I think the casual confession that she thought she was enabling a Rove-office motivational speech is enough on its face value to constitute violation of the Hatch Act. Rove's only motivation was, is and will always be, partisan politics.
The sooner he can be forcibly reemoved from political life, the better.

But so many think he will walk out of this administration right into his next dirty trickmeister political position, with total arrogant impunity.

He has certainly broken enough REAL LAWS to get put away for a long, long time, if Justice ever peeks out from beneath her blindfold at the havoc Rove has wreaked on our fragile democracit process. If nothing else, he has taught us its weaknesses, because he has exploited every one of them to suppress the votes of minorities and other citizens across the spectrum of American politics.

Time will tell his fate.

And maybe some oversight will seal it.

I gotta say, I've never been a gun person, but in the last 6 months I have begun to see the NRA's point about the government coming to get you. I

Soon the states will come after all civilian guns and it is a fact that the government no longer fears the citizens even if some have guns.

Now wait a minute, here. Isn’t this where the NRA steps in and screams… it’s our second amendment right to have guns? Or is does that amendment “arm bears”?

Comment by Coffins draped with flags — June 13, 2007 @ 3:18 pm

Now go look at the thread about making it harder to get a hand gun for "criminals."

If the "decider" decides that he is now the "dictator", then the Americans that own guns need to hide their guns and prepare for an "insurgency".

Well, it was a motivational speech. It was to motivate the employees of the GSA to get out there and use the US government to make sure that Republics were elected.

No way you are talking yourself out of this one Ms. Doan. You are toast. W isn't going to bail you out. You are not one of his inner circle so he could care less what happens to you. Now you know what it feels like to be like the rest of us.

Ms. Doan asked the White House's Scott Jennings to motivate her staff to write and enforce better contracts? What great lateral thinking!

Mr. Jennings' speeches to the GSA and to virtually every other federal agency wasn't about motivating govt staff to be happy in their work. It was to bend every agency's activity to the purpose of re-electing Republican officeholders.

The GSA employs tens of thousands of people who every year negotiate, enter into, monitor, enforce and terminate thousands of contracts for the purchase of tens of billions of goods and services for the USG. Ms. Doan had run a small "technology" firm that garnered a couple of million dollars worth of minority business set aside contracts. Commercially, a comma lost among the paragraphs of dissertation.

Ms. Doan was no more appropriately experienced to run the GSA than a Naval midshipman would be to run the Pacifiic Fleet. Ms. Doan was given a sinecure because she personally contributed over $200,000 to the RNC & Co. She hosted Mr. Jennings speeche(es) because she regarded her purpose as using her agency's resources to help her Republican team win.

Lurita Doan should be fired because she violated the law and because she didn't do what she was hired to do. That is, more efficiently run the USG's principal purchasing agency and see to it that every taxpayer got every dime's worth out of every contract. Instead, she made sure that every Republican Party-supporting contractor got every dime she could spend. Mr. Bush hired a lot of Lurita Doans.

Me thinks this country is in dire need of it's very own civil war. Even if the dems or indies get full control of everything in 2009,the repugs and their ilk will still be trying to ruin this countrys future. It is our duty as Americans to protect this country with any means possible and words aren't working.Next.
I'm joking NSA.

It’s still tough for most Americans to accept that our president could be this incompetent and preside over an administration THIS corrupt. But as you say, Tom3, we should have seen it coming, in 2000.

Comment by spit take — June 13, 2007 @ 2:38 pm

You are underestimating the enemy and mischaracterizing him. Bush has created a Military Dictatorship in the face of opposition. That is not the calling card of an idiot or incompetent individual. He used plays out of Joseph Goebbels play book that all bank on the power found in group-think. These people did such a good job that their NOW plans are moving ahead while all we can do is cry.

We must not fall prey to calling the Dictator “incompetent” or “idiotic” since he has transformed himself into the “King George” that we see. We were busy calling him names and he now has war power. When we realize what he did none of us want to admit that we fell for some cleaver tricks. Remember when we all got that “Tax Overpayment Refund Check” thing? That was the soon to be Dictator purchasing our individual support. We all cashed those checks and if you didn’t that would have been foolish too.

The thing now is “what to do about it?” If I had any pull here I would ask that we start out with general strikes. When that doesn’t work then we resort to strikes and marches. When that fails we should be prepared to fight to the death for liberty. The good part is that 78% of America don’t dig the Dictator. A CNN poll shows that 88% of America wants the Dictator in the dumpster ASAP.

Like it or not this is the situation people and endless talking and talk about a bunch of talking will only drag this out even longer. People it is so bad that we can’t even hope for a tax revolt since we only receive net pay. The illegal aliens keep the whole thing! Soon the states will come after all civilian guns and it is a fact that the government no longer fears the citizens even if some have guns.

Never kid yourself by pretending these people are stupid since they have the knife on our throats and are giving us the slow bleed.

Chimpy has his Executive Directive and also a new law giving him increased martial law powers and increased power over the National Guard. He's all set to declare himself Chimperor-for-Life.

I don't doubt he will try this. It would be easy to declare martial law after another false-flag attack like we had on 9-11.

Chimpy has destroyed this nation in six short years, and he is gearing up to complete the job.

We should have seen this coming, way back in 2000.

Comment by Tom3 — June 13, 2007 @ 1:39 pm

I think many of us did see it coming, Tom. I think those of us who didn't forsee damage this extensive can be forgiven, since if you had predicted this level of organized criminal activity throughout the executive branch, you would have sounded like a nutcase in 2000. (Unless the person you were telling it to actually knew Karl Rove personally.)

I think BushCo used that to their advantage for a long time. You know, the old Republican mantra -- "if you're going to lie, make it the biggest lie you can think of".

It's still tough for most Americans to accept that our president could be this incompetent and preside over an administration THIS corrupt. But as you say, Tom3, we should have seen it coming, in 2000.

VerbalKint,

It's all part of the plan, they can't hate us for our freedom because we won't have any. Brilliant little monkey, isn't he?

dlet,
Hit Ctrl and F5 at the same time for refresh. I didn't come up with that, just passing it along. Seems that some of us are having refresh impotence and some don't.
