That's for sure. They couldn't put together an intelligent statement or question if their lives depended on it. She shut them down and had them hemming and hawing like a pack of third-graders. Any neutral party watching this charade would have scored it Lurita 20, Dems ZERO! You really have to wonder who is running that party, because the inmates have taken over the asylum! The 2008 election should be very interesting, since the more you hear from these idiots, the more you want to vote for adult supervision instead.

I hope Lurita Doan stays on and maybe these political witch hunts on both sides can end. There are so many truly important matters going begging while the NEW Democratic majority wastes the same time the OLD Republican majority did on political trifles like this. All of you should grow up and take a look at an adult agenda for a change. If ever there were a need for a third party, it's now. Hopefully, most of the people on this blog would not be among its ranks.

OK...so, former Bush protector lacky OSC Director Bloch has written chaper 1 of the "Bush Administration Senior Officials' Hatch Act Violations." Noting, as reported in "The Washington Post," and elsewhere: The [Jan. 26, 2006 GSA] meeting, a "brown bag" luncheon, featured a presentation by J. Scott Jennings, deputy director of political affairs in Karl Rove's office at the White House.

Jennings gave a PowerPoint presentation of polling data about the 2006 midterm elections. In a slide called "2008 House Targets: Top 20," the presentation named 20 Democrats on whom Republicans intended to focus in 2008. Another slide, called "2008 House GOP Defense," listed GOP candidates to be protected. o-o-o

The GSA meeting was but one of SEVERAL conducted in various departments and agencies. How about bringing action against J. Scott Jennings, and those who hosted the other meetings/briefings?

Otherwise, agree with all previous comments regarding those who voted "present" or who otherwise did not vote on the Gonzales "no confidence" resolution, which included Joe Biden (a surprise to me). Such is the way of cowards, and by such cowardice, are complicit in the face of the continuing nefarious malfeasance, and evil, of the Bush administration, and forfeit any decent claim to the title "leader."

Funny how EASY it is to get a special counsel to recommend firing...

...a little GSA sycophant like Lurita Doan...

...but the Department of Justice...

...has an even bigger political IDIOT running IT...

...and we can't get a no-confidence vote...

...DUHmerikkka deserves whatever it gets...

...for allowing these TRAITORS to ruin our government...

The “Ruling Class” has you second guessing your own gut. It is said that the biggest trick of the devil was to convince everyone that he never existed. I can say that our government has if anything become “demonic” or “devil like.” We citizens are no longer the government, heck we are not even part of it! We have been reduced to nothing more than empty words and foolish complaints on an internet that they could simply turn off!

Al Gore would have us believe that he discovered global warming and invented the internet and he and his lovely Tipper gave us a record rating system so that we could be under greater control! Everything is so out of sorts that we can barely wipe our rear areas without wondering if we are doing something wrong. Our whole nation has decided to live in a perpetual state of paranoia like 300,000,000 coke junkies.

The alcoholic in the White House will not follow the suggestion…his dry drunk ego will not allow him to take direction from anyone…he is the decider and the commander guy…it is his government and the knuckle dragging troglodytes in the Senate will back him.

Comment by kasinca — June 12, 2007 @ 11:51 am

We all know that to be true kasinca! The point is what should and can we do? We are all angry but we must keep our heads clear to determine a course of action. If I was an organizer I would call for massive general strikes to get the ball rolling. We need to follow the Constitutional guides supplied by the likes of George Washington. It is true that history repeats itself and since that is the case there can be a “New American Revolution” that would destroy the tyranny currently griping our once esteemed nation.

The Dictator’s alcohol use is not in question here. He is over 21 and it is legal for him to drink if he wants. There is nothing to stop neither him nor you from drinking! The point is that 88% of Americans want him IMPEACHED! Honestly, We the People don’t even need a reason! The majority of Americans want him removed and so long as it is a majority they don’t need to justify their desire for a change!

re: Obama & Gonzo vote

Obama's non-vote is a little disconcerting. If he explained it by being too busy authoring impeachment papers for Gonzo, I'd understand ~ a choice of the correct method vs. the desire to voice opposition.

But without either a voice or an action expressed on the issue which the public is asking to have addressed, he risks being classed as a man of inaction (and we already have plenty of those).

An explanation should be forthcoming, because the question is there. And a successful explanation would be grounded in a principle that was more important than expressing toothless discontent on a single issue. When the explanation comes, be it credible, it will provide Obama with one more credential that others have been unwilling to offer us so far: Being able to tell his supporters "no" for reasons that we can respect.

So, we wait for an answer to the silence. The longer we wait, the longer he puts off that respect, and the less his words will resonate in the interim. He reverts to the status of a normal challenger, in the pack with Hillary and Edwards.

Senator? Yes. Orator? Yes. President? Prove it. What is it that you see - and saw during that vote - that we should respect?

The Roll call on how they voted is at http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2007-06-11-gonzales-roll-call_N.htm

This is not over...how can we pressure the Senators who supported torturing, Constitution-shredding, manipulative, DOJ-eviscerating AG Gonzales? This vote should provide the seeds of a continuing strategery to restore the rule of law.

I posted this:

Posters haven’t we already passed the point where we realize that the entire government is blowing smoke up our as$es? Honestly, when do the large scale “Replace The Government Marches” start? When does the civil war start?

So the posts sort of prove that this TP experiment is not helping the public to achieve critical mass and make the necessary changes by owning our government again. We, by cashing the Dictator's checks have been cast into denial. I suppose that the marches, protests, riots, sit-ins and concerts will be skipped leaving the only solution of civil war?

I wish someone would tell me the date time and place of the "Big Marches" and the "Giant Protests" then I have to wonder if I'm going to be the only one there.

Guys & Gals we know that the Democrats only have a slight majority and votes need to have 2/3rd's so the 110th Congress is as useless as the 109th Congress. The Democrats want the same war as the Republicans. Just being anti-war may be illegal so if that is the case we are well past talking about this. Frankly, TP and many of the other blogs are simply gossip sites.

The Government knows that this is the case and lets things go so that they can create a list of our IPs and affix labels like "adjutant" or "terrorist" or "anarchist" or "subversive" or well you get the picture. They have machines read this for keywords and then flag the users of those words. These flagged users are scored like on your TRW report for threat assessment.

Blogs happen to be a great tool for the Dictator but the one thing he can't hide would be millions of citizens marching on DC demanding change and making change. After all according to the CNN poll 88% of Americans want the Dictator IMPEACHED! The numerical superiority is property of the poor, disenfranchised, indebted, honest citizens.

This needs to be said that this is not racial like those that would divide us would insist. This is not sexual like those that divide us would insist. This is not religious like those that would divide us would insist. What this is IS class warfare! Congress is made of a group of creatures called "LAWYERS" and they are creating a dome of laws that protect only themselves and the firms they would represent if not in office!

They create division by appearing to be in deep conflict but time and again they work to betray our time, trust, honor and intelligence. They are above us and bully us and force us to comply with countless laws that contradict our civil liberties.

Why is it that NRA people defend the Constitution but seemingly average people are deceived into believing that there needs to be more and more gun control? Consider the possibility that the Government fears an armed population so conspires to create a nation of disarmed sheepole and convinces you that it is for your own good.

Why would Congress vote on a Bill that's content was unknown to them (Patriot Act)? Why would Democratic candidates for President be promoting a global carbon tax when doing so is UN-Constitutional? Why do various groups want you to be the barrier of guilt in the scandalous Global Warming crisis?

Don't believe any of it! Not a word should you believe since they are reaching into your pockets with laws designed to protect the Law Giver class and those who have charged them in their mission to divide all of us "Useless Eater" types.

We see it happening and at worst by replacing the entire government from our own ranks people that have not otherwise run for any office can't possibly get us in more trouble than we are already! We don’t need any quotes at this point except, “Give me liberty, or give me death!” We already know that, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." So when does the “refreshing” start?

When does the first of many general strikes start? What date do we all go to work but stand outside and strike? When will we picket employers who employee illegal aliens? When will we realize that the best way to end our nightmare is to give all of those “Corporate Lawyers” gone “Lawmaker” a boot out of our buildings? The majority of us here agree, (in my unscientific understanding) that the entire US Government can and should be “house cleaned” since the majority of it is corrupt and tyrannical! The few that are righteous would understand that the needs of the nation outweigh their political careers!

I posted a piece, I wrote to Congress last night on Obama, on the ThinkFast thread above > post 48. Obama has very seriously damaged his chance to be elected president now. His advisors have harmed him.

Veritas~

An inspired rage above, which I saved! I am shocked that Obama and McCain didn't vote on the AG matter, and thought about calling their offices, but then thought "what for?" What do you think people should do to show displeasure at their utter abdication of their oversight responsibilities?

What do you think of Bloch being allowed to be the one to mete out punishment for another of Bush's croneys? I have to get back up to speed on what obfuscating role he is playing in any investigation of Rove in the USA matter, but I really think this slap on Doan's wrist is a preview of what we are going to see happen to Rove.

Interesting thread...
I'm amazed @ how quickly the conversation's focus turns to Obama.
We all know Lurita Doan should be fired for her transgressions (& may not be). Usually on crucial votes staffers keep Senators informed & if their vote would be needed to pass key legislation they would know that in advance. Seeing as how yesterdays vote was purely symbolic & NO REPERCUSSIONS WOULD COME FROM PASSING THIS WORTHLESS VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE it was a sham. More politics as usual in order to give the appearance that Congress is actually doing something. They were going for headlines People. That's it headlines... Should Gonzales be fired??? Yes. If he were do you think we'd get any better for a replacement??? No. Our system has become a sham, being gamed for profit. Obama didn't vote because it WAS'NT IMPORTANT. Impeachment is in order but this do nothing Congress doesn't have the balls to impeach a fruit fly. It truly is time to put partisan politics aside & pay attention to individuals that seem to want to make a difference & focus on puttuing them in a position to do so.
Democrap, Repooplican, or independant. Peace.
