MSNBC goes all conservative for seven hours.

“During the seven hours of the June 11 edition of MSNBC Live (9 a.m.-4 p.m. ET), 15 segments aired about immigration or the Senate immigration bill, none of which featured a Democratic or progressive commentator. Indeed, in nine of the 15 segments, the anchor interviewed a conservative anti-immigration activist who had opposed the bill — including six separate solo interviews with MSNBC political analyst Pat Buchanan.”

    Bada-bang.

  7. CompTROLLER V-1 Says:

I think it means that people like to hear a more conservative tone when it comes to immigration.

  8. nffcnnr Says:

They must feel they have to "balance" for K Olbermann, the only real journalist in cable news.

  9. m12 Says:

How many hours have been devoted to Olbermann's garbage?

  10. Krazny Says:

you have to admit a frothing at the mouth rightard, makes for much better sounds bites then a sane person.

  11. squegeebooo Says:

Sure, during the work day (9am-4pm) what happened in the evening/late afternoon when people actually have time to watch tv? Those are the interviews and segments that matter.

    YADAYADA

  13. CompTROLLER V-1 Says:

Keith Olbermann is a stupid brat, loony.

I couldn't agree more. That in a nutshell is the obstacle progressives face in the national dialogue. Logic and reason don't provide fireworks. And the media loves them some fireworks.

  16. Crump's Brother Says:

    Freaking Liberal Media Bias!!!

  17. Nude Gingrich Says:

Can someone do something with that freak....Contessa Brewer?

She is sooo obsessed with Paris Hilton that she can't think of anything else. She must have a crush on her or just be one bitter woman.

MSNBC is second in line to FOX. I mean Joe (Ann) Scarboro.....and the biggest closet case on the planet earth.....Tucker (Ann) Carlson.

  18. sd Says:

normally i would be up in arms here but with this issue, which i think matters little to the center and left, and is being thrust upon them by the president, i think it's ok to see a divided right beat themselves up over it. it's a sideshow, but it's THEIR sideshow. let them have it.

  19. Zooey Says:

    I'm whelmed.....

  20. verse18 Says:

This is going to be some good entertainment. I now realize how enjoyable it is to watching the Republicans pander to the backwash.

  21. theswan Says:

And the pukes scream "that liberal press."

  22. NastyDiaper Says:

When Pat B. talks about foreign policy and constitutional issues, he makes sense usually.

Then he says something domestic and i want to throw the TV.

I don't know what I'm saying... other than I don't put Pat in the samp pot as all the other conservative bobbleheads struggling to remember their talking points.

  23. hit_escape Says:

    The assimilation is almost complete!

  24. LandSurveyor Says:

Stop watching cable news. All of it. Yeah even KO.

  25. JD Says:

With the 'Conservatives" making asses of themselves on this issue, airing 15 hours of their implosion is a win for the Democrats.

The Democrats probably didn't want to address the issue, which imho is a smart move, let the Reps self destruct and sit by and watch.

  26. satnin Says:

  27. powkat Says:

Went to speech by someone who knows Buchanan well - a friend, actually. His take on Pat was, 'Great guy to get drunk with, but as far as politics, he's a screaming loon.'

thank you for that wonderful little passage, verse18.

  29. bogtrotters Says:

MSNBC and CNN, even moreso, don't GET it. The neocon wave has crested and broken, and their spokespersons--like that piece of excrement Glen Beck--have no credibility; they are preaching to a choir that's getting smaller every day. In terms of sheer marketing savvy, you'd think cable news would at least balance their commentators. Olbermann's a lonely progressive; Lou Dobbs, if he'd ever drop that immigration rant, is consistently outraged by the Bush Administration, but he seems like CNN's Huey Long. [O'Reilly gets dibs on Father Coughlin, along with James Dobson] The news establishment still running scared from the Bush-Fox "far-left" media straw man; the MSM seems to be in a contest to the death with the Democratic Congress to determine who is the more useless and gutless. Neither, I guess, can afford to offend their corporate bosses.

  30. werenotgonnatakeit Says:

    Reporters/Anchors/Pundits work for News Companies
News Companies are owned by Corporations
Corporations are run by Conservatives (who get their tax cuts)

Liberals should boycott television and radio "news", period.

  31. Gay Witch for Abortion Says:

    #29...bogtrotters

    I couldn't agree more.

  32. DutchHenry Says:

Pat Buchanan why he has to be on every MSNBC political program is beyond me and then to "pair" him with Gene Robinson who at times is critical of Dems is a joke. How does it show objectivity is beyond me.

  33. CompTROLLER V-1 Says:

    --

  34. Maeven Says:

MSNBC also had no liberal or progressive Democrat opposed to the immigration bill, of which there are many.

  35. Kate Henry Says:

Other than Keith Olbermann's Countdown, MSNBC is just as bad as the other so-called "liberal" media. They are owned by a major corporation and their interests are in making money, not in informing us so we can be better citizens.

  36. Robt Says:

Now I do remember distinctly when Republicans roam the airwaves of all media exclusively.

There were many of the media that when confronted with the imbalance of the political spectrum . The media squarely retorted that the Republicans are in majority and control power. Therefore they recieve the bulk of the media.

So what is the problem now that the Dems are in the majority power? Shouldn't the media give the lioons share of exposure to the Dems now. More interviews and such????

  37. Ben Says:

So what? The conservatives are the ones fighting over this. The more they fight the more it helps the Democrats and progressives.
