‘Write Congress to right justice.’

‘Write Congress to right justice.’

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) today “announced the launch of a new web page, to respond to the growing number of current and former Justice Department career lawyers and other employees raising concerns about politicization in the Department.” The page “provides a secure method for DOJ employees to communicate what they know to Committee investigators.” See the page HERE.

I am sure the NSA won’t be able to get at these emails!!

But if this is indeed true, I do believe Gonzo, Darth and PudgeBoy Rover might be getting just a bit concerned.

  2. RUCerious says:

You could also hand out free whistles in the DOJ for employees to blow.

  3. BARTLEBEE says:

This is actually a good idea. I would not be surprised if it merits at least a few accounts that to date have not been yet brought to surface.

Conyers is using his head for more than a republican punching bag.

Thats a good trend. I hope it continues.

Conyers, let us spell it out for you: I-M-P-E-A-C-H-M-E-N-T.

Everything these days seems to be “hot-lines” and “care centers” and “alternative resolutions”. What about people DOING THEIR JOBS instead of creating numerous more excuses for the actual work that needs to happen never to actually get done, except of course, for the wealthiest 1%.

  5. MsJoanne says:

Yes, we all want impeachment, but the votes aren’t there.

Too few people want to speak out due to the whistleblower not having any protection (what a bunch of bull$hit that is!!)

    This was brilliant!!

I hope they look under every leaf because this shrub needs to be pruned from our consciousness. If only we could click our heels and make the last six years never to have happened.

This is from John Conyers’s website blog, dated November 15, 2006:

We need to put aside any thought of anger or payback. Instead we need to focus on identifying and correcting abuses and pass legislation which serves the interests of the American people.

Having devoted a considerable amount of time and attention to detailing the many abuses of the Bush Administration, I firmly believe that we have brought these matters to the attention of the American people and the mainstream media, and that their verdict was reflected in the elections on November 7.

As many of you also know, I have agreed with Speaker-to-be Pelosi that impeachment is off the table.

And, it appears, nothing will put it back on the table. This administration is getting a free pass. Oversight hearings without any real consequences. Continued war funding.

None of the “Loyal Bushies” have been forced out, albeit Griffen stepped down of his own volition.

Everything is still in place for the ‘08 election.

Pray for those who do come forward, for regardless of assurances of confidentiality, there can be no guarantee that they are not already subject to electronic and other surveillance by the Department of Homeland Security. After all, anyone who does come forward is not a Loyal Bushie, and therefore an enemy of the White House.

  7. tsoldrin says:

John Conyers? That asshole campaigned on impeachment. He PROMISED imeachment. Since he’s been elected he hasn’t said one word about it. Fuck him and the ho he rode in on.

  8. dogjudge says:

Could someone please explain to Rep. Conyers how HIS constituency is going to be marginalized over the next decades due to the career attorneys, with a Republican agenda, are going to be running the Department of Justice.

What the hell is it going to take for the Democrats to stop this President from thumbing his nose at them?

New Gallup data show confidence in Congress at all time low
Just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress.

    This is why.

The page is submitted via HTTP rather than HTTPS from what I can tell which means that when the form on the page is submitted, it’s contents are broadcast over the intertubes as plain text rather than encrypted data. Are they really that dumb in congress that they can’t employ even the most simple of security measures, used by countless sites such as paypal and amazon and that any web techie worthy of the name could deploy?

…over an unencrypted channel meaning that any basic network monitoring tool can ID your machine as having loaded that page.

How did you find out about this TP ?
Somebody from an @bush43.com email address give you a heads up ?

But the “new” Deocrat congress is at an all time low – 14% approval by a new Gallup Poll

    http://blogs.usatoday.com/gallup/2007/06/what_do_hmos_an.html

    ROTFL, ROTFL, ROTFL

This is the congress that was whose first task was to get us out of Iraq

    ROTFL

  14. Kilo says:

Lowest approval rating since they started polling it in the 1970s.

And we know that there’s no such thing as a declining approval rating that doesn’t get posted at TP.

    What do you reckon ?
A one-in-a-billion chance that a poll result THAT significant and dropping that fast will rate a mention on the front page here ?

It is not a “Democrat congress”. It is a congress that is made up of both Democrats and Republics. The rating is on Congress in general. People are angry that nothing is getting done. And why is that? Could it be that the Republics filibuster everything and if it isn’t a filibuster it is Bush finally finding his veto pen.

When 54% of the people in this country want a Democrat as president over 34% who want a Republic, I really don’t think you can call the low approval rating of Congress the fault of the Democrats.

On the other hand, there are a lot of Democrats who are pissed at our leaders in Congress. If they don’t do something about Iraq soon, even their poll numbers will start to fall. This is not a time for us to be fiddle-farting around. We need decisive action and we need it now!

And yet the odds on my bet are what they are.

Congress could be made up of half democrats and half George Foreman Grills and it wouldn’t make a difference.

TP isn’t touching congress approval ratings now that the democrats are in control, just like theyre not touching any of the (at this point) daily stories out by any left publication you can name pointing out that democrats were elected with one purpose and so far they’ve failed to deliver squat.
