CNN’s Blitzer says no to Paris frenzy.

On Thursday, a CNN anchor proudly described the network as “the most trusted name in Paris news.” But on Friday, CNN host Wolf Blitzer made a decision to not join in on the media frenzy. The Washington Times’s Inside the Beltway reports:

During his daily production meeting on Friday — the same day that the young California socialite was “taken handcuffed and crying from her home,” “escorted into court disheveled, without makeup, hair askew and face red with tears,” “crying out for her mother when she was ordered back to jail,” a “little girl lost in a merciless legal system” — Mr. Blitzer vowed that during that afternoon’s entire news program, he would not bring himself to utter two words: Paris Hilton.

“And he didn’t,” a CNN producer tells Inside the Beltway.

Catch Bush’s schtick in Borat-land yesterday?:

“At some point in time, sooner rather than later, you’ve got to say, ‘Enough is enough — Kosovo is independent,’ ” Mr. Bush said. He said any plan to extend talks on Kosovo, like the one proposed recently by President Nicolas Sarkozy of France, must end with “certain independence.”

The future of Kosovo is of paramount interest here; some Kosovo residents traveled to Tirana to join the crowd. The United Nations Security Council is considering a plan for independence, but Russia objects. On Saturday in Rome, the president agreed that there should be a deadline to end the United Nations talks, saying: “In terms of a deadline, there needs to be one. It needs to happen.”

But on Sunday, Mr. Bush tried to backtrack when asked when that deadline might be. “First of all, I don’t think I called for a deadline,” Mr. Bush said, during a press appearance with Mr. Berisha in the courtyard of a government ministry building. He was reminded that he had.

“I did?” he asked, sounding surprised. “What exactly did I say? I said deadline? O.K., yes, then I meant what I said.” The reporters laughed. – - – -

The gutless American press grants Bush The Boob a free pass yet again.

Yo, TP, please try not to dive into the same bullsh!t that right-wing blowhards revel in. When describing a story or a report, let’s try at least to be accurate.

Claiming that a CNN anchor proudly described the network as “the most trusted name in Paris news” is a distortion. The anchor clearly meant the remark sarcastically. Perhaps even self-mockingly. Certainly not “proudly”.

Let’s try to be a cut above, shall we?

  9. JPV says:

a “little girl lost in a merciless legal system”

    WHAT???

She got off the hook for a DUI, and the first violation of her parole.

She’s being treated this way, because she violated her parole a second time, and was obviously thumbing her nose at the system.

    Sheeeesssshhhh…

Are you trying to drive us away?

  11. the republic of stupidity says:

    That Wolf, what a guy…

In other news, Amercia’s CEOâ„¢ slipped further into self-parody yesterday by appearing in person on a series of postage stamps issued by Albania, perhaps THE only country left on the planet where he can get cheered.

  12. Fed the Fcuk Up! says:

Mr. Blitzer has been silent on issues that have led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Iraq and thousands of US service members.

Mr. Blitzer has also been silent on the movement to dismantle the constitution and the rights and liberties of all Americans.

So now Mr. Blitzer decides not to report on “news” catering to American’s perverse fascination with unruly and petulant celebrities and what, he wants a Pulitzer or something?

All that this confirms is that when you watch Mr. Blitzer, what you receive is not “the news” but rather what he decides to tell you. Mr. Blitzer and honor parted company long ago.

You really want me to do this?

First, you said it yourself, TP has been having server problems for weeks, including an obvious post today about them working on the servers over the weekend. On of the symptoms of the problems they are having is DELAYED POSTS.

What do you do when your posts on this very blog are delayed? You intimate that TP is deliberately targeting certain people (you I guess) and certain posts. All the while KNOWING that this is an issue they’ve been seeing.

Then what happens? These ‘targeted’ posts of yours show up, but not before you threaten to leave TP. Do you think that anyone cares?

Add it all up anyway you want to, but everything I’m writing about is right here in this post, yet you behave like a spoiled child AT BEST, and a conspiracy theorist at worst. Rather than recognising this, you lash out at me for point to your hypocrisy – this is something that BushCo does.

I am proud to be anti-conspiracy, as it’s superstitious and low minded. The realm of religionists and sooth sayers – it’s all yours.

Are you seriously this obtuse? TP isn’t reporting about PH, they’re reporting on the reporting OF PH.

All these posts by people who cannot see the forest for the trees, also deflects the point of this and other posts like it, from the underlying issue at hand. The main stream media’s obscene about of coverage about ‘news’ such as this PH one. This is something we all need to continue to talk about, as it’s one of the biggest problems we face in America today.
