Former U.S. attorney in Arkansas Bud Cummins yesterday demanded an apology from the Bush administration over revelations that former White House official Sara Taylor said he was fired last summer for being “lazy.” “I deserve one, an apology, if somehow this ‘lazy’ issue is a suggestion I was fired for a performance reason,” said Cummins. The Justice Department has repeatedly insisted that Cummins was not fired for performance-related reasons, but rather to make way for Karl Rove-protege Tim Griffin.

Here’s a Giant MMiddle finger for you Cummins!!!
You should have played ball!!!

Pleasure of the Presidentâ„¢
Clinton fired Attorneys for political reasons. So did Carter.
Democrats support letting people who aren’t registered vote.
Look over there! Paris Hilton might get out of jail again!
June 14th, 2007 at 1:15 pmWhy did ThinkProgress not put up Harry Reid’s entire interview with them aka Center for American Progress? Is it because they didn’t want the audio comments of what Reid said about Patreus and Pace getting out into the media?
June 14th, 2007 at 1:15 pmTerminating an employee is a tricky business. Technically, you don’t need a reason, but it is best to cover yourself by having one. You’ll get yourself in trouble if you defame the employee, so you want to avoid that. In business, the best course is to have documented evidence of violation of company policy, and then say nothing to anyone other than the employee as to why the employee was fired. This ran into a problem with the USAs in two ways - the policy they violated (support the Party)is unethical , and then they brought in performance issues, whether they were true or not.
June 14th, 2007 at 1:18 pmYes your right King George, Bud didn’t lie for the King so he is no loyal Bushies. But not all Republicans are liars, crooks and thieves. Bud did a great job and the people who supported him in office know it. King George is losing his base because he doesn’t have their moral or religious values. Bud should do as other the illegally fired lawyers are doing file a lawsuit, if nothing be to save his reputation as an honest hardworking lawyer. Sorry King George evil never wins just ask Richard Milhouse Nixon. Most Republicans are nothing like the Bush Administration or his GOP followers.
June 14th, 2007 at 1:23 pmSue the effing effs! You’ll get no apology and even if you got something resembling one, they won’t mean it.
June 14th, 2007 at 1:35 pmJohn Negroponte is the essential benchmark to define lazy.
June 14th, 2007 at 1:37 pmlol the Rove Automatons’ wiring is smoking…
June 14th, 2007 at 1:53 pm#4 Clearly, these (not so smart) neocons “out thought” themselves on this one. According to the law (thanks to the insertion of the clause regarding Senate confirmation of replacements!) they didn’t need a “legitimate reason”. If they hadn’t out thought themselves in their rigid deviousness they wouldn’t be in the pickle they find themselves in right now. It would have been considered “de rigeur” for an administration to replace attorneys….end of discussion. But, they found it necessary (in their overt guilt) to make things seem plausible and comprehendable….which will be their undoing and the undoing of this entire Bush Cabal before it’s over. The investigations will continue and, in the interim, we will have no legitimate, credible DOJ. I’d say that without a credible DOJ, this country is in very serious trouble.
If the GOP fails to recognize this fact and fire Gonzo, then they risk the stench they will have on their candidate regarding all of this in 08….they already have layers of blood on the hands of their candidate right now….they really can’t afford any more.
June 14th, 2007 at 1:58 pmHey you want something, King George has a middle finger you can shove up your hinny! That’s because he’s such a goooooood Christian and all. If you don’t like that the the VP suggest you can go Cheney yourself.
Oh, i bet the religions-right, the “moral” majority class of foks are just so pround of what they’ve been supporting. They must walk the streets gushing with pride. Their WH boys and girls are just so close to God; that is if your God walks around like a spoiled little rich boy telling everyone to go F*%& themselves. I must have missed reading that chapter in the Bible. Perhaps I bought a pre-9/11 edition or something.
June 14th, 2007 at 2:25 pmthe former USA doesn’t tell congress about the crimes he knows about, that he and the administration have perpetrated. how many times have you looked the other way sir? How many partisan calls have you been on the receiving end from DOJ or the OVP, or EXU?

And so did Bush One and Reagan…it is not uncommon for newly seated Presidents to clean house…it is uncommon to fire them mid-term to replace them for more obedient asswipes that the political hacks who are trying to rig elections want. Get a life. You may try reading something that is not warped by reichwing lies.
June 14th, 2007 at 5:49 pmCummins missed the point. To Sara Taylor, lazy means not doing what they wanted him to do, bring nuisance indictments on phony election and voter fraud charges in order to influence the outcome of elections. That’s really useful owrk. Instead, he’s off wasting time investigating public corruption crimes nobody in charge feels is a productive use of time. He either just didn’t understand the assigned priorities or refused to follow them, the lazy bum.
