White House opposes declassifying WMD report.

“The White House is resisting a move by both Republicans and Democrats to fully declassify a Senate report on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction,” believing the declassification “would trigger another round of negative news media coverage and Democratic-led congressional hearings, said a Senate Republican, who asked to remain anonymous because of ongoing private discussions.”

And when is Cheney going to get de-classified?

  7. Zooey says:

Another round of negative news coverage for the WH is not a good enough reason not to declassify the WMD report.

The blogosphere should create a shitstorm of negative news every single time the WH refuses to do what is right and legal.

Of course, that would mean perpetual shitstorm….

  8. missmolly says:

Wow — I can’t believe that the White House is giving us an honest reason for once! That they would actually say they don’t want to declassify something that would make them look bad instead of giving us the usual crapola about “national security” means they are either getting more truthful or they have become so confident in their power they are just getting more brazen (I vote for the latter).

What does Occam’s Razor tell you about the ODDS that NORAD would be running a series of drills on the morning of 9/11 designed specifically to simulate an attack against America involving hijacked planes flown into buildings?
What does Occam’s Razor tell you about FEMA having been prepositioned in New York for the drill – which commenced at the same moment the first tower was struck?
What does Occam’s Razor tell you about the warning sent to Israeli Nationals two hours before the first plane struck?
Ignoring everything you have seen and heard to brainwash you to the contrary in its aftermath, what are the odds that a man in a cave could beat all of the defenses of the United States of America by coincidentally timing his attack to coincide with a total shut down of NORAD?
Occam’s razor states that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible, eliminating, or “shaving off”, those that make no difference in the observable predictions of the explanatory hypothesis or theory.
Pieces of aircraft were scattered over a five mile area in Pennsylvania.
WTC 7 – though untouched by an aircraft, fell directly into its own footprint less than two hours after its owner ordered the fire department to pull back from the structure in order to “pull it.”
5 Israeli Mossad Agents with explosives expertise were arrested for filming the destruction of the twin towers. Their film has never been made public. They failed seven polygraph tests. They were quietly deported to Israel.
Norm Mineta testified before the 9/11 Commission that he personally witnessed Cheney commanding one of his subordinates in the bunker on the morning of 9/11 to allow the approaching aircraft to strike the Pentagon uncontested.
The manuevers made by the planes that struck both the Pentagon and the second WTC tower could not possibly have been made by any first time pilot – according to aviation experts.
Where are the NSA Spy Satellite photos of the “757″ striking the Pentagon?
Where is the video that was shot by the Dancing Israelis arrested on 9/11?
Where is the flight manifest including Arab names on any of the flights on 9/11?
Two planes hit two buildings in New York, yet three buildings fell down straight into their own footprint.
A man said by his flight instructor not to be able to fly at all performed a perfect 270 degree corkscrew descent over the heavily fortified Pentagon as Cheney ordered the stand down of air defenses (per Norm Mineta) – and struck the target with military precision (according to the FAA controllers watching it all on their radar screens).
Where are the radar videos of that flight? Where are the videos of that 757? Where are the satellite images of that plane?

Google “Operation Northwoods” and do a little reading, and come back here and give us a report on what you think.

Besides, maybe you’d like to take a stab at some of the questions posed by Ace. Maybe you can explain how building 7 collapsed in the same manner as the twin towers when it had not been hit by a jet. It is not a “conspiracy theory” that it collapsed in the same exact manner as a building being brought down by a demolition crew. If you disagree, prove it.

One more thing about 9/11 and that’s it from me (unless MAF puts up a challenge).

I thought it was awful damned convenient that we identified the hijackers as quickly as we did. We had the names AND pictures from airport cameras of the hijackers. We also linked them to a terrorist organization, which obviously means that they were “known or suspected” terrorists.

Couple this with the fact that our intelligence agencies detected increased “chatter” during the summer of 2001 indicating activity by terrorists, which led to the request for Cheney to create a Terrorism Task Force (which never met), and the infamous PDB of 8/6/01. Yet as we now know, Bush didn’t do jack shit.

Explain how Building 7 collapsed in the same manner as the Twin Towers. You can’t. If your answer is “I don’t know” then it should raise some questions. However, in your zeal to kiss a little Bush ass, you are not going to question anything.

It had not been hit by a jet, only some debris from the other towers. There weren’t any major fires, only minor ones. It didn’t suffer a partial collapse…the entire building was brought down.

  41. Juan C says:

the entire building was brought down.
    Comment by WC

Furthermore, where are the tapes the FBI still holds of the Pentagon crash? I mean, it would be terrific PR to get the worst chauvinism from US citizens. Why the BBC reported that WTC 7 had fallen 5 minutes before it actually fell? How can you find molten metal from a combustion process at sufficient high temperature that lasted seconds? But, my personal favorite: How can you remove EVIDENCE as sell it to China when it is the very big No-No of Criminal Science?

  42. WC says:

Not too long ago I saw a video documentary on the Web about 9/11. It did address building demolitions. In one still photo shown in the film, there is a picture of a steel beam that had been sliced at a perfect 45 degree angle. It was also shown that demolition crews install explosives on steel beams of buildings in the same manner…a 45 degree angle. This allows the structure to collapse in such a manner that it implodes…it falls into its own footprint.

However, seeing as how most of the scrap steel was shipped off to a foreign country in record time, we’ll never know the real truth.

    I’m just sayin…

That’s what I’d like to know. At the very minimum, metallurgy experts should have been able to spend weeks, if not months, looking at all the debris and trying to learn from what happened. It seems to me that it would have been invaluable especially considering that what we learned from the collapse could have been used in future construction to help prevent another disaster. After all, it’s not every day that a jetliner flies into a skyscraper.

  47. WC says:

Oh, and one more thing. Several months ago I saw a show on Modern Marvels (Discovery channel, I think) about the construction of new skyscrapers in Japan. Obviously one of the concerns is fire control. They showed a picture of a helicoptor/tanker that could fly up to the levels of a fire and use a water cannon to shoot water into the floors that are on fire.

Questions: did we have such a machine in New York on 9/11? If not, why not? Do we have them now? Again, if not, then why not?

The fires likely could have been put out and the Twin Towers could have been saved.

  48. churchdog says:

The most compelling theory that I have heard about selling off the steel to China and shipping it out the very next day, was that the construction of the towers was supervised by the Port Authority and that they summised that the steel wasn’t up to the standards that it was supposed to be in the first place. They went on the cheap when they built it, and they were affraid that that in itself would bring on tremendous lawsuits against Jersey and the Port Authotity and the City of New York. The fact that they arrainged the deal almost overnight lends credence to the fact that it was well known at the highest levels and they were acting to protect “big business” once again.

Sounds plausible. The documentary I saw states that the towers were designed to survive a hit by a 737, and showed that the size and fuel capacity of that model jet was not that far off from the jets that did hit on 9/11.

Comment by Ret. Col. Jack Ripper — June 25, 2007 @ 6:49 pm

Well, the idea that life is a subjective experience has been discussed in countless contexts, from the ancient mystic philosophies to the most modern scientific theories. The empirical “We can see light which began its journey to our eyes billions of years ago.” doesn’t settle the question of whether the world is illusory or not. It would seem obvious, BTW, that anyone seeking “objective” proof of the world’s subjectivity is, perforce, on a fools errand.

The neocom’s distorted version of the idea that we create reality holds that a ’successful’ life is created at someone else’s expense.

“Is it reality, or is it not reality? All things are reality. Even if only one is imagining it, it is a reality in that the thought has been offered and someone, who has the ability to translate that vibration, will perceive it. It must be fair to say that anything that can be perceived must be reality. Because, as creators, your reality depends upon what you are willing to imagine and allow.” — Abraham
