Military Families & Troops Poisoned By Command At Lejeune;

Marine families who lived at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina over three decades drank water contaminated with toxins as much as 40 times over today’s safety standard, federal health investigators said Tuesday.

The government disclosed results from a new scientific study on the same day that some families testified for Congress about cancers and other illnesses they blame on drinking tainted tap water at the sprawling training and deployment base.

The House Energy and Commerce panel, which held the hearing, described the sickened Marines as “poisoned patriots.”

At least 850 former residents of the base have filed administrative claims, seeking nearly $4 billion, for exposure to the industrial solvents TCE and PCE that contaminated Camp Lejeune’s drinking wells before 1987.

“My wife and I now have new full-time careers just staying alive and figuring out how to pay for it all,” former Navy Dr. Michael Gros of Spring, Texas, said. He was stunned to learn years after his work in the 1980s as an obstetrician and gynecologist at Camp Lejeune that he had a rare non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

I was furious the first time when they authorized bush to go to war – but I thought well, now they’ve realized their mistakes (Hillary didn’t – she insists she was LIED TO – give me a break – I knew the war was a sham before it was declared – anyone who has a BRAIN knew the war was a sham) and now they’re going to stop this thing. As others have pointed out, your President was on watch when the worse domestic terriorist attack occurred, this despite the hit over the head with a warning that all but said, “Hey, you vacationing idiot, take time out from your three month endeaveor to read “My Pet Goat” and prepare, Al Queda is going to attack the World Trade Center”. Bush is the Inspector Closeau of Presidents.

It’s people like you, those who follow leaders blindlessly, that allow facists like Cheney and Bush to ruin countries and commit the atrocities that they have. In your world, if this were 1944, and you were German, you would still be hailing the achievements of your Fuerer. Your loyalty should be with your country, not an incompetent leader.

Alos, political debate requires an exchange of ideas and facts, not smug replies that only include simplistic words and insults. Try to offer a citation that is prima facie proof of your President’s achievement, which, if based on fact, iis impossible. In the real world that the rest of us live in, he has failed in every category of leadership and administration. If Bush and Cheney were third world leaders, they woulld be tried as war criminals, and there is no disputing that. Of course, you know more than the other 95% of the world’s inhabitants. So keep your smug attitude and you’ll get the country you deserve, a dictatorship where the gov’t. would know when you potty, when you eat and control what you believe. Like every other civilization before us, the U.S. will rot from within, not from outside agression, because citizens like you were blind to it’s decline in freedoms and values.
