. Because they don’t like me. I kept my mouth shut because I knew this was them, but their half-assed “Sorry” compelled me to give another example of their contemptness.
They do not care about us.

So, deal with that, TP.

This was reported in the WaPo a couple of days ago.
The troops have zero confidence that this alliance with Sunni militia will gain much, and the article mentioned the Islamic Army had already worked out a truce with al Qaeda.
The next day, a tank patrol was supposed to hook up with the militia to do a raid, and yup, no militia.
One sergeant said he had zero trust that these militias wouldn’t turn on the Americans in a heartbeat.
Just another dead end failed “strategy” (if you could even call it that).
And no problems with buttons here, ever, and certainly not now, in either browser. This is in XP.

Responses would be nice. I get a response every now and then, but usually when I really don’t feel like a need one. Email Faiz directly, I’ve always gotten responses from him.
Admin/TP: Stop censoring my posts! All the posts that you have sensored have been within your threads guidelines. This is worse then the trolls that come in here and disrupt this site. Also, please create a “no topic” thread that people can talk about anything.
For what it’s worth, I’m using IE 7 in Windows Vista.
(Note to all…if you are a user of the Windows operating systems and find yourself shopping for a new computer the next time Microsoft announces the release of a new operating system, by all means avoid the new OS at all costs, at least for a couple of years. Get a system with the current OS because in this case, it looks like it’s going to take a year for all the software vendors to get up to date with Vista. I wanted to get a laptop with XP on it, but all the retailers sold out a week before Vista was being released. And as some of you probably know, Bill Gates & Co. refused to sell Vista, or any system with it preinstalled, before a certain date.)
Anyway…here’s the error code I get when I try to use the formatting buttons:
Can’t move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus.
I’m now typing the html formatting codes manually, but it would be real nice if the buttons worked. Yes, in our remote controlled, drive-through, instant messaging world I’ve become lazy.
I’m searchng the Yahoo! now to see if there are any solutions.
reading the latest comments, it occurred to me that the info about what systems we are using could be beneficial to TPs troubleshooting…

Nothing’s perfect and considering we don’t have to pay to read or post, don’t get spam, don’t get pop-up ads or any other form of advertizing, I’d rather type in text codes or deal with posting delays or the sort of mechanical problems that have to do with technology than there be no TP at all.
I do, however, agree that deleting posts that don’t violate the rules is a different matter that’s human and not mechanical… Though TP is much more tolerant post-Judd, it is frustrating to have a comment disappear when it was legal, and relevent.
It’s just nice to be kept informed of what’s going on, because those who post here (minus the trolls) consider ourslves a part of the community, as Judd used to call it. We don’t know anything unless you tell us about it, and as I’ve learned, our culture tends to assume the worst if you don’t first explain. :D

People with healthy self-esteem have what are known as ego boundaries. If you insist on crossing them, no matter how often you are asked to stop, you get excluded from the group.
If you want to be included, you have to play nice and act like a reasonable human being. Otherwise, your choice – your consequences.
