Ben Shapiro: Palestinians are ‘rotten to the core.’
Right-wing pundit Ben Shapiro, who recently wrote a book riddled with “numerous factual errors, misquotations and misrepresentations of people’s views,” today writes a Townhall.com article that concludes there is a “radical evil” within every member of the Palestinian population:
The problem runs deeper than a few figureheads. The Palestinian Arab population is rotten to the core. There are many to be blamed: Yasser Arafat, who lined his pockets with cash and subsidized murder while playing the victim of oppression. [...]
But in the end, the blame must lie with the Palestinian Arabs themselves. They have accepted their role with relish. They are as responsible for their government’s longstanding evil as the Germans were for the Nazis’.

And the League of Nations gave Britain the Mandate to rule it and give out land to new immigrants without consulting the people of Palestine. And the United Nations, the League’s successor, proposed a partition of it without consulting the people of Palestine. Israeli historians such as Benny Morris have confirmed that much of the legends of the Israeli War of Independence are indeed myths. Israel knew it could not keep the West Bank & Gaza after 1967 and yet they began building settlements all over the occupied territories.
What is so bizarre and preposterous about Ben Shapiro’s statements is that, if you substituted “Jews” for “Palestinians”, everyone would agree that the statements were anti-semitic and hate speech. It’s that horrific mix of truth, half-truth and lie that leads to bigotry and racism. And there that denial at the heart of the question that the Palestinians have been wronged and have a right to be angry and, yes, aggressive.
Yitzak Rabin, a man I greatly admired, was not interested in a secular Israel, but there cannot be a Jewish Israel without a Two State solution. There is no question that the West Bank & Gaza are nation-sized concentration camps or Bantustans. The Palestinians have no rights under the current system. And the West shamelessly promoted the idea of Democracy and then promptly rejected the choice of the Palestinian people. It’s a red herring to say that Hamas can’t be negotiated with; history has shown that enemies who have said even worse things have agreed to compromise and change.
The idea of Shapiro that Palestinians are less than human is merely his excuse for denying them fundamental human rights. It’s the Establishment’s way of defending the indefensible and putting off the day of judgement. Israel cannot pretend to be the Angel to the Palestinian Devil. What we have are two neighbour’s fighting over where to put a fence and one has a good lawyer and a friend at City Hall, but that doesn’t negate the rights of the other. Shapiro is actually undermining Israel’s right to exist because the only alternative to the Two State solution is a One State solution– and that would be a secular state without an established religion; it would be neither Jewish nor Muslim.

But if you want to know, I do strongly believe that Tibet is being brutally suppressed by China, and I also think that our government (yes, including the last administration) cowtows to Bejing far too much, especially when it comes to Tibet and especially to Taiwan.
Getting back to the topic at hand, I still want to know what Shapiro thinks should happen to the Palestinians.

They hijack the leadership role by force, with no democratic process, then claim to represent the people. They abuse their position and line their pockets with money and keep the conflict going so they remain valid.
I’ve lived in Israel and know many Palestinians. They are good people as are the Israelis. Unfortunately, you have a larger part of the Palestinian population that is uneducated and train their children to be racist to the core. They are growing up on third-generation hate. There are hate-groups amongst the Israelis but they are much smaller and largely ignored by the people similarly to how we do here in America.
What Ben has said is very accurate. The people are responsible for the evil that their leaders continue to perform. I saw first-hand the propaganda that the Palestinian people believe. They love what the Nazi’s did to the Jews and they use Nazi propaganda from WWII written in Arabic. Iran’s Ahmadinejad held an international conference disputing the Holocaust ever occured. Almost every Palestinian believes (as do some on this site) that 9/11 was allowed to happen by a Jewish conspiracy to start a war against Islam. They believe without question that the Jews were told to stay home on 9/11 and that none were killed.
You can’t negotiate peace with someone who wants to destroy you. The moderate element in Palestine is always diminished by the more radical fringes. It’s truly sad because the people deserve better. Had the moderate elements been able to control the process, the Palestinians would have had a homeland in the 70’s.

The Romans also have a well documented history of violence, as do the Spanish, the French, the English even wiped out an entire race, the jews have much blood on their hands, the U.S. has claimed millions of souls expanding it’s empire. The greek were some of the first in history to go about conquering and killing other poeples. Hindus don’t even respect the lowest members of their caste system or grant them any rights.
You make a weak case. You are the poster child for consevative ignarance. Man as a species is inherently violent. Historically, Arabs have been no more violent than any other race or culture who has wielded significant power.
