Ed Gillespie, the current chairman of the Virginia Republican Party, will step down from his position as the state’s party head in order to replace Dan Bartlett as counselor to President Bush. According to the Times-Dispacth, Gillespie “was reluctant to leave…but he answered the president’s pleadings.” Gillespie, a member of the inner circle of 2004 Bush-Cheney campaign, played a a key role for the White House in shepherding Supreme Court justices Samuel Alito and John Roberts through the Senate.
Oh boy another Bush butt kisser.

Does he not see the huge leak in this ship of fools?
Is he gonna stick his finger in it and stop the leak?
Does BubbleBoy really need anymore advice on destroying the country and the constitution?
Stay tuned for more Bush’s Ship of Fools, corruption unfolding daily.
IGNORE THE TROLLS – Debate good, Trolls bad
June 12th, 2007 at 12:52 pmI have to marvel at the rock-solid consistency of this President in his personnel decisions. Whenever there’s any kind of vacancy, he goes with his gut and appoints a mediocre-but-loyal familiar face.
Comfort is clearly more vital to him than achievement. And why not? As a human, his comfort level has consistently outstripped his achievement level throughout his life. It’s what he trusts. Comfort has been good to him. The field of achievement, not so much.
June 12th, 2007 at 12:53 pmI sure hope that Gillespie’s uncanny ability to tell lies with a straight face pleases Bush.
June 12th, 2007 at 12:53 pmThat is after all what Bush’s loyal subjects are tasked to do…serve for Bush’s pleasure.
A rat boarding the sinking ship.

That rat has been on board for some time now; he’s just taking up another station.
June 12th, 2007 at 12:55 pmOh man, I thought we’d seen enough of that goober! He’s such a smarmy jerk, that one.

June 12th, 2007 at 1:04 pmHe should get a good view of the sinking ship from his new cabin next to the captain of record.

June 12th, 2007 at 1:05 pmThe bottles stand as empty, as they were filled before.
Time there was and plenty, but from that cup no more.
Though I could not caution all, I still might warn a few:
Dont lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools.
Ship of fools on a cruel sea, ship of fools sail away from me.
June 12th, 2007 at 1:11 pmIt was later than I thought, when I first believed you,
Now I cannot share your laughter, ship of fools.

Maybe the Republicans should have a talent hunt.
June 12th, 2007 at 1:36 pmI rather think it’s brilliant! The puppetmaster will have full control of the puppets. At this point, he can’t stop the ship from sinking, but he can slow the water down. All Ed needs to do is be the mouthpiece until they can get a Republican elected in 2008. Left to his own devices, Bush will ruin the party’s chances completely!
June 12th, 2007 at 1:37 pmOh good, another thug, tied up in the Jack Abramoff fiasco, to be in the Crime Family circle of thugs. I am shocked.

June 12th, 2007 at 3:17 pmWatching Ed board the Titanic again, this time alone , Jeff had an unexplained feeling that this would be the last time he would see Ed. No more evading security to gain entrance into Ed’s office. No more intimate conversations with Ed. Jeff felt wistful today.
